Chapter 353: Chapter 352: Do I Remember Him? (12)
The snow had unknowingly become heavy, swirling down and obstructing the view, yet strangely, she could still see him in the distance with a single glance.
A thin layer of white had already settled on the car roof, signifying that his car had been parked there for some time.
Dong Xin Yan paused, her delicate eyebrows furrowing bit by bit. How had he followed her here? What exactly... did he want?
He seemed to have seen her too. However, he didn’t get out of the car to come over and entangle her further. He just quietly watched her, silently, just watching.
Separated by a great distance, separated by the swirling snowflakes, the two stared at each other in silence.
After a few seconds, Dong Xin Yan felt as if something pressed down on her chest again, heavy and suffocating.
Why did she always inexplicably feel his sadness? Why did she feel hurt along with him...
What was happening to her?
Cheng Ziyang’s car drove over, abruptly blocking their line of sight. He got out of the car and wrapped Dong Xin Yan inside.
As the car turned around and left, Dong Xin Yan still unconsciously lifted her gaze, looking through the car window until they drove away and she couldn’t see anymore.
Old Chen watched as Cheng Ziyang’s car drove off into the distance. After waiting a few seconds, he spoke up, "Young Master, shall we return to the hospital?"
This time, he was speaking more persuasively rather than asking.
Gu Ningyi lowered his eyelids but still shook his head, then he said, "You stay here and wait, don’t get out."
After saying this, he pushed open the car door and walked toward the hospital.
-
The atmosphere inside the car was somewhat quiet. Dong Xin Yan slightly turned her face, looking at Cheng Ziyang.
His expression was as gentle as ever, and his aura was very calm, yet she knew that he didn’t seem very happy.
After being together for so many years, he understood her, and didn’t she also understand him?
He was always a gentle person, treating her with kindness down to his bones. He had never lost his temper with her or argued; he always pampered and coaxed her.
Even when unhappy, he would hide it, not letting her know.
Today, had she made him unhappy? It wouldn’t cheer any man to see his girlfriend wearing another man’s clothes.
Dong Xin Yan lightly bit down on her lower lip, then raised her hand. After removing the scarf, she proceeded to take off the coat.
Cheng Ziyang noticed her actions with slight surprise, "Xinxin, what are you doing?" Pausing for a moment, he seemed to think of something and continued, "If you’re not comfortable, just keep it on, don’t catch a chill."
"No, it’s very warm inside the car." Dong Xin Yan insisted as she took off the coat and the scarf, tossing them onto the back seat, and only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Cheng Ziyang gently curved his lips, reaching to turn up the heater.
Dong Xin Yan thought that perhaps now was a good time for explanation. She clasped her hands lightly, carefully considering her words, and spoke with her red lips slightly parted, "Ziyang, Gu Ningyi and I..."
Just as she spoke, Cheng Ziyang, as if knowing what she was about to say, interrupted her directly, "Xinxin, there’s no need to say anything, I trust you."
These four words were light, yet heavy. Dong Xin Yan’s heart suddenly felt warm.
-
Late into the night, Dong Xin Yan dreamed once again.
This time, the dream was not the recurring nightmare from before, but she dreamt of that handsome, ill-tempered, and blind-eyed youth, as well as that pretty, stubborn girl with an unpleasant voice.
