Chapter 933: Chapter 931: The Giant Skull
One week later.
Richard returned to Jialan City.
Outside Jialan City, at the Blue Lake Estate, in Eden.
Richard appeared in the specially set up second research laboratory for nuclear weapon manufacturing, holding a prism ten centimeters long and five or six centimeters thick in his hand, playing with it. The entire prism was a light green color, somewhat resembling an emerald gemstone, but it wasn’t; this was the Tree Heart of the Giant Tree Tin Wood from before.
A week ago, he used the Destructive Gloves in the Silent Forest to destroy the main body of the Giant Tree Tin Wood, and the Tree Heart, exposed by the penetrating golden light, attempted to escape but was forcibly stopped by him.
Afterwards, he placed the Tree Heart into the Space Iron Ring and brought it back.
On one hand, he wanted to study the secrets of the opponent as a Longevity Exotic Species, and on the other hand, he wanted to see if it could function as an “engine” to supply energy for the purification of his Uranium 235.
Whether it’s the opponent’s title of “Forest Source” or the energy storm that erupted during the battle in the Silent Forest, both indicate that the opponent has such potential.
However, as he played with the Tree Heart now, his mind was on another matter—the limitations of the Destructive Gloves.
The Destructive Gloves are the national treasure of the East Coast that defeated the Black Spirit Empire, developed by the collective efforts of the Black Spirit King to counter the Supreme Order Divine Society.
The power of these gloves doesn’t need much explanation; besides their massive consumption, their previous uses have already proven capable of killing any existence below a Level 4 Wizard.
But this doesn’t mean the Destructive Gloves are invincible.
At least, the Destructive Gloves have not yet been proven to cause fatal damage to Level 4 Wizards.
Additionally, the fact that after the destruction of the Giant Tree Tin Wood’s main body, the Tree Heart attempted to escape, and the resurrection of Inspector Chikafu months ago, both suggest that the Destructive Gloves cannot completely kill some special forms of life—at least not in one go.
When the Black Spirit King initially developed the Destructive Gloves, there wasn’t much contact with the Supreme Order Divine Society, and they were targeting the lower-tier members of the society, those who wore Iron Rings. Using the destiny power of the Prediction lineage, these gloves can ensure the complete death of these members, but they are insufficient against other, stronger beings.
This is the limitation of the Destructive Gloves.
To overcome this limitation, one either needs to master more powerful attack skills or try upgrading the Destructive Gloves.
Before achieving this, when using the Destructive Gloves against certain people, one must be vigilant.
The Destructive Gloves are no longer the trump card that can solve all problems; they are now merely a powerful attack means. In other words, the Destructive Gloves’ ability to “flip the table and forcefully change the situation” has diminished.
To sum it up: The sooner the research and manufacturing of nuclear weapons are completed, the better.
To research and manufacture nuclear weapons, the immediate issue of energy insufficiency must be resolved.
Energy, energy, energy… Richard silently recited in his heart a few times, slightly lowered his head, and focused his gaze on the Tree Heart in his hand. He could clearly feel the astonishing energy and life force contained in this inconspicuous Tree Heart, as if it were a super plant bomb ready to explode at any moment.
Richard arched his brow, thought for a moment, stood up, and pushed the door open to walk out.
He was about to try to see if he could resurrect the Giant Tree Tin Wood and then extract some energy from it for use.
…
“Tap, tap, tap…”
Richard walked out of the door of the second research lab and had just stepped onto the open space of the main laboratory when he saw Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu lying on a lounge chair, resting with eyes closed.
Upon hearing Richard’s footsteps, Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu slightly raised his eyelids, glanced over, and asked, “Planting the tree?”
Richard had mentioned the matter of the Tree Heart to Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu before, so he knew about it.
“Yes.” Hearing Witch Demon Elder’s words, Richard didn’t deny it and softly responded.
“If you’re really planting it, you don’t have to waste time digging a hole; I’ve already had someone dig it for you in advance,” Witch Demon Elder said.
That statement seemed to carry some ambiguity… Richard moved the corner of his mouth slightly but didn’t voice his inner thoughts, instead looking at Witch Demon Elder calmly asking, “You’ve dug it in advance? Where?”
“There!” Witch Demon Elder pointed a finger towards a distant place.
Following Witch Demon Elder’s direction, Richard looked over and saw a bloated, two-and-a-half-meter-tall giant skeleton next to a reaction tank, using an iron shovel to dig into the ground with “crack, crack” noises, having already dug a hole over half a meter deep.
Witch Demon Elder slowly sat up from the lounge chair and said to Richard, “Look, this pit is definitely deep enough. Just bury that Tree Heart in it, cover it with soil, and water it a bit. Although I’ve never planted a tree before, there’s something in the Magic Puppet known as Earth Demon, which I’ve planted, and I think the two should be about the same.”
“Maybe…” Richard replied noncommittally, not in a hurry to go over, but instead focused his gaze on the two-and-a-half-meter-tall bloated skeleton, critically examining it from top to bottom.
“I’ve never seen this skeleton before; is it something you made recently?”
“Guess!” Witch Demon Elder said with a smile.
Richard didn’t guess but continued scrutinizing the skeleton, looking at various details and slowly deducing.
“The body structure is primarily bone, with the upper body noticeably larger than the lower body, and not completely symmetrical. However, the skeleton can move unaffected, likely due to some internal modifications that have increased mass in certain areas, readjusting the center of gravity.”
As he spoke, Richard activated the perspective function of the Eye of Gaze and looked again.
After observing for a long time, he said, “As expected, metal structures have been added inside both legs, probably containing some alloyed iron or copper, successfully shifting the center of gravity downward, thus increasing stability. But this correspondingly decreases flexibility, especially making turning difficult.
Thus, an additional mechanical structure was added between the legs and torso, allowing the skeleton to rotate its upper body 180 degrees without moving its lower body. There is a similar structure in the arms, enhancing upper limb flexibility, enabling it to handle more complex tasks.
Also, there are two energy cores, one in the chest cavity and the other in the skull. The chest cavity core is likely the primary one, controlling the entire body’s operations, and is specially protected to prevent damage, with not only a metal layer but also enhanced bone protection outside.
The skull core seems secondary but still has specialized functions. Judging from the energy channel connections, the primary energy core provides the majority of power, while the secondary energy core adjusts details during activities, adding precision…”
After analyzing for a long time, Richard looked towards Witch Demon Elder, raised his eyebrows, and said, “Overall, very impressive. This skeleton is new and has some practical modifications. Compared to the original skeleton, there’s not much fundamental difference, but the significance is considerable. At least it shows that upgrading Magic Puppets in this way is feasible. As long as you invest enough effort and time, the results can be even more astonishing.”
