Mysterious Journey
Chapter 469: The Dark Arts Defense of the Demon King (Part 2)
Dementors, one of the most detestable creatures in the world.
They swarm in the darkest, most filthy places, reveling in decay and despair, sucking all peace, hope, and happiness from the air around them. Being too close to a Dementor means good feelings, any happy memories, are sucked away.
These are one of the few creatures created by wizards' magic, or rather, weapons.
Their only purpose is to be used against humans, whether they are Muggles or wizards...
And at this moment, countless Dementor phantoms were flitting through the classroom, emitting a chilling aura.
An infinite malice seemed to suddenly surge from Grindelwald, causing everyone to feel a momentary breathlessness. The excitement that had just risen was instantly doused with a bucket of cold water, chilling them from head to toe.
The successive transformations of magical light and shadow almost temporarily deprived all the students' brains of their ability to think.
Grindelwald's lips curved slightly, and the smile on his face became particularly cruel.
"Your pitiful Defense Against the Dark Arts textbooks will advise you to think about happy things as much as possible, and then use the Patronus Charm to drive away or even defeat those terrible Dementors. However, this knowledge riddled with loopholes will definitely not be the only path I impart to you. No one can face a pack of Dementors alone with the Patronus Charm!"
"Once Dementors lock onto their prey, they will affect their mind, constantly plunging the target into fear and despair—in this situation, almost no one can recall enough power to repel the Dementors! In other words, the Patronus Charm is only a magic to help others, not to protect yourselves!"
"The foolish textbook authors, in order to show off the little knowledge they possess, have ignored too many crucial details!"
"Even to the point that most mediocre wizards later forgot a most basic question—if only the Patronus Charm can truly fight against Dementors, then how did those extremely terrible Dark Wizards drive and rule the Dementors?!"
"The answer is very simple, because there is another way that is particularly useful when fighting against this semi-corporeal creature, a spell that allows wizards to stand above magical creatures and become the rulers of this world."
"The Avada Kedavra Curse, unstoppable, unbreakable, irreversible, impartial to any living being."
Grindelwald's face gradually became serious as he surveyed the students around him, who dared not even breathe loudly.
"Let me tell you a very simple truth, this pile of books written in front of you can be summed up in one sentence—when facing a creature, if you can't kill it, then it's best to run as far away as possible."
"Apparition, of course, this is the most effective way. If that doesn't work, there's always a broomstick."
Grindelwald said softly, his voice slowly lowering, but filled with even more danger.
"In fact, as a qualified wizard, there is theoretically only one monster in this world that can threaten your life. The most terrifying creature in this world, all other beings pale in comparison—another wizard. This is the only being that can threaten a wizard's life when he is awake."
Grindelwald pursed his lips, his gaze subconsciously glancing towards Eileen, who was sitting not far away.
According to Grindelwald's original plan, even a little devil like Eileen would show some shock or some extreme reaction when faced with his shocking magic introductory class.
In fact, he had been paying a small amount of attention to that girl.
However...
Unlike most of the pale-faced students, the white-haired furball did not show the slightest sign of being startled. Instead, she raised her head with interest, thoughtfully looking at the Dementors still floating in the classroom, lightly licking her lips.
Obviously, Grindelwald's previous sound and light show had no deterrent effect on Eileen.
The first-generation Dark Lord subconsciously recalled the "Acromantula Graveyard" he had seen a few days ago.
Although he could have used a simpler and more efficient method to complete the slaughter, the pure cold weapon brute force crushing was still a completely different visual impact from magical killing.
Perhaps, above wizards, there is another more terrifying creature...
Grindelwald only stayed for a few seconds before quickly regaining his composure and looking back at the tense little faces around him.
Well... but fortunately, there is only one such white-haired furball in this world.
"Of course, everyone doesn't need to worry."
Grindelwald waved his wand, dispelling the golden phantoms swaying in the air.
"At Professor Dumbledore's request, I will still reluctantly teach you some unimportant content. At least enough to allow you to successfully pass the school exams, and the O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s you may face in a few years... But if you want to pursue higher scores, please waste your time learning those shoddy textbooks written by shoddy wizards."
"I won't waste time teaching you how to drive away banshees, or how to remove pests hidden in the garden. All you can learn from me is one thing—how to use magic to fight, whether it is to attack actively or defend passively, this is not something that can be learned by sitting in the classroom and taking notes."
After pausing for a few seconds, Grindelwald suddenly became serious and raised his voice.
"Now, everyone stand up!"
Grindelwald narrowed his eyes and looked happily at the obedient students.
The teaching experience of the past few days had gradually allowed him to slightly experience some of what Albus Dumbledore had said, the joy of being an educator. This was indeed easier than painstakingly trying to persuade and understand others—if only the students of Hogwarts could be a little smarter and not so rigid.
*Snap.*
The old wizard lightly snapped his fingers, and all the desks and chairs in the classroom instantly disappeared.
The next moment, Grindelwald saw a hint of solemnity and shock in the eyes of the white-haired furball not far away. The way she looked at him finally carried a hint of awe and curiosity, just like the other little wizards.
Wandless magic, wordless spells, plus multi-casting, the high-difficulty Vanishing Charm...
Eileen reached out and touched the air in front of her with a serious expression. This was not the kind of 3D magical effect she could cast just now. This was the powerful strength possessed by wizards at the top of the magic world!
It seemed that her "benevolent pre-emptive interruption plan" (referred to as the "Save the Old Dark Lord Plan") aimed at Gellert Grindelwald—in order to prevent the Defense Against the Dark Arts curse—had to be re-planned.
The first-generation Dark Lord grandpa, who gradually recovered his strength, was more powerful than she had imagined.
"Phew... I finally managed to scare this little one."
Grindelwald breathed a sigh of relief silently in his heart after taking a look at the silent Eileen.
If he still had the Elder Wand in his hand, he could indeed achieve the same scene with a wave of his wand, but that wouldn't be able to shock Eileen to the greatest extent. Furthermore, the after-school special training plan wouldn't be able to continue.
Fortunately, before this class, he had specifically asked Albus Dumbledore to secretly complete this seamless cooperation in the classroom next door, using the Hogwarts headmaster's privileges and his superb Transfiguration skills.
As for the signal, it was naturally the sentence "Now, everyone stand up!"
"Alright, now let's officially start this class. Take out your wands!"
