Mysterious Journey
Chapter 1154 S.H.I.E.L.D (Part 1)
The first light of dawn brightened the horizon, and the thin mist gradually dissipated in the morning light.
Near the southern edge of the village, nestled among the small hills and trees, stood a rather large, dilapidated house.
This was the home of the Arthur Weasley family. Apart from the garden with a small lake and the yard surrounded by hedges, the only difference compared to other wizarding families' residences was the newly built garage next to the crooked four-story house.
According to the information registered with the British Ministry of Magic, the official name here should be "Weasley Manor."
However, the Weasley family never called it that.
They preferred to call it "The Burrow."
As usual, Arthur Weasley was awakened on time by the banging of pipes in the attic.
Since his youngest daughter had also gone to Hogwarts, The Burrow had suddenly become deserted. Perhaps that was why the ghoul living in the attic had become much more irritable, making noises from time to time. For example, seven thirty in the morning was one of its new performance times.
Mr. Weasley lay quietly in bed, savoring the fading dream. He seemed to have dreamed that he had been transferred to a brand new office.
Slowly, the aroma of fried eggs wafted up from downstairs, and hunger quickly filled every cell in his brain.
Without waiting for his wife's voice from below, he jumped out of bed and put on his glasses.
Mrs. Weasley had already placed the freshly laundered wizard robes, shirt, and tie at the foot of his bed. He groped for them and put them on.
Anyway, if nothing unexpected happened, he probably wouldn't get any promotions in his life. The good thing of changing offices was just a dream for him. There was no need to tell Molly about it as small talk – besides, compared to his job at the Ministry of Magic, he now had a more interesting part-time job.
Arthur Weasley thought of the steel behemoth floating in the sky, and his mood suddenly improved a lot.
"Breakfast is ready. By the way, Arthur, can you come home early today?"
Mrs. Weasley glanced at her husband who had pushed open the door, and while speaking, she took out her wand and hurried towards the fireplace.
"Hmm? I'll try, if there are no emergencies – is there something up?"
"Mrs. Stroupe invited us to their house for dinner tonight, and to discuss the engagement. I want to go to Diagon Alley to see some gifts."
Molly Weasley glared at her husband, "Also, you'd better talk to George in private later. If he doesn't want to worry about his school graduation exams when the baby is born, he needs to learn to restrain himself. This kind of thing is not suitable for me to remind him, you know?"
"Eh?! George is doing well – uh, I mean –"
Mr. Weasley glanced at his wife's raised eyebrows and quickly changed his words.
"This is too inappropriate, this is very wrong, that little rascal really needs to be educated!"
"Well, I'll find an excuse to sneak out early this afternoon, and then we'll go to Diagon Alley together, okay? As for George, I'll take some time to go to Hogsmeade village next weekend. They'll go there on weekends to shop and buy things, and I'll chat with him then."
"Better that way, by the way. When are you going to tell me what exactly is that part-time job Professor Dumbledore introduced to you?"
Mrs. Weasley snorted lightly and suspiciously looked up and down at her husband who was eating breakfast, and asked curiously.
For the past few months, apart from his daily work at the Ministry of Magic, Arthur Weasley had been holed up in the study reading books after getting off work.
When Mrs. Weasley cleaned the study, she roughly glanced at them. Most of them were books about Muggle gadgets, and there were many short annotations and rough sketches next to them, which looked like children's doodles, but she knew how much time her husband had spent on them.
In addition, Arthur Weasley was going out to work overtime more and more times, sometimes even going abroad.
In fact, Molly was able to restrain her curiosity at first.
But as time went by, she couldn't help it.
"Oh, you mean that? Didn't I tell you? The job content is top secret."
Arthur Weasley said vaguely while eating bread, "But, don't worry, it's definitely not a dangerous or shady underground job. I said, it's a super huge multinational magic cooperation project, you'll know later... Don't worry."
"Super huge... Multinational... Magic cooperation project?"
Mrs. Weasley raised her eyebrows again and continued to ask.
"Then, no matter what, there must be a responsible organization or department, right? The Order of the Phoenix? Or the Ministry of Magic?"
"Actually, neither..."
Arthur Weasley looked at his wife's expression and sighed helplessly.
"Okay, I can tell you the name of the responsible organization, but it hasn't been officially established yet, and it's still a to-be-determined name known only to a few people... According to Professor Dumbledore's previous statement, the magic governments of various countries are still in the negotiation stage. After all, as you know, there are too many details and content to negotiate for the establishment of a multinational magic organization..."
"So... the name?"
"Well..."
Arthur Weasley shrugged and said while cutting his fried egg.
"The official name is very long, but the abbreviation is very interesting, I remember it should be..."
"S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
