Capítulo 1893: Chapter 1893: So This Is Where You Are
Every day, her soul lived inside the tombstone, looking up at a corner of the sky above the cemetery.
She didn’t know why her soul was still there, perhaps she was waiting for something…
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter, year after year.
She didn’t know how long it had been, but one day, fine rain began to fall from the sky.
A black umbrella suddenly spread out over her.
A pair of black leather shoes appeared before her eyes.
She looked up and saw Ruan Tianling’s face —
He had aged a lot, his features appeared old, and some of his hair had turned white.
His dark eyes looked at her full of pain, causing Jian Yufei’s heart to ache as well.
“So you were here all along.” He raised a hand to touch the tombstone, as if caressing her head.
“I’ve been looking for you for so long, and it turns out you were hiding here.”
The fine rain was clearly blocked by his umbrella, so where were the water droplets splashing on her tombstone coming from?
“Did you think that by hiding forever, I would give up searching for you?” Ruan Tianling asked hoarsely.
Jian Yufei opened her mouth, sadly asking, “How did you find me?”
She was already dead, they were not of the same world; he couldn’t see her or hear her words.
“Now that I’ve found you, are you still waiting for me?” Ruan Tianling asked again.
This was the promise he once made to her.
After he died, he would wait for her below; if she didn’t come, he wouldn’t cross Naihe Bridge.
Jian Yufei was speechless. Was her soul still there because it was waiting for him?
“I think you’re definitely still waiting for me, I know you are waiting for me,” Ruan Tianling murmured as he withdrew his hand.
Then he pulled out a gun and aimed it at his heart.
Jian Yufei’s eyes widened in terror —
“No!”
She cried out, but he couldn’t hear her.
Ruan Tianling looked at her and smiled tenderly and affectionately: “Sorry to keep you waiting, I’m coming to you now!”
“No—”
“Bang—”
The gunshot and her voice rang out simultaneously.
“No!” Jian Yufei abruptly woke up from the nightmare, her eyes still filled with lingering fear.
The door was quickly pushed open, and Ruan Tianling rushed in, lifting her body up with worry, asking, “What’s wrong?”
Jian Yufei looked steadily at him, he was still alive and well, and so was she.
Ruan Tianling frowned, raising a hand to wipe the tears from her face.
“Why are you crying? Did you have a nightmare?”
Only then did Jian Yufei realize her face was soaked with tears.
She hugged Ruan Tianling tightly, absorbing his scent, and said nothing.
Ruan Tianling’s frown deepened.
He gently stroked her back and softly asked, “What exactly happened?”
“I had a nightmare.”
“Oh, what did you dream about?” Ruan Tianling asked.
Jian Yufei raised her head, not feeling so sad this time.
She smiled and said, “I dreamed that you didn’t want me anymore.”
Ruan Tianling’s face instantly darkened: “Be honest, what did you actually dream about.”
“I’m telling the truth, don’t you believe me?”
Ruan Tianling certainly didn’t believe: “I’d believe other dreams you have, but a dream where I don’t want you, how do you expect me to believe that?”
How could he possibly not want her? If there were nightmares, it would be him dreaming that she didn’t want him.
Jian Yufei decided not to joke with him anymore.
“Actually, I’ve forgotten the dream’s contents, but it was a very sad dream. However, they say dreams are the opposite, right? Does that mean my future life will be happy since I had an opposite dream?”
“Are you trying to comfort me?” Ruan Tianling asked.
Jian Yufei was puzzled: “Comfort you about what? Are you planning not to let me be happy?”
Ruan Tianling helplessly pinched her waist.
