Chapter 860: Royal Meltdown, Noble Breakdown ( 860 )

She... also loves Javier...

The realization struck like a quiet blade.

His chest tightened.

She hadn’t said it outright. Just by the look on her face, that gentle smile, the way she asked for Javier’s room, the subtle softness in her tone, it reminded him too much of Liana. Of Gloria. Of all the girls who unknowingly gravitated toward Javier.

Just like them... she looks at him with those eyes.

His footsteps felt heavy. Each step echoed faintly against the polished floor, but the hallway ahead seemed to stretch endlessly.

I should’ve known... They’re from the same school. Same age. Same circle.

He forced a breath through his nose, trying to keep his composure. No one else was around. Still, he kept his expression neutral. But deep inside, disappointment bloomed quietly. So even she’s chasing after him.

His hand curled slightly at his side. Not out of anger, but out of the helplessness he couldn’t voice.

He walked on toward his room. But the corridor felt too long, too quiet. And for once, he wished the hallway would just end.

While Kliatana descended the grand staircase, a dreamy smile tugging at her lips, she suddenly realized something and froze mid-step.

Her eyes widened. Her breath caught.

"Wait..."

She blinked rapidly.

"I asked him where Javier’s room was, and I said I need to discuss a small matter..."

A beat passed. Then realization struck her like a cannon to the chest.

"What if... what if he misunderstood?!"

Her voice echoed in her head, panicked and rising.

"What if he thinks I... I like Javier!?"

Her jaw dropped.

"Like the others?! Like Liana?! Gloria?!"

She shook her head violently.

"No..."

"No..."

"NOOOOO!!"

Her frustrated cry was half-whispered, half-screamed into her hands as she gripped her temples and spun around at the bottom of the stairwell.

"This is all his fault! That smug little trickster! That little womanizer!!"

She stomped forward with renewed fury, muttering under her breath.

"Where’s his room? I swear, I’m going to strangle him to death with his own pillow if he doesn’t fix this!"

Kliatana’s dramatic march began, heels clicking against the polished marble, each step powered by a storm of flustered rage, embarrassment, and pure, chaotic royal energy.

Meanwhile, Javier had just arrived at his room.

Still a little dreamy from earlier, specifically from the moment his gaze locked with Liana’s soft smile and Gloria’s serene expression.

he leaned against the door frame with a lazy grin.

What a life.

Before he could settle into one of his signature floor sprawl poses, Liana turned to him.

"Now, young master," she said gently, "if you’ll excuse us, we’re heading to report to Mrs. Erinnette."

Gloria gave a polite nod beside her. "We won’t be long."

Javier waved playfully. "Alright~ But don’t take too long~ Ehehe."

Liana just shook her head with a knowing smile, clearly used to his antics, while Gloria gave a small chuckle as they exited the room together.

The door clicked shut.

Javier stretched, then plopped onto the nearby cushion, arms behind his head.

"Mmm~ My future wives... Liana, Gloria, Felicia, Mimi, Delya, and Ferine..."

His grin widened.

"One elf! One half-human! Two catgirls! One demon girl! And one dwarven girl!" He exhaled deeply, utterly content. "Ah~ My life is bliss. Surrounded by beauty... all drawn to~"

He suddenly sat up, brushing back his hair with one hand in a dramatic, ikemen-worthy pose.

"~my handsome face," he whispered, as if narrating his own movie trailer.

He stood, twirled, and posed with exaggerated flair, shoulders back, chest out, then smoothly turned with a red rose held between his teeth, swiped from thin air by his magic.

"How about you and me, going into the world of Javier... Beautiful~"

But as he opened his eyes and struck the final charming pose.

Kliatana stood a few meters in front of him, arms folded, eyebrows twitching in what could only be described as maximum disgust.

Javier’s smile cracked. The rose slipped from his mouth.

His eye twitched.

"Ugh! Bratty’s ruining the mood! The scenery!" he groaned, pointing at her like a child caught mid-fantasy. "You’re like a stain on a perfect painting!"

Kliatana just gave him a deadpan glare. "And you’re like a delusion given human form."

They stared.

"What do you want?" Javier muttered, turning around dramatically like a soap opera actor offended by low ratings.

She clenched her fists.

"You!!"

She grabbed Javier’s hair from behind, fingers locking in with terrifying precision like an older sister catching her dumb little brother mid-prank, and yanked.

"JAVIER!!! IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!!"

"Wha!? MY HAIR!! My beautiful hair!!!"

Javier shrieked, flailing as his knees gave out from the sudden force, slamming down to the floor like a marionette with cut strings.

"EEEK!! My hair!! MY HAIR!!" he wailed, squirming uselessly as she kept shaking him back and forth, her grip merciless and her expression somewhere between panic and volcanic meltdown.

"This is ALL YOUR FAULT!!!"

"I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT, YOU DAMN BRATTY!!" he screeched, trying to claw her hand away but only managing to slap the air like a desperate fish.

"WHAT!?" she screamed back. "He’s gonna misunderstand!! He’ll think I like you! YOU! Of all people!!"

"WHO’S HE!?!" Javier shouted. "WHO THE HELL THINKS YOU LIKE ME!?! LET GO OF MY HAIR FIRST!!"

But she didn’t. She tightened her grip.

More yanking.

More screaming.

More flailing.

Javier’s pride, posture, and perfectly styled hair were all being thoroughly annihilated on the cold, polished floor.

After a moment.

Javier sat on the floor, shoulders slumped, hands clutching his poor, abused scalp as quiet sobs leaked from his trembling lips.

"Ugh... you damn bratty... you’re gonna ruin my perfectly shining hair..." he sniffled.

"Who in the world is gonna think you like me?! Puh-lease! Even if you beg, I won’t! You monster! A rowdy little gremlin girl covered in princess skin!"

Kliatana’s cheeks puffed with fury. "Gremlin?!"

She twitched like she was about to grab his hair again.

Javier flinched. "D-Don’t! Hands off the masterpiece!"

He hissed, gently patting his scalp like it was sacred ground.

"Ugh! My hair... you violent beast. You damn rough girl... now tell me what the hell actually happened?! Damn!"

Kliatana fidgeted, clearly still flustered. "H... he..."

"He?" Javier narrowed his eyes.
