Chapter 754: Chapter 754 Surveillance
Xu Ke did not speak, he just quietly watched the man, and magically, under Xu Ke’s gaze, the man gradually stopped crying. He was belatedly aware of what had just happened when he saw the cold look in Xu Ke’s eyes. His expression first froze, then he widened his eyes and mouth, looking at Xu Ke with a terrified face.
"Finally remembered what you promised me before? I gave you a chance, but you didn’t cherish it, so you can’t blame me." The blade in Xu Ke’s hand kept dancing between his slender fingers, dazzling anyone who watched, and at the same time, it was hair-raising.
"That was just an accident, please give me another chance, just one last chance, I promise I won’t do it again, I’m begging you." The man looked at Xu Ke, who was approaching with the blade, and the first thing that came to his mind was the skinning mentioned earlier. The thought of being skinned made the man tremble uncontrollably. If he weren’t tied up now, he would probably have collapsed to the ground with weak legs.
He was not afraid of death, nor of the torture from sticks and electric shocks. What he feared were the strange and bizarre tortures of Xu Ke that made life worse than death. It was something he had never encountered before, only seen in movies, and now it was about to be executed on him in real life. That feeling wasn’t so pleasant.
Xu Ke looked at the man’s distorted face in loss of control and closed his own eyes; it was as if just one look was painful to the eyes.
Seeing Xu Ke close his eyes and not move forward, the man’s mindset gradually improved, and his tears slowly subsided. But at that moment, Xu Ke, who originally had his eyes closed, suddenly opened them, and the blade which was obediently dancing in his hand had now left a silver line on the man’s neck.
"You!" The man stared wide-eyed at Xu Ke, but his severed throat would not allow him to say anything more.
Blood spurted from the man’s wound, and a few drops splattered on Xu Ke’s face, leaving a line of blood beads on it, adding a bit of maliciousness and bloodthirstiness to Xu Ke.
"I said if you reoffended, I’d kill you, I wasn’t joking." Xu Ke wiped the place on his face where blood had just been splashed, leisurely looked at the person in the cage, and said: "I hope the next person I call out will honestly answer my questions and be a bit tidier. I cannot stand any filth; if I find any, I will kill you mercilessly."
Watching as a few people in the cage had a slight glint of relief in their eyes, Xu Ke revealed a sinister smile, "He was the first, so I gave him a quick death. But this doesn’t mean others will have such a preference. Those hoping to dirty themselves for a quick death can give up now. This is something that can never be achieved. If you reoffend after my warning, I will treat you with even more cold-blooded cruelty, understand?"
Xu Ke mercilessly shattered the bit of hope in their hearts, watching as the glimmer in their eyes dimmed once more.
As Xu Ke walked toward the cage to drag another person out, everything in the secret room was faithfully displayed on the screen. Claude watched as Xu Ke pulled another person from the cage and tied them to the cross.
"There’s something off about this person’s identity; surely he’s not just an ordinary equestrian teacher. No ordinary person kills without batting an eye and uses such brutal torture on a living person without any mental burden. I’ll investigate his identity," said a man who had been standing behind Claude like a shadow, watching the flaying torture performed by Xu Ke in the video.
Claude nodded, "You can investigate his identity, but don’t take action against him yet. Regardless of who sent him or what his purpose is, it’s undeniable that he’s capable, and I need such talent by my side to do my bidding."
"But keeping such a person by your side, young master, is like a ticking time bomb. What if it explodes and harms you?" The shadow-like man voiced his disapproval.
"Do you think I cannot handle a person like him?" Claude slightly turned his head and, with the corner of his eye, coldly spoke to the shadow man.
The shadow man immediately lowered his head in panic and explained, "I didn’t mean that; you misunderstood me. I just worry about you."
"How to use this person and when to dispose of him, I will decide on my own. You don’t need to worry about it; just focus on investigating him." Claude withdrew his gaze, keeping his eyes fixed on everything happening on the screen without blinking.
It was a display of violent aesthetics, a bloody feast, which even momentarily quickened Claude’s breath, but he carefully suppressed it. Even the slight redness at the corners of his eyes was suppressed, trying not to let it burst forth but still unintentionally leaking a bit.
When Xu Ke entered the secret room at noon, the sky was already turning orange from the sunset when he came out. The fiery clouds swept across the vast blue sky, making Xu Ke look up and fall into a brief daze.
Claude, who had been watching the monitors all along, appeared not far from Xu Ke. Seeing Xu Ke standing still, he walked up, stood in front of Xu Ke, and said, "It’s been hard for you to stay inside for so long." For once, an emotion of apology showed on Claude’s usually icy face.
"It’s not hard work; it’s my honor to work for you. It’s just a pity that the people inside are all small fry, and I didn’t get much from them." Xu Ke showed an embarrassed expression.
"Don’t say that; if we can get even a little information, it’s a gain for us. I should be thanking you." As Claude spoke, his eyes remained fixed on Xu Ke’s face. Perhaps it was the influence of the red sunset glow, but Xu Ke noticed a slight red hue spreading at the corner of Claude’s eye.
"You’re too kind." Xu Ke glanced at the corner of Claude’s eye again and then, with a calm tone, as if not noticing anything, began detailing the information he obtained from the secret room to Claude.
"Although all their testimonies point to Marian, I feel that Marian doesn’t seem smart enough to orchestrate this. To be frank, while Marian seems tough, she’s not very clever. She only knows how to use violence when facing problems, and what’s on her mind is all on her face. While arrogant and domineering in behavior, she’s essentially a fool. How could someone like that possibly cultivate these people?"
"What you say makes sense, but none of my father’s illegitimate daughters are simple people. Don’t trust such individuals too much; an inclination for acting seems to be ingrained in them. Don’t move." Claude found it irresistible and finally made a move toward Xu Ke.
