One of their goals was to eliminate Valery; they knew Valery's undercover operation was a facade, but pretended to be unaware and even used him to conduct their investigation and tracking.
Valery's words just now showed that he knew the CIA base would suspect him and send someone to silence him, but he also pretended not to know, providing leads merely to bait Conrad and the others.
Both parties were actors, each aware of the other's awareness, yet pretending to be ignorant...
Mona thought for a few seconds, only to feel a headache coming on, dizzy from the nesting-doll-like games between the two parties.
Luo An quickly figured out these matters; the layered games between the two parties were not too hard for him to grasp, though there were still some details he was unclear about. Luo An then asked:
"What's the situation with Zakaria?"
"Zakaria is the mastermind behind the operation five months ago, all my teammates died at the hands of his subordinates, so he must die!"
Valery's expression darkened. His earlier plans went smoothly, first killing the underground businessman Rupert, then paying for his men to undergo facial transformations, impersonating Rupert while disguising himself as Rupert's subordinate.
He then contacted Zakaria, discussed the list with him, and set up the time and place for the transaction, which was at Saint-Michel Mountain.
In the end, he lured CIA agents to the transaction site, planning for them to kill Zakaria in the chaos, then using the bombs prepared in advance to kill the CIA agents and the fake Rupert, avenging himself by faking his own death, and going into hiding under a new identity.
Valery finished recounting, and Luo An squinted his eyes with a smile:

The list had been found by Luo An last night, hidden inside the mouth of Zakaria's corpse, on a small USB drive.
According to Valery's original plan, last night's battle was supposed to involve the CIA and MI6 with a maximum addition of the Seventh Bureau.
Unexpectedly, he was caught off guard by Luo An, an unforeseen factor in his plan, and not only was he beaten up but also captured.
Even MI6 failed to catch up and instead ended up being chased around by the Seventh Bureau…
As Luo An and Mona stepped out of the room, Vireness also emerged from the adjacent room. Mona nodded and turned to leave, and Luo An asked with a smile:
"Chief, what about Agent Shawn?"
The situation with Shawn was quite simple; after just having slept, he woke up only to hear that Conrad and Evelyn had unexpectedly died at the hands of enemies last night.

"After healing, my face won't keep me from going to the bar."
As Luo An handed over the needed medicine to Mona, he chuckled:
"Still in the mood for the bar, looks like it really isn't serious."
Reesi chuckled naughtily but accidentally pulled at a wound near her mouth, causing her to grimace in pain.
Mona's bandaging skills were mediocre; she could certainly manage the wounds, but maintaining a pretty appearance was tough. Soon, she had wrapped Reesi's head so thickly, leaving only her blinking eyes exposed.

Reesi was lost for words and silently decided to have the attractive girl in the nearby medical room handle her wound care for the next few days. Then she looked up and said:
"Luo An, there's something I need your help with."
"Go ahead."
While helping Mona organize the medicine, Luo An said:
"You don't need to worry about guarding Valery; I've got it covered. Plus, I've called Winslow and the others, and they'll be here by noon."
"It's not about that."
Reesi instinctively shook her head, then immediately stopped because it made her facial wound hurt.
She took several deep breaths to ease the pain and then pulled Luo An closer, whispering:

Luo An was taken aback, leaning back to look at Reesi with a slight frown:
"What do you need it for?"
"I've been having trouble sleeping recently, can't seem to get a good night's rest."
Reesi pointed to her eyes and said:
"Look, I even have dark circles under my eyes."
"…Those dark circles are from being bruised."
Luo An, bewildered and suspicious, ventured a guess:
"You're not planning to drug some girl, are you?"
"Of course not, I'm not that kind of person!"
Luo An eyed Reesi skeptically as she awkwardly smiled and whispered:
"I've been chased by my neighbor's big dog several times recently, so I'm thinking of drugging it and beating it up good when it falls asleep."
