Chapter 81: Chapter 72: You Really Are a Delightful Hero
Rephya carefully ate the sliced beef.
Chloe sat across from her, leaning sideways on the table, resting her chin in her hand, eyes fixed intently on Rephya.
"Can you get used to eating it?"
"I, I don’t really know much about food, but it’s quite tasty."
"As long as it’s tasty."
Rephya always felt like there were eyes watching her.
Facing Chloe, she had a faint illusion that her courage was waning, and given the place’s proximity to the school, she was always suspicious that classmates might be around.
Thus, she could only blush and whisper:
"Senior, you should order something too, don’t just watch me eat."
"No need for me, I have to see a mentor for a health check later, eating too much won’t be good."
He became cautious again in his actions.
The earlier slice of steak was merely a habit.
Aisha was a student in the Tachi class, a type within the broader Warrior category.
Though compared to those muscle-bound men taking the Titan Path, she ate much less meat in a day, it was still an astonishing amount for other specializations.
So after every meal, Aisha would still be eating meat.
At some point, he developed the habit of slicing steak for Aisha after finishing his own meal.
When the steak was brought over earlier, he instinctively had it placed in front of him.
It was only when he was about to cut into it that he realized something was off.
But after thinking about it.
It didn’t matter.
Just consider it feeding.
But Rephya never imagined Chloe would be so bold.
She recalled Chloe, before his death, winking and teasing her:
"What a pity, if only you were willing to have children, Rephya."
Gradually, her face turned red.
But Chloe didn’t pay attention to the girl’s bashfulness.
Rephya’s Holy Bone was a valuable thing.
Even if only part of it recovered, her foundation remained.
Finding her a good teacher was very important.
After pondering for a while, he said:
"Have you thought about what direction you want to take? I don’t mean a broad concept like a path, but what kind of warrior you want to be."
Rephya answered without hesitation:
"I want to be a sharp sword that can protect my teammates."
"Training the ability to use a sword and having the power to protect others can be balanced, but you’ll live as if life is worse than death. If you’ve decided, then hand me your phone first."
He pulled his chair to Rephya’s side.
Seeing her slow down, he said:
"Keep eating, I’ll help you find someone."
Rephya turned her face aside and stayed silent.
"Eat honestly."
Chloe repeated again.
"Oh~"
Rephya bowed her head, nodding in agreement a bit flustered.
Afraid of attracting attention from others, she chose to huddle up, her mind no longer on the taste of the beef.
She whispered in a voice as low as a mosquito’s:
"Senior, thank you."
Chloe’s ears perked up, and the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
Rephya was a good girl.
So he wasn’t too worried about the pressure from heroes.
She’s a girl who, when you treat her well, will earnestly try to repay you.
That’s why he was sincerely helping her select an excellent mentor.
As Rephya ate the sliced steak, her gaze quietly shifted towards Chloe.
Seeing him seriously browsing the schedule on his phone to help her choose courses, she finally felt relieved.
Yet, for some reason, she seemed a bit unhappy again.
"Have you been in touch with Fratiss recently?"
"Ah, yes, we even went out for dinner yesterday."
"Take a look at this first."
Seeing Rephya had finished the meat, he handed her his phone:
"You might consider choosing this, a teacher on the Warlord Path."
Rephya carefully wiped her fingers clean, took the phone, and directly selected the mentor.
Then Chloe flicked her forehead with his finger, saying aggressively:
"Why did you just select it directly?"
Rephya, feeling a bit wronged by his sternness, picked because senior told her to, so why scold her?
Seeing she didn’t understand his intention, Chloe shook his head and sighed inwardly.
"Always keep three points of caution, even if I help you choose, you should understand the reason behind it.
For people like us who become Extraordinary, there’s no avoiding being schemed against; remaining three points vigilant is the correct way."
Rephya opened her mouth slightly, just about to retort that if senior hadn’t hurt her before, she would have been very cautious.
"But, but senior never schemed against me."
With tears in her eyes, she whispered, "I don’t want to doubt my friends."
Only then did Chloe realize he hadn’t controlled his strength well earlier, seeing the girl’s forehead a bit red.
Damn it.
He forgot what his current talent was.
"Recovery."
He removed the mark on Rephya’s forehead, checked it, and ensured it was fine before saying:
"Sorry, I didn’t control my strength earlier."
"It, it’s okay," she whispered, "the Holy Bone is back, though only partially, I’m a lot tougher than before."
"Being tough is not a reason for me to hurt others."
Bullying Rephya in simulations was one thing, that was business.
But tormenting her in reality would make him a beast.
He explained to Rephya the reasoning:
"Mentor Diorna is from the Amazon lineage. Perhaps she hasn’t crossed the furthest in the Sequence on the Ethereal Emblem path, but her teaching ability is outstanding."
Perhaps worrying that Rephya might not have a concrete idea, he directly said:
"Have you seen Fratiss’s Sword Dance?"
Rephya’s eyes lit up as she nodded and said eagerly:
"Fratiss’s Sword Dance is amazing, exceptionally amazing."
It’s not that she lacks skill or purely relies on talent.
Her martial arts and combat skills are still impressive.
