Chapter 367: Time Goes On
The station was in complete upheaval. They were not the only ones either. With the reveal of the Orius apparently the Princess had gained a large amount of bargaining power because of their actions. Although the government meeting where they established the Victorium was still ongoing. While the military gathering was actually coming to Princess’ Pride. The military gathering happened wherever the High Priestess was and at the moment she was on the Princess’ Pride station.
The people on the station who were reacting the most were the military, criminals, and the businesses. The military was ramping up their search and expanding their control of the base since they were the only ones who knew how to detect them. Jace did help them by selling them his designs for a Orius detector and neutralizer. Apparently the High Priestess was all too willing to buy the designs.
So now Jace was looking at an even heftier amount of money that was burning a hole in his back pocket. So after spending the last week repairing his visor with the new ideas he had. He managed to completely fix up his armor which was at the moment hidden like his other irreplaceable gear was.
Instead he was currently working on a new hover bike design. Not much else for him to do. Because of Mistress White all the criminals knew to steer clear of him, although she was slightly angry about what he did. She was far more fixated on finding her wife who the orius confirmed was alive but sold into the slave market.
His original design was still in the process of being mass produced and sold to the civilian population. But apparently the Victorium Military had bought them in bulk. But now that Jace had made those, he was kind of wanting to make his own personal hover bike that would move faster and had other functions he was playing with.
It basically would not be anything any normal human or civilian should ever have or use. The first design was just for profit. But this one... it would be more for his pleasure. To help him satisfy that thrill he usually gets from torturing or killing someone.
He was adding boosters and some instantaneous gravity brakes. Those were two of the primary components that he was adding. The other stuff he was going to add on later. For now he was just working on the base structure because he needed to make it out of a durable enough material that it could withstand as much damage as Jace was.
As for the material he picked, it is Chemi-metal. Chemi-metal is the official name that the armorer came up with for the metal he used to make the Spectre Armor. It took Jace quite a bit of time to study not just his own armor but his sword as well to figure it out. Eventually he realized the method for materializing the metal was quite easy. The only issue was the composition that took him a bit of time to figure out. But now that he knew it he could make it easy enough.
In fact a few of the less than legal weapons are the reason he could even make the metal. Because they have some not as widely used metals in their creation. It is not that they are expensive. They are just not that useful. But they are rare, so Jace would usually have some trouble finding them. Fortunately he knows both the underworld and weapons. So he could pick out weapons with the materials he needed.
Now he was working on the base structure while burning through the materials he acquired. He could not make all of the smaller bits out of Chemi-metal just yet. He would have to go through and get some more materials to make it completely out of the metal.
Jace was working in the spot in his garage where his truck used to sit. Now it was sitting out across the street parked by the sidewalk. While he was working in this space getting covered in various metal dusts.
While at his actual work desk, Allie was working on the homework she got from Jace this morning. He did not tell her but she absorbed the basic information she might need like a sponge the past week. Now she was onto stuff that she might not need. But Jace figured it would not hurt to help her get ahead of the other students before she heads off to one of the three Academy that is located on this colony station.
Jordan and Cho were becoming more rambunctious and were going around pranking both Allie and Jace. Fortunately Jace had gotten them some game consoles to curb their enthusiasm. Now they were patiently playing the game systems. Which was another thing, Cho had figured out how to partially transform into a humanoid form. She still had furry ears and fluffy tail, not to mention her teeth were definitely those of a tiger. But she somehow still made herself look adorable.
She had unfortunately not mastered speech yet and was not likely to either. She was heavily relying on her telepathy to communicate. Jace had yet to find a way to encourage her to communicate using her voice.
For now he was decompressing following his latest escapade. Despite the trouble he caused he still was not being called back. Because of that Jace realized the High Priestess and the Victorium military must really be serious about the work-life balance. Or maybe it was the Victorium over all who wanted to balance work and life.
He would have to look into the Victorium history to see if there was a historical reason. The only things he knew about the Victorium he knew about were the languages, which he had become fluent in, the cultures and the social structure. He had been a bit busy going between fighting, experimenting, and over all just working to take some time to completely research more about the Victorium.
But for the moment Jace was developing his hover bike. More so he could use it in races than anything else and get that thrill that civilian life lacks for him.
