Chapter 608: Chapter 25: The Comedy of Errors (Part 2)
Upon hearing that Wang Shuai had kicked her, Romeo One emitted a disdainful electronic sound, "A man hitting a woman, that’s tasteless."
"I didn’t mean to, it was about here," Wang Shuai indicated, pointing vaguely towards the spot on Zhang Yiyi’s body where she had been kicked.
Romeo One then scanned Zhang Yiyi’s spine again, afterwards pricking her finger to draw some blood.
"Is she okay? Why would a living person turn out like this?" asked Wang Shuai, one of the more experienced students, who had never seen anyone practice to the point of ending up like Zhang Yiyi.
After completing its examination, Romeo One took a bottle of Farmer Spring water from the personal shelf and tossed it to Wang Shuai.
"I’m not thirsty, save her first," Wang Shuai said impatiently.
"It’s not for you to drink. You feed it to her. You’re the one who hurt her, so the cost is on you," Romeo One stated, and then it pulled out its cable port, preparing to connect to the central computer.
"Is her injury serious? Do you need to contact the central computer? Damn it, it’s all my fault. I didn’t see clearly and just kicked her," Wang Shuai said, knowing full well the power of his kick, enough to bend a steel bar straight.
Generally speaking, the Romeo robots at each supply center can handle external wounds and minor fractures, and they would not contact the central computer unless it was an internal injury or a severe one.
"Report, a mid-level Mutated Beastman has been found in Zone C, registration and documentation required. Preliminary analysis indicates a Lizard Man with mid-level beastification capacity. The report is complete." After reporting, Romeo One continued to rearrange the items on the shelf, without taking any rescue measures.
"Romeo One, come up with something, her complexion looks even worse," Wang Shuai fed Zhang Yiyi some water, and rather than improving, her complexion became even more troubling.
"For a prettier complexion, just place her on that light-colored table, then her face will look better," Romeo One quipped, rarely seeing Wang Shuai so flustered.
Skeptical, Wang Shuai shifted her position and indeed, her complexion soon improved.
"Did you hear my report? Among Superpower Users, there is a category called Beastified People. This new student is a Lizard Man. She may have encountered some emergency and automatically triggered the potential within her body for mimicry and color change. She doesn’t yet know how to use this ability. This must be her first time activating it; that’s why she used too much Qi. A few more training sessions, and it won’t be like this," explained Romeo One calmly.
There were also a few Beastman Superpower Users at the North Campus, but none as young as Zhang Yiyi and certainly none that had learned the "Chameleon" skill completely clueless.
Considering her great potential and the purity of her lineage, Romeo One reassessed Zhang Yiyi. After reporting to the administration through the central computer, it considered offering her specialized training later.
"Never mind whether she’s a Lizard Man, Romeo One, do you need to check her spine again? I’m sure when I kicked her, I heard the sound of bones breaking," Wang Shuai worriedly thought he might have caused a lifelong paralysis for someone.
After drinking some water, Zhang Yiyi had woken up and happen to hear what Wang Shuai said.
"It hurts, I think my spine must be broken," said Zhang Yiyi, her Baozi face back to its normal color, and her hair transitioning from leaf green to black. She spoke with a cry, pointing at her back.
"..." Romeo One stayed silent, seemingly in thought.
"Where does it hurt?" Wang Shuai hurried over, but didn’t dare to come close to check; he could only stand there helplessly.
"My spine is broken; you have to compensate me for medical expenses, mental damages, nutritional costs, and loss of income," Zhang Yiyi earnestly said, spilling out a long string of demands.
"..." Romeo One continued its silence. Romeo One thought to itself, it was a robot with a sense of justice; some lies, it was better not to puncture.

Xiao Xian realized she had made a wrong decision; she shouldn’t have veered off the main road of Zone C.
Once off the main road of Zone C, the further she walked, the more the rarely traversed side roads got swallowed by the wind and sand, erasing all traces, and the path became increasingly difficult.
Walking along the perimeter, the scattered buildings of Zone C also disappeared from view. To prevent circling the same spot, she made marks on every plant she encountered.
She had never been to this nearby area before, and she had already passed the same cactus three times.
The night sky was cloudless, with the sun’s position now swapped for the moon’s, and the temperature on the desert surface had already dropped, continuing to plummet.
"It seems like I’ve entered the middle zone," said Xiao Xian. Zone C was divided into three distinct areas: the residential zone, the middle zone, and the forbidden zone.
The simplest way to discern these areas was by looking at the terrain.
The terrain in the residential area was very flat, and with Xiao Xian’s vision, she could see miles away.
But now, the area she was traveling in began to show various sand ravines and occasionally valleys and depressions.
Strange sandy ridges made you slip back a large step after a few small ones, and with every few steps, you had to struggle to pull your feet from the sand whirlpools. Both Qi and time were slowly being worn away.
Several four-legged sand lizards scurried across the sand. Further ahead, the clusters of cacti and cattails had disappeared, and several white skulls—uncertain whether beast or human bones—were submerged in the sand, as if recounting the untold brutality of the desert.
"I can’t go on, if I do, I’m afraid I’ll enter the forbidden zone. I have to turn back," Xiao Xian felt thirsty. She looked up at the sky, hoping to find any star that could help her identify direction.
A gleam of light flashed in front of her, reviving the wilted spirit of Xiao Xian. She steadied herself and quickly walked towards it.(To be continued. If you enjoy this work, welcome to Qidian () to cast your recommendation ticket, monthly ticket. Your support is my biggest motivation.)
