Mysterious Journey
Chapter 1159 Mrs. Weasley is Gentle Today
Three relatively unknown non-magical towns nestled along the riverbank.
The Burrow was conveniently located near the village of Ottery St. Catchpole, one of them.
In fact, most wizarding families, when choosing a location, wouldn't opt for a completely desolate place.
Even though magic could solve most of their daily life problems, they still needed the help of the Muggle community for certain things.
The most obvious of which was the source of ingredients for their daily meals. Mr. Weasley might not know how to identify pounds, but Mrs. Weasley had to learn how to buy groceries—though, in recent months, she had barely visited the market in Ottery St. Catchpole.
Because not far from the Burrow, a magical town for wizards had sprung up.
Compared to the distant Diagon Alley and the Muggle town market filled with Muggles, this newly established wizarding town had far too many advantages.
In less than half a week, this town, which had sprung up around the headquarters of *The Quibbler*, had become a favorite haunt for witches in the area, especially magical housewives like Mrs. Weasley. When they had nothing to do, they would spend most of the day there, browsing the market stalls while casually chatting about the trivialities of life. It was a new type of social activity for wizarding wives.
Naturally, Mrs. Weasley was no exception.
Although the news in the paper today was very unsettling, the note at the end, "no casualties," greatly alleviated her worries.
Therefore, after tidying up the kitchen, Mrs. Weasley followed her original plan and went to Quibbleton to shop. Although she was going to the Stripp's home for dinner tonight, it was her son who had "made the mistake," so Mrs. Weasley intended to buy a few bottles of wine as a housewarming gift.
As for the cost of the wine? This would naturally be deducted directly from the royalties she was holding for George.
…
"60 Galleons… hmm… can't you give me a better price? Alright then—"
Quibbleton Magical Town, Varyag Wines.
Mrs. Weasley tried to negotiate the price one last time, shrugged, and placed sixty gold coins on the counter.
When Molly Weasley had thoroughly interrogated George about the specifics of the relationship, she almost pulled out her wand on the spot to blast that little rascal.
Frankly speaking, if Ginny were ever to encounter such a thing, she and Mr. Weasley would grab the guy at the first opportunity and take all possible measures to make him understand what justice was—in comparison, the two Stripps were quite restrained.
Of course, as a mother, Molly Weasley was somewhat gratified.
Compared to her eldest, second, and third sons, George was indeed much more proactive.
Once Arthur came home from work, and the two families sat down together to discuss the details of the engagement, the mess the two children had made would be settled.
However, the Ministry of Magic today—should be very busy, right?
Mrs. Weasley thought of the newspaper from this morning and felt inexplicably worried.
I hope Arthur doesn't have to work overtime…
Thinking this, she picked up the wrapped wine from the clerk and walked towards the other end of the town.
"Oh, Molly? Don't you usually not drink much wine?"
Just then, Mrs. Weasley heard someone calling her from nearby.
She looked up and saw a witch with light brown hair—Amos Diggory's wife, who lived not far from the Burrow.
Since Quibbleton had become popular, she and Mrs. Diggory often ran into each other here.
Since both of their husbands worked at the Ministry of Magic and both had children attending Hogwarts, they quickly became acquainted.
Compared to the secret rivalry between the men, the two housewives had a much better relationship. When their husbands were out working, they would occasionally visit each other's homes, sharing life's trivia and wizarding gossip, forming a miniature housewife circle.
"Drinking? This isn't for drinking, it's a gift for someone—"
Mrs. Weasley glanced at the wine in her hand, sighed lightly, and waved the bag in her hand helplessly.
"Didn't I tell you, my fourth son, he's with the Stripp's daughter… The children don't know the limits, but fortunately, the Stripps are easy to talk to. Our two families discussed it and decided to settle the matter between the two children, so there will be a conclusion."
"So, your family will soon have another 'Mrs. Weasley'?"
"Not so fast, it's just an engagement, the official wedding will have to wait until George graduates—"
Mrs. Weasley shook her head and looked curiously at Mrs. Diggory's empty hands.
"Well, Angie, aren't you here to buy groceries today? Or did you not like anything you saw at the market today?"
In her memory, Mrs. Diggory liked to buy all sorts of trinkets, so seeing her empty-handed was rare.
"Of course not—"
Mrs. Diggory shook her head and pointed to the store next door, saying with a smug whisper.
"Amos is paying inside, the things are all there with him—the Ministry of Magic rarely has a day off, I have to squeeze and order him around."
"The Ministry of Magic… hmm… a day off today?"
Molly Weasley raised her eyebrows slightly, repeating the phrase thoughtfully.
"Yes, have you seen the news? It's terrible! The Ministry of Magic is full of repairs and cleaning, it will probably take until at least next Tuesday to fully recover—of course, not everyone is on holiday, I heard the Aurors are very busy now. But that's normal, after all, the Dark Wizards were arrogant enough to break into the Ministry of Magic, they certainly can't rest, I hope they can catch those guys soon—"
Not noticing Mrs. Weasley's slightly subtle expression, Angie Diggory spoke quickly with a look of lingering fear, while looking around.
"By the way, where's Mr. Weasley? Didn't you ask him to come along?... Molly, I have to say, you're too good to Arthur."
"Arthur is... I think he is still working overtime—"
Mrs. Weasley replied with a smile, a hint of intriguing brightness flashing in her eyes.
"Oh? How come? Mr. Weasley isn't in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office..."
"Honey, who are you chatting with? Come help me see, do you think Miss Weasley will like this pink Pygmy Puff?"
Just then, Mr. Diggory's voice suddenly came from inside the Magical Menagerie.
Huh?
Miss Weasley?! Little Ginny?!
Could it be… if she remembered correctly, the Diggory couple had a son.
Mrs. Weasley suddenly became alert, narrowed her eyes, and looked at Mrs. Diggory like an angry owl.
"Angie, you… um, your Cedric wouldn't be—"
"...This, uh—"
Mrs. Diggory opened her mouth awkwardly.
Molly Weasley took a step forward, staring at the other with a menacing glare, mixed with surprise and anger.
"Ginny is only eleven years old, eleven! What exactly is your son—"
"...Okay, okay. Molly, calm down, my Ced isn't dating your Ginny…"
"It's actually a, um, rather complicated and strange thing... But since you've found out now, I might as well tell you."
Mrs. Diggory looked at Mrs. Weasley, whose eyes were flashing with fire, hesitated for a moment, then shrugged helplessly.
"My child isn't as outgoing as your George, Ced hasn't dated anyone yet—some time ago, when Amos went to school, he heard that a girl was getting close to Ced, a Ravenclaw Chinese girl. You also know that your one at home often used your fourth son to provoke him in front of Amos, wasn't that making Amos a bit anxious? He couldn't help it, everyone is doing it for their children..."
"So—what does this have to do with Ginny?"
Mrs. Weasley was stunned, her anger quickly subsiding, and she frowned in confusion.
"...Uh."
Mrs. Diggory looked at Molly awkwardly and spread her hands with a helpless expression.
"Miss Weasley discovered this secret. She secretly told Amos that she could help us keep an eye on Ced."
"In addition to that, she would also help us get information about that girl named Cho Chang—they are on the same Quidditch team. She could even help Cedric and Cho Chang create opportunities, trying to bring them together, and in exchange for all of this..."
"So, you're saying..."
With Mrs. Diggory's explanation, Mrs. Weasley's face became increasingly gloomy.
"Little Ginny, she secretly threatened Mr. Diggory to trade pets with her, otherwise she would break up Cedric's date?"
"And her brothers Percy and George actually colluded with her, using the fact that their girlfriend is a Ravenclaw prefect and Head Girl to intentionally or unintentionally fuel this girl's arrogance? Even… dared to threaten that if we told her parents, she would make sure Cedric was single until graduation?"
After a long silence, Molly Weasley took a deep breath, and finally a bright, gentle smile appeared on her face.
"Hmm, I understand—I'll pay for that Pygmy Puff."
"We're really sorry about Ginny's matter, we will talk to her about it later—after Arthur gets, home, from, work."
Mrs. Weasley said with a smile, her right hand, carrying the wine gift bag, tightened subconsciously.
First George, then Arthur…
Now Percy, little Ginny…
This family, one by one, is everyone going to rebel?!
