"…Sigh."

Dumbledore shook his head, not responding to Grindelwald's words.

Both of them were old men who had lived through that cruel era. Often, they only needed to know a few details to deduce most of the situation. Dumbledore had heard something about what had happened in that distant land, but on the one hand, there was no reason to interfere, and on the other hand, he simply had no interest in bothering with it.

Looking at the current magical world, the entire European region had been affected by the flames of war.

The Soviet Union had suffered heavy losses, but other countries had also suffered to varying degrees. In that situation, the only ones who had escaped unscathed and preserved a large amount of civilization and population were the United States, whose homeland had not been attacked - well, of course, in a sense, there was also France.

In short, Grindelwald's meaning was clear.

Regardless of whether they had been on the same front against enemies, at least from the current situation, the magical world and the non-magical world had not yet found a truly peaceful way to coexist. Persecution and suspicion between people were not so easily eliminated.

This was not just because magic created a difference, but because they were all human - whether Muggle or wizard.

"So, in that case, you agree with Elena's point of view?"

Dumbledore picked up a slice of strawberry cake, thought for a moment, and then put it down rather heavily.

"You also think that we need to create more deterrent weapons... um, some dangerous weapons that they can understand... so that we can form a standoff with Muggles, forming the kind of unstable peace that exists between the Soviet Union and the United States?"

"Yes, and no. Let's eat something first, and we can talk while we eat..."

Grindelwald looked at the preoccupied Dumbledore and casually picked up a cake from the table, handing it to the old wizard.

"I specially traveled thousands of kilometers to buy these cakes and desserts from Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. If I remember correctly, it's been a long time since you've had these, hasn't it? Give it a try."

Ever since the two of them swapped identities some time ago and jointly "acted" on Elena once, Dumbledore's meals had never included any high-sugar, high-calorie, or high-fat foods, only healthy and balanced nutritional meals for the elderly.

In comparison, Grindelwald's life was undoubtedly much happier.

Although his stable food ticket had been temporarily sent to the hospital for recuperation a while ago, the subsequent "Mandate of Heaven Strategy" allowed him to occasionally go on business trips to improve his meals under the guise of maintenance and inspection – away from Hogwarts, Grindelwald was free to eat whatever he wanted, and he could even secretly bring back some snacks and desserts.

"Indeed, we need weapons, but not now."

After a slight pause, Grindelwald continued.

"Simply strengthening ordinary explosives is far from enough. Neither the deterrent effect nor the strategic significance is significant. If we only show it bit by bit, it will only intensify the conflict. If we are to plan in this direction, then we need more, stronger, and more comprehensive preparations, and then release them all at once at the appropriate time."

"But… doing so, the risk would be too great, wouldn't it?"

Dumbledore pondered for a few seconds, shaking his head slowly, with a hesitant expression on his face.

Clearly, from Grindelwald's meaning, he, like Elena, had already regarded the non-magical world as a hypothetical enemy in the future. The only point of disagreement was that... the current yield was still too small?!

Dumbledore absentmindedly scooped up a spoonful of strawberry cake and slowly put it into his mouth, thoughtfully saying.

"Perhaps, this is already enough? The changes in the non-magical world this time, in my opinion, are even a chance for peace. If we can take this opportunity to have the Muggles destroy those dangerous weapons, then the magical world doesn't need to..."

"Albus! You still don't understand what war is."

Grindelwald chuckled, with a hint of mockery and helplessness in his eyes, and said with a cold laugh.

"Threats are never the reason for the outbreak of war. Profit and ambition are - and the prerequisite for determining profit is the size of the price that needs to be paid. Actively making oneself weaker will not bring peace, but will attract more prying eyes. As for the dangers you are worried about… aren't there enough dangerous spells in the magical world? Can you destroy them all?"

"Then what do you think we should do, if it were you?"

Dumbledore frowned. His original idea was to have Elena refocus her energy on magic.

By placing certain restrictions, he wanted Elena to stay away from these dangerous behaviors, but considering that he had failed twice in such attempts before, he was going to take Grindelwald's advice this time.

After all, the Dark Lord must know the Dark Lord's way of thinking better – as fellow unstable factors who studied dangerous knowledge during their school days, Grindelwald certainly knew better how to deal with a little devil who showed a hint of danger.

"Simple, support her ideas! Not just condoning, but openly supporting."

Grindelwald tapped his finger on the pile of "experimental records" left by the girls and grinned.

"Since she wants to study this area, then let her go ahead and do it."

"Magical Chemistry? It's indeed a good name. Over the years, we first blocked knowledge related to alchemy, runic literature has gradually become textual research, and magical zoology has become the preservation of magical creatures... The wizards of the Ministry of Magic have been annihilating and castrating their culture and knowledge."

The First-Generation Dark Lord's mockery flashed across his face, and he raised his head to look at Dumbledore, saying in a deep voice.

"Think about it, Albus. How many years has it been since a new discipline has appeared in the magical world?"

"But, this is an extremely dangerous, and immature..."

Dumbledore shook his head, subconsciously retorting.

As a professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he naturally first considered the feasibility of teaching.

"Ha. In the magical world, where is there a truly safe subject? Whether it's Transfiguration, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts... even Potions and Herbology, which one was completely mature and harmless from the very beginning?"

Grindelwald sneered disdainfully. Durmstrang expelled him from school for studying war magic, but they never thought that if it hadn't been for wizards who had studied these spells, the world would no longer belong to humans.

Facing Elena, who was even further ahead and more talented than him, Grindelwald naturally had a better way.

"Albus, if you're worried that this discipline is immature, then you might as well put it out in front of everyone in a generous manner, treat it as a completely new discipline prototype, and let everyone participate in the discussion and polishing."

"If you are worried about its danger, or worried about the safety of other students in the school, then why not simply build an experimental site for that little one, equipped with various safety measures and the necessary experimental props and environment?"

"..."

Faced with Grindelwald's rhetorical question, Dumbledore was silent for a while, then took a long breath.

"Well, I understand… Gellert, but there is still an important prerequisite…"

In the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts late at night, Dumbledore stood up, looking at the dark castle grounds outside the window.

And in the darkness further away, that behemoth hadn't yet exhaled its last breath.

"That is… the Soviet Union may indeed disintegrate, and the situation may eventually collapse as Elena said… Before that, Hogwarts had better not make any conspicuous moves, otherwise we are likely to become the outlet for everyone's contradictions… Let's wait and see patiently…"

"The only thing I don't understand is… why, everything is happening together this year…"
