Mysterious Journey
Chapter 521 Fireside Chat
"Huh, Elena, did you also receive a Weasley family special sweater?!"
Just then, the Weasley twins, who had just shaken off the snow on their bodies by the door, walked over. They glanced at the bright red hand-knitted sweater Elena was wearing and reached out to pull the white fur ball buried in the pile of gifts.
"Come to think of it, you're right! I didn't notice just now..."
Ron looked at Elena's clothes in surprise. The girl had a large letter "A" printed on her chest, and from the style and stitching, it was exactly the same as the dark purple-red sweater he was wearing.
Not only that, but when Elena stood up and looked around, it seemed that everyone in the Gryffindor common room was wearing a sweater knitted by Mrs. Weasley, looking like a family gathering.
Fred and George's sweaters were blue, and thanks to the large yellow letters "f" and "g" on the clothes, they could finally be identified temporarily. Percy, who was sitting in the corner reading a book, didn't say anything, but he was also wearing a sweater with the letter "p" on it. Even Harry was now wearing a bright green sweater.
Fred touched the corner of Elena's clothes, curled his lips, and said with a look of sorrow.
"Elena's sweater is obviously better than ours. Now girls are more adorable in Mum's eyes."
"Don't just say girls, look at Harry's, it's even more elaborate than ours."
George Weasley echoed, half-jokingly, and let out a strange cry.
"No, I..." Harry explained a little awkwardly.
But before he could finish, George Weasley turned to Elena and asked curiously.
"But speaking of which, why would Mum knit a sweater for Elena too?"
"Because I wrote to Mum saying that Elena has been taking extra care of you... well, us."
Percy Weasley, sitting in the corner, closed his book and shrugged, explaining with a smile.
"Elena, Mum said she is very grateful for your care for us in the *The Quibbler* submissions, and if they two violate the rules, hang them on Mr. Filch's monthly list, don't give them special treatment - you probably don't need more gifts, so Mum knitted this sweater for you."
"Well, I received Mrs. Weasley's Christmas card."
Elena nodded sweetly, raised her hand and touched the beautiful and warm sweater on her body, her eyes narrowed happily like a cat - the only flaw was that the letter A on her chest made her feel a little complicated.
Although she knew that it was actually the initial of her name, she had a feeling that something was being implied.
"Actually, I just built a platform. I explained to Mrs. Weasley that the magazine chose to publish your manuscripts and pay royalties only because of your talent, not any other factors."
Elena added with a smile.
During this period, as the actual operator of *The Quibbler*, she had a lot of interaction with the four Weasley boys. Under her deliberate care, the acceptance rate of Percy and others' submissions was significantly higher than that of other students, and the royalties were also paid as much as possible within a reasonable range.
However, Elena didn't intend to use these behind-the-scenes things to gain anything - for her, she just wanted to make this kind and warm family live a happier life than in the original book within her ability.
As Percy Weasley took the initiative to join the discussion, the Gryffindor common room gradually became lively.
Ron also put away the chessboard, giving George and Fred two armchairs near the fireplace.
The children who stayed at school surrounded the warm fireplace, eating various snacks and desserts that Elena brought down, as well as grilled sausages and bread from the kitchen, and chatting idly.
"By the way, Elena, Harry, I encountered a question."
Percy picked up a Ferrero Rocher chocolate set wrapped in a Christmas gift box, studied the words on the outside of the package (he initially thought it was some kind of spell), and then looked at Harry and Elena curiously.
"It is said that Muggles in the non-magical world also celebrate this festival?"
"Eh? You mean Christmas... isn't this a festival derived from the Church? If I remember correctly, it's a festival to celebrate the birth of Jesus - the Son of God in Christianity. I always thought this was due to the incomplete integration of the customs of the two worlds hundreds of years ago..."
Elena blinked her eyes in confusion. As an "uncertified" novice nun, she wasn't particularly interested in this festival, but whether in her previous life or this life, she still knew a little about the origin of Christmas.
Therefore, she had never thought about this issue in so many days.
After all, for Elena, this was just a conventional festival celebration in the Western world. Shouldn't everyone living here happily decorate a shiny Christmas tree, cook turkey and potatoes, and then put a large sock by the bed or tree, waiting for the old man with a white beard and a red hat to come and give gifts?
"Of course not, why would wizards celebrate the Muggle Church's festival."
Percy Weasley glanced at Elena rather strangely, shaking the big book he was reading earlier in his hand.
Elena then noticed that the cover of the book read *Magical Feasts and Ceremonial Origins*.
"Christmas, perhaps as you said, it is considered a Christian festival in the non-magical world, but long before that Muggle religion budded, the magical world had already begun to decorate Christmas trees and hold various ceremonies to celebrate this festival."
Looking around at the little wizards who were showing curiosity, Percy Weasley cleared his throat subconsciously, opened the large book in his hand, and pointed to a large paragraph of text on the yellowed parchment, reading softly.
"Mithras, this is one of the few imaginary gods believed in by the wizarding world during the solar calendar. It does not exist as a real individual, but is just a unified figurative description of certain phenomena and abilities by wizards, similar to Death. And Christmas is a celebration used to celebrate the god Mithras."
"In some ancient languages, such as Sanskrit and Avestan, 'mitra-' can be interpreted as 'contract' or 'companion', so the original meaning of the god Mithras was the god of contract, but later he was also called the god of light, the sun god... and even the god of war, but his nature as the god of contract has not disappeared."
After pausing slightly, Percy glanced at Elena and others, and lowered his voice mysteriously...
"The following content can only be seen by true wizards."
