Chapter 143: Chapter 143 Not Even One Hundred Million Is A Lot
"Is he your son?"
"I’d like to thank your son on behalf of my son!" the man said to Su Xuan sincerely.
He even felt a vague sense of regret. Why couldn’t Su Xuan be his own son? Not only was he handsome, but he had an exceptional aura that made him stand out in any crowd...
But if the man knew Su Xuan’s net worth was at least double his own, who knows if he would still have that thought.
"Yes. He’s his son," Alice said, struggling to keep a straight face as she answered for Su Xuan with a mischievous glint in her eye.
Su Xuan immediately shot her a glare.
Hey! I’m so young and I’m not even married. Where would I get a child from?!
"That’s great, truly great!" the man said politely. "It’s true what they say: like father, like son!" Then, his gaze shifted to Alice. "And you must be their mother, right?"
"Huh?"
Now it was Alice’s turn to stare wide-eyed.
How did I end up digging a pit for myself? Do I really look like a woman who’s given birth?
The man wasted no more words and directly transferred 20,000,000 to Su Xuan! It was the exact amount Fang Chao owed him.
"You’re too kind." Su Xuan hadn’t expected to receive the 20,000,000, so now that the money was actually in his account, it felt like a pleasant surprise.
"It’s the least I could do," the man said, looking a bit sheepish. "Fang Chao is my only son. You saved his life, so twenty million is nothing. Even a hundred million wouldn’t be too much..."
At this, he handed Su Xuan a business card. "If you ever need my help with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask."
Su Xuan accepted the business card and said again, "You’re too kind."
Then, the man turned to Fang Chao, lifted his foot, and gave him a harsh kick. "Get your ass home, now!" he berated him. "Are you trying to embarrass me even more out here?"
"Sigh..." Fang Chao sighed, hanging his head as he walked out from under the rain shelter.
The man nodded apologetically to everyone present before leaving as well.
Next, Old Li officially announced the race results, bringing the competition to a close.
"Brother Su, I owe you a huge favor for this!" As he saw Su Xuan off, Cen Haonan gripped his hand tightly, his face filled with gratitude. "Come on, let’s go for a drink right now. Let me thank you properly!"
And while they were drinking, he could also make good on his promise to give Su Xuan a stake in the company.
"I really can’t right now," Su Xuan said with a smile, waving his hand dismissively. "I have to go to the high-speed rail station to pick up some leaders from my work unit. Some other day, okay?"
Cen Haonan’s face filled with deep regret. "Then we’ll have to do it another day."
"Yeah," Su Xuan agreed. "Another day."
Just as Su Xuan was about to get in the car and leave, someone suddenly grabbed his arm. A peculiar smell came with him.
Su Xuan glanced over and saw it was Han Shanchi.
Han Shanchi beamed at Su Xuan. "Can I borrow a few minutes of your time to discuss something?"
"What is it?" Su Xuan asked.
"After watching this race, I’ve discovered you’re a one-in-a-million racing genius," Han Shanchi said. "And I’ve coached several internationally renowned teams, leading them to multiple championships. If the two of us could cooperate..."
"Not interested," Su Xuan cut him off.
"My fee isn’t high," Han Shanchi pressed.
"Goodbye," Su Xuan said.
Then he got into the Charman King and drove off, taking Alice and "the child" with him.
"Sigh." Han Shanchi watched Su Xuan’s car disappear, letting out a deep sigh.
Now that Fang Chao has been dragged away by his old man, it’s unlikely he’ll ever set foot in the racing world again. Which means I’m unemployed. Neither Fang Chao nor I gained a single thing from this race! But this wasn’t how it was supposed to go at all!
"Mr. Han, are you in a rush to find a job?" a voice suddenly sounded by Han Shanchi’s ear.
He turned to see Cen Haonan. "What, you want to learn how to race?"
Cen Haonan laughed. "My dealership is opening soon, and I’m looking to hire a few salesmen. Considering your connections in the racing world, how about working for me?"
"A salesman..." Han Shanchi’s mouth twitched. He tossed out a noncommittal, "We’ll see," and walked away, looking dejected.

「On the way to the high-speed rail station.」
Alice suddenly said to Su Xuan, "There’s something I don’t understand. Why did Fang Chao’s father show up so suddenly? Fang Chao must have been racing without his father’s knowledge, so how did he find out?"
"Someone was secretly helping Brother Cen, but they didn’t do a perfect job. Otherwise, Fang Chao’s father would have appeared before the race even started," Su Xuan replied.
"That makes sense," Alice said. "In that case, we wouldn’t have had to waste our time racing. But who was helping Cen Haonan?"
"If I’m not mistaken, it was the referee, Old Li."
"How did you figure that out?"
Su Xuan replied succinctly, "A wild guess!"
Although he called it a wild guess, he wasn’t wrong. After Su Xuan left, Cen Haonan and Old Li had the following conversation.
"Old Li, was it you who tipped off Fang Chao’s father?" Cen Haonan asked.
"Yes," Old Li admitted.
"But that violates the agreement. It’s a serious enough breach to invalidate the entire race."
The agreement contained a confidentiality clause, stating that the race was not to be disclosed to any unrelated parties. This was something Fang Chao had repeatedly insisted upon before the race.
"It doesn’t matter now," Old Li said. "I didn’t get Fang Chao’s father here in time anyway. And the guy you found is truly formidable. He won the race so easily that my actions were rather superfluous."
"Why did you help me?" Cen Haonan asked.
"Mutual interest," Old Li said simply.
Considering Old Li was in the auto parts business, Cen Haonan asked directly, "Are you hoping I’ll buy parts from you once my dealership opens?"
"Correct."
"Then why didn’t you help Fang Chao?"
"He’s just a rich playboy; he’ll never amount to anything," Old Li said. "Besides..." He suddenly rolled up his sleeve, revealing the tattoo of a dragon’s tail.
Cen Haonan was astonished. "You... you were also in the life?"
Old Li nodded and clapped Cen Haonan on the shoulder. "A prodigal son’s return is worth more than gold. Work hard. Let’s get rich together!"
Cen Haonan nodded firmly. "Deal!"

It was already past one in the afternoon.
「In the lounge of the high-speed rail station.」
Lu Dachun was all smiles as he kept three people company. One was Yu Antai, the General Manager of the Marketing Department at Shunfeng Headquarters. Another was Ma Lanfang, the Manager of the Customer Service Department. Not only were they colleagues, but they were also husband and wife. The third was their young daughter, Yu Yu.
She was only seventeen or eighteen and had just finished her college entrance exams.
Her figure was explosive. To what degree? She had a slender waist and long legs, while her chest looked like it was carrying two large, water-filled balloons. If you were to poke them with a fingertip, they looked like they might just burst and splash water everywhere. Just looking at her, Lu Dachun had already secretly gulped down several gallons of drool.
Yu Antai claimed he was here for a work inspection, but in reality, he was just using it as an excuse to take his family on a trip. Lu Dachun was well aware of this, which was why he had specifically asked Su Xuan to treat them with the best hospitality.
"Lu," Yu Antai asked, crossing his legs, "you said Su Xuan would be here to pick us up soon. Why isn’t he here yet?"
"Please don’t worry, Manager Yu," Lu Dachun explained hurriedly. "He wanted to receive you properly, so he went to get the car washed. He’ll definitely be here in a few more minutes!"
"Excellent!" Yu Antai nodded with satisfaction. "This employee, Su Xuan, certainly knows how to handle things!"
Meanwhile, Su Xuan had just pulled into the high-speed rail station’s parking lot. His Charman King had just been through a mountain race, and you couldn’t imagine how filthy it was. The entire body was practically caked solid with mud. When the parking attendant saw the car, he almost thought a sentient pile of dirt had come to his lot to cause trouble...
