Chapter 50: Four guest

Chapter 50: Four guest

It had been more than a week gone by now, and the time for the Raven Academy entrance exam was fast approaching. That morning, Raze was woken by the sounds of hooves hitting the stone ground of their compound.

His eyes opened, and he stared at the ceiling of his room, not moving at all. ’Did we get some visitors? This early?’’ he thought, then rolled to the side. He was completely exhausted; his mana was yet to fully recover, and after he stood using Qi, the fatigue set back in.

He decided to just lie there a bit and gather himself, but even when he chased after rest, rest ran away.

Knock knock.

"Young master, we have some people that want to see you," Elaine spoke from outside the door.

Raze heard that, and his mood immediately soured. "Arghhhhhh, can it wait?" he asked.

"You could possibly ask them to wait, but I suggest you don’t," she said.

"Tsk, who are they?" he asked, slowly rolling off the bed and onto his feet.

"I think it’s best you come yourself and see, young master," she replied.

He dragged himself like a zombie, rushing to wash his face and mouth before getting dressed quickly, then walked out. When he opened the door, Elaine looked at him, the bags under his eyes and the exhausted look on his face. She frowned. "Young master, on second thought, how about we have them wait?" she said.

"No no, I’m already up. Let’s get it done with," he said and walked past her, heading downstairs.

"They are currently in the lounge waiting for you," Sue informed him.

"Anything I should be wary about before I go in?" he asked.

"I don’t think so. I believe you can handle everything easily," she replied.

As soon as they got to the lounge, he walked in with Elaine following behind him. Inside, he saw four figures in total, a burly man, huge and tall, with short ginger hair and burning eyes. His clothes clung to his body, the muscles bulging beneath. If not for the high-quality material, it would have ripped.

When Raze saw him, the first thing that came to his mind was exhibitionist. He looked at the second person, a young, pale-skinned man with a frail body and glasses. He was dressed in the robes of mages and seemed like a scholar of some sort.

Then there was the third man. He was fat, yes, that was the first word that came to Raze’s mind when he saw him, fat. He sat there, covering almost half the couch. Finally, there was the woman. She looked like the definition of elegance. In a blood-red gown, she sat slender and beautiful, her hands gloved, her dress covering all the way to her neck.

’From the look of these three, they have some level of influence. Hmm... could it be about the perfumes? ’ Raze wondered.

When the four saw Raze, they were taken aback for a moment. The fat man was the first to speak. "What’s a kid doing here? Where is Raze Grimhold? How dare he keep us waiting and allow this child to come here?" he barked, then looked at Elaine. "You! You said you would bring in Sir Raze! Where is he?" he barked at her.

Raze looked at the man, his face carrying no emotion. The man met Raze’s gaze. "What the hell are you looking at, k—"

"Have some decency, Mr. Don," the scholar said, adjusting his glasses. He turned his head to look at the fat man. "We aren’t here for you alone, so please refrain from anything that will cause trouble for us as well," he said.

Don frowned. He was about to burst in anger, but then Raze spoke. "Aren’t you too big for all this?" he asked. The question shocked everyone. They looked at him with wide eyes. Did he just insult Don’s size? Even the ice-cold, elegant lady was stunned.

"You brat, you think because you’re a noble you can speak to me recklessly?" the man barked.

"Oh God, why do all fat people here have anger issues? Do you store rage in all those folds?" Raze asked, doubling down. "Don’t get me wrong, I love fluffy people, but when you’re like a teddy bear, you should have the attitude of one, cute and nice, not that of a rabid dog inside the body of a fat cow." His words came out harsh and uncontrolled.

"Young master—" Elaine tried to intervene.

"I know, I know," Raze said and finally kept quiet. He took a seat while looking at the rage burning in the man’s eyes.

The man slammed his fist into the table between them and got up. "I am one of the most well-known merchants in the city of Ravenhold, and well known throughout Vermilion! I’ll not allow a kid to speak to me however he wants!" Don said.

"You give what you get," the woman said, a soft smile on her face. The man heard that and looked at her. "Tsk, Lady Terra, I believed you and I had a better understanding of each other. Shouldn’t you side with me and ensure we take care of this kid?" he said, then looked at Raze. "He deserves punishment for what he has said to me!"

Terra slowly got to her feet, and Don got excited, happy that she was standing beside him. With her help, they could punish this kid and the Baron wouldn’t say a thing.

But the next moment shocked him, she gave a slight bow to Raze. He watched in disbelief, confused as to what was happening.

"My name is Lady Terra Crimson, daughter of the owner of the Crimson Auction House. It is a pleasure to meet the young genius behind the marvelous perfume and soap that Lady Rose Green showed to us.

I hope our business from here on out can be smooth and good," she said, her soft smile still there as she spoke.
