Mysterious Journey

Chapter 13: This Phoenix is So Beautiful!

Regarding Dumbledore's reaction to the three requests, none of it was beyond what Ellena had anticipated.

This was the advantage of being familiar with the characters' personalities. Unless the Dumbledore before her was a fake who had drunk Polyjuice Potion, based on Ellena's understanding of Dumbledore, most of the demands she made actually aligned with the principles that Dumbledore had always upheld.

In fact, Dumbledore could be said to be the most enlightened headmaster in Hogwarts' history. If it had been Professor McGonagall standing here, the atmosphere would definitely not be as relaxed and pleasant as it was now.

"Now then, Miss Kaslana," Dumbledore said with a smile, just as Ellena began to fantasize about her wonderful magical school life. "I have a small request here that I need to discuss with you briefly."

"Eh?!"

The silver-haired Veela hybrid blinked her eyes, a premonition of something not good suddenly arising in her heart, just like the atmosphere every time she got into trouble as a child and was caught by Benitez for education.

"Um… can I add another request, which is [Professor Dumbledore, you're not allowed to make any requests of me]?" Ellena raised her hand weakly, her eyes darting around, grabbing Dumbledore's hand and swinging it back and forth, charmingly pleading.

Although she didn't know what Dumbledore was going to say, opposing it in advance was always the right thing to do.

"It seems that quite a few owls delivering mail to Hogwarts have gone missing this year, Miss Kaslana. Have you heard about this?" Dumbledore, amused by Ellena's charming display, curved his lips into a smile and looked down at the silver-haired little loli, his gaze following his somewhat crooked nose, and asked in a gentle tone.

"Ha, hahaha. How would I know? Maybe they got heatstroke or got lost… Okay, Professor Dumbledore, what's the request?"

Ellena's sweet smile suddenly stiffened, and she let out a few awkward dry laughs. Under the silent pressure of Dumbledore's gaze, she dejectedly sat back down on the leather sofa chair in front of the piano.

"Don't be so serious, it's actually just a very simple point." Looking at the childlike Ellena, Dumbledore shook his head slightly and said solemnly.

"I hope you can promise that you will never cast the Unforgivable Curses on anyone, never let greed, hatred, and ambition cloud your pure soul, and never betray Hogwarts and the magical world."

"…Huh?"

The silver-haired little loli looked around subconsciously. Was he really saying such serious words to such a harmless cutie like her? It sounded like he was talking to some potential dark lord.

"But, Professor Dumbledore, that's more than one point," Ellena said with an awkward smile, trying to change the subject.

"Promise me."

Dumbledore repeated it once, unmoved, his sharp and bright azure eyes fixed firmly on Ellena's face.

It had to be admitted that as the greatest white wizard of the contemporary era, Dumbledore was indeed particularly imposing when he spoke seriously. At least, it was not a problem to intimidate a little loli who was outwardly strong but inwardly weak.

"Ugh, um, okay. I promise."

After a few seconds of eye contact with the old man, Ellena shifted her gaze uncomfortably, kicked the chair leg with her heel in a fit of pique, and hummed and hawed in agreement, although she wasn't interested in becoming some third-generation dark lord even if Dumbledore hadn't mentioned it.

Hearing Ellena's answer, Dumbledore nodded in satisfaction, adjusted the half-moon spectacles on his nose, and was about to say something.

Bang!

The door of the abandoned classroom was suddenly pushed open, and a giant over three meters tall bent down and squeezed in from the outside with difficulty. His face was almost completely covered by tangled long hair and dense, tangled beard, but you could still see his eyes like black beetles shining beneath the hair.

"Professor Dumbledore, I've finally found you. Tomorrow is little Harry's birthday, and we have to go pick him up…"

The giant said anxiously, his voice sounding like thunder. He stopped halfway, his gaze sweeping to Ellena, who was peeking out from behind Dumbledore, and he couldn't help but stop talking.

"Sorry, Professor, I didn't know you had a guest. I'll wait for you outside."

As he spoke, the giant scratched his face awkwardly and stomped his feet, preparing to go out.

"It's alright, Hagrid, I've just about finished talking with Miss Kaslana."

Dumbledore shook his head, signaling Hagrid not to leave. He turned to look at Ellena and said with a slight apology.

"I'm sorry, I have some things I need to discuss with this Mr. Hagrid first. If you don't mind, Ellena, you can wait in my office for a while—just go up the stairs next to that huge statue. You are welcome to enjoy the snacks, cookies, treats, and drinks in the room."

"All the food in the room can be eaten?" Ellena's eyes lit up.

Dumbledore thought carefully, making sure that there were no dangerous magical items placed in the headmaster's office, and nodded slightly, answering gently, "Of course."

"Okay, you guys talk, I'll go over there first."

The silver-haired little loli looked up, taking one last look at the giant Hagrid who had suddenly appeared in the abandoned classroom, recalling the descriptions of Hagrid in the original book. He was probably one of the most well-known people to most *Harry Potter* fans.

Compared to the actor's image in the previous life's movies, the Hagrid in front of him seemed to be even taller. However, knowing the giant's kind heart, Ellena wasn't afraid at all. Instead, as she passed by, she boldly stretched out her finger and secretly poked Hagrid's drooping forearm—the rock-like hardness made her almost think that she had poked a piece of granite with one finger.

"Professor, who is this child?"

Hagrid turned around, looking at Ellena hopping away from the classroom, and asked in confusion.

It was the first time he had met such a bold child who was not only not afraid of him but even dared to poke his arm.

"Ellena Kaslana, a very special new student," Dumbledore also saw Ellena's little action and shrugged helplessly.

After a pause, Dumbledore looked around, waved his wand to close the door again, and looked at Hagrid with a serious expression, "Now, let's not discuss her matter for now. Not only are we picking up Harry, but I also need you to go to Gringotts to get…"

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Ellena passed through the revolving staircase guarded by the giant stone gargoyle and walked to a slightly translucent oak door in front of her, with a bronze griffin knocker on it. She gently pushed the door open and walked in.

The walls of the room were covered with portraits of previous headmasters, male and female, each with an elegant expression. However, perhaps because Dumbledore was not present, the people in the paintings were either not there or were quietly closing their eyes to rest.

Just as Dumbledore had said, there were many foods piled up on the huge wooden table in the middle of the room, including cookies, candies, cakes, and other snacks.

Just as Ellena was about to step forward to taste the [Headmaster's Special Snacks], a strange sound suddenly came from behind her, as if someone was singing.

Ellena turned around and saw a magnificent, bright red bird standing on a perch behind the door. It was about the size of a swan, with a long, glittering golden tail and long, golden beak and claws—Dumbledore's pet, the phoenix Fawkes.

The phoenix, also known as the immortal bird, is a magical, immortal bird. The Latin poet Ovid said in his poem: "...However, there is one animal that is eternal and unchanging, and in the long years it regenerates an immortal copy. This is the bird that the Assyrians call the phoenix..."

This is a magical creature that is difficult to truly kill. When its body begins to weaken, it will actively enter the fire and be reborn from the ashes. Theoretically, no matter what damage its body has suffered, what attacks it has received, or even what parts are missing, it will miraculously recover after rebirth.

From the original book, the phoenix Fawkes is undoubtedly one of the most ideal pets for wizards: its tears can heal wounds, detoxify, and carry the weight of several people to fly. Its song has magic, and it can also stand guard and deliver letters. In Hogwarts, where Apparition is not possible, Dumbledore can also use its power to disappear from the headmaster's office instantly (when DA was caught by the Ministry of Magic), and even "flash" to help its master withstand fatal damage (directly swallowing Voldemort's Avada Kedavra curse and being reborn).

Therefore, in Newt Scamander's book *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*, the phoenix is classified as a XXXX super-advanced magical creature. The only reason it is not listed in the Ministry of Magic's (M.o.M) classification level five is simply because the phoenix is not an animal that kills wizards and has been proven by Dumbledore to be tamable.

"This phoenix is so beautiful."

Ellena looked at the phoenix Fawkes's towering chest and strong, powerful wings with fiery eyes, and licked her lips subconsciously:

If she remembered correctly, Professor Dumbledore had just said—all the food in the room can be eaten, right?
