Chapter 737: Chapter 376: Now, Do You See? The Wheels of Fate Turn Quietly
Ronan maintained his grip with Heather, squinting his eyes and staring in the direction where the sound of breaking air came.
He saw a trace of black light.
It was the glow of the Magic Arrow.
At first, it was ordinary, but it grew brighter and brighter, just like a snowball, with its power fluctuations rapidly increasing in the air.
In a short time, it broke through the Level 5 Category.
Ronan frowned, stopped the action he was halfway through, released Heather’s hand, and his whole body swiftly rose into the air.
The [Star Force Field] burst out, and Ronan drew his fingers before him, tracing a beautiful deep silver track in the air.
The track quickly opened up like a silver pouch unzipping, swallowing that black arrow whole.
But in the next instant, the black light exploded from another part of the Void, penetrating Ronan’s body in a flash.
"Boom!"
Dozens of silver-glowing "Ronans" burst from the epicenter of the explosion, scattering in all directions as the black light penetrated.
Yet, that terrifying Magic Arrow seemed to know which one was the real Ronan, relentlessly following one silhouette, closing the distance between them relentlessly.
Ronan’s brow furrowed.
The [Mirror Flower Water Moon] Secret Technique he had formed by combining the [Space Mirror Skill] and [Mirror Soul] Spells had once temporarily confounded even the Level 5 Late Stage Thomas, yet this Magic Arrow that came from nowhere was completely unaffected.
He had reason to believe this was the mischief of that so-called "New Prophet."
"Furious and ashamed..."
Ronan recalled how the ground’s stones jumped like a boiling pot when he transferred the Circular Ring Energy to Heather, suddenly unable to hold back a laugh, "Can’t I play without participation?"
He shook his head, resolutely not looking back at the arrow light chasing him, and swiftly flew towards the direction from which the Magic Arrow light originated.
A brilliant gleam flashed in Ronan’s eyes.
He wanted to see who on earth shot that arrow.
Under the mottled sky, one person and one arrow cut through the sky one after another like light and shadow.
In just a few breaths, he could see a silhouette facing his direction from afar.
Holding a Magic Bow wrapped in countless vines, it was evident this individual had shot the Magic Arrow that attacked Ronan.
When Ronan got a clear look at the person’s appearance, he was taken aback.
The person holding the Longbow was a woman with a head full of green hair braided into numerous little braids, wearing the signature Black Moon Robe of the Spirit Lake sect.
Ronan knew this woman.
They had participated in the selection for Spirit Lake together; her soul quality reached Eight Stars, and they had met twice later in the Silent Corridor when she was advancing to become a Level 4 Wizard.
Was it really her?!
Ronan blinked, noticing the spiritual power fluctuations emanating from the green-braided woman had reached Level 4 Middle Stage.
He sighed to himself; Eight Stars soul quality was indeed remarkable, crossing yet another threshold in such a short time.
The green-braided woman seemed also bewildered that her casual shot had "exploded" into a Ronan.
Stunned, standing still, she watched Ronan charging straight toward her.
Surrounded by the Star Force Field, Ronan was like a blazing Meteor, rudely breaking through the woman’s Spiritual Field, almost colliding directly with her.
Ronan’s figure twisted bizarrely.
With the Spell traction capability of the Star Force Field, the Magic Arrow, which followed him almost to his back, unexpectedly passed straight through his "body," shooting straight at the green-braided woman.
Under the frightening Magic Arrow that escalated to a Level 5 Category, the green-braided woman’s eyes widened, seemingly unable to believe the arrow she fired would boomerang back at her.
Moreover, its power had expanded to such absurd proportions.
Ronan watched this scene coldly.
He wanted to see how the "New Prophet," hiding in the shadows and shooting this disruptive arrow through others, would deal with this.
Under the intimidating might of the Magic Arrow, the green-braided woman kept retreating, about to be pierced by it when suddenly....
A pale, slender hand abruptly extended from the Void behind the woman, slipping through the gap between her shoulder and neck, its fingers flexing lightly to hold the Magic Arrow light still.
Under that suddenly appearing hand, the terrifying arrow light became as docile as a sheep, then shattered like a crystal utensil.
Ronan squinted slightly, seeing ripples spreading out behind the green-braided woman, accompanied by a raspy, slightly magnetic young man’s voice, as a figure slowly emerged from them.
"Don’t mind..."
The figure appeared tall and thin, seemingly with a slight hunchback, wearing a luxurious Black Moon Robe, with strands of white hair hanging down from both temples amidst his black hair. He wore an ordinary Purple Crystal Mask, with its edges showing signs of having been scorched by flames.
"On one hand, it was under the Prophet’s guidance that she shot that arrow at you..."
The man in the Purple Crystal Mask stood behind the green-braided woman. Despite his slightly hunched back, he was nearly a head taller than her.
His hand still maintained the posture of threading through the gap of her shoulder and neck, which looked like an affectionate neck embrace between lovers; however, the green-braided woman "clasped" in his arm looked pale, with an expression of tension mixed with a slight trace of concealed fear on her face.
"Oh, by the way."
