Chapter 611: Chapter 27: Farming Equipment
"Wang Shuai, are you insane? Have you forgotten that fighting is not allowed on campus? If you dare to hurt a hair on Xiao Xian’s head, I’ll make sure everyone knows about your fiancée cheating behind your back," Zhang Yiyi hissed, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, clawing and flailing.
Wang Shuai turned his head mechanically, "My fiancée?" What he was actually more curious about were the next two words, "cheating." Such a phrase, coming out of Zhang Yiyi’s mouth, really was quite jarring.
Xiao Xian smiled awkwardly and stepped back, prompting Wang Shuai to release his grip, though his look still held a measure of wariness.
"Senior Brother Wang, regarding your fiancée, actually we know some things." It seemed that things had to be made clear. Xu Lan Ya, you can only blame your own incompetence, being caught out time and again, Xiao Xian thought to herself while speaking deliberately.
Talking behind people’s backs actually didn’t feel too bad.
Xiao Xian vividly recounted how Xu Lan Ya had committed murder on the mountain road, and then attempted to silence Zhang Yiyi. Right now, she and Yiyi weren’t strong enough; it was better to form alliances than make enemies. Although Wang Shuai seemed tough to deal with, from their few exchanges and the way he treated Zhang Yiyi, he didn’t appear to be a bad person.
"You say you’re from the Mei Family? No wonder you possess skills difficult for ordinary people to understand." Hearing that Xiao Xian was a descendant of the Mei Family, Wang Shuai’s initial wariness softened somewhat.
Though the Mei Family’s reputation wasn’t as resounding as before, its accumulated prestige still held; the Wang Family had to give it some deference.
After hearing about Xu Lan Ya’s story, Wang Shuai said he would soon need Xiao Xian’s help with something, then he hurried off. He needed to explain to his father that a woman with such a venomous heart could bring endless trouble to the Wang Family if she really became a part of it.
Not long after he left, there was another knock at the door.
This time, even Zhang Yiyi became nervous. Wang Shuai shouldn’t be coming back; they didn’t know anyone in Area C, so who could be outside?
Xiao Xian walked to the door, listened to the noises outside, and after hearing a familiar electronic tone, she opened the door.
Romeo One? No, why are there so many Romeos? Xiao Xian saw more than a dozen robots named Romeo, perhaps all the Romeos on North Campus had gathered here. From the numbers on their bodies, they ranged from one all the way to eighteen.
"According to Central Computer Shakespeare’s directive, freshman Zhu Xiaoxian is confirmed to receive the Area C Greening Project. Please inspect all accompanying facilities required for the greening project," they delivered the first batch of seeds for testing. There were more than thirty types of seeds, all suitable for planting in the desert.
Xiao Xian selected four types of plants that were easy to grow and had a high survival rate.
"Wasn’t there also a helicopter?" Zhang Yiyi didn’t know much about plants, but she remembered the helicopter used for seeding.
"Why ask about that? It’s just an experimental phase, besides, can you fly an airplane?" Xiao Xian was both amused and exasperated.
"I can’t. But no worries, just the thought of having a helicopter parked downstairs is pretty cool. It was officially assigned to us; we shouldn’t waste the opportunity. Plus, we have the mechanical genius Xuerou, right? Driving a car and piloting a helicopter is the same idea, when the time comes we could just sneak her in..." Zhang Yiyi made a surreptitious ’packing and bringing along’ gesture, clearly taking advantage of the fact that the robotic Romeos couldn’t understand much human language.
"The agricultural seeding helicopter has also arrived," Romeo One said as he dragged a box over.
"Romeo One, are you joking? A helicopter this small is at best a model," Zhang Yiyi grinned, and sure enough, the small box contained a remote-controlled helicopter.
"A new type of miniature helicopter, developed by Huake Institute, specially designed for small-scale seeding and watering of small areas. Simple to operate and easy to learn, it’s known as the ’idiot-proof’ among remote-controlled helicopters," Romeo One recited a set of promotional phrases fluently.
Zhang Yiyi was dumbfounded, then continued to lay on the mat, playing the patient.
Xiao Xian kept smiling on the side, continuing to listen to Romeo One explain the helicopter’s functions.
It turned out this modified helicopter, with a small electric motor attached, could carry up to ten kilograms of plant seeds and could repeatedly perform seeding operations at the height of roughly two storeys.
Don’t underestimate these machine helicopters; they could save a lot of time, and with the right operation, they could also increase yield and save labor.
