Chapter 924: Voidclaw Set

Chapter 924: Voidclaw Set

Alec jolted upright from his bed, his body drenched in sweat and his chest weighed down by the lingering ache of how he had died. Exhaustion washed over him, and he slumped back against the sheets, too drained to even move at the moment.

The backlash from using his Energy Eyes for such a prolonged time during battle was still gnawing at him even after his consciousness returned back to his body.

After briefly reflecting on what he could do differently in the future against the Caterpillar-like beast, Alec turned his gaze toward Knight’s ongoing Spirit equipment refinement.

What he saw startled him, the astral image of the human elder was no longer alone, by his side were two additional human figures of the same Astral form now hovered beside it, working as though they were assistants aiding the elder in the forging process with things like rune engravings and some other enchantments.

For the first time, Alec realized the system was capable of manifesting more than one astral helper during a forging refinement of a spirit equipment set, and his best guess was the only reason this was the first time he was seeing it was because he hadn’t created a spirit equipment set that required one before.

Even so, the process seemed to be dragging on, though parts of Knight’s Spirit equipment had already taken shape, Alec could tell from experience that the crafting was far from complete.

Bored, Alec decided to attempt something he had never tried before, forging two Spirit equipment sets simultaneously.

Though his room wasn’t that large, however he felt there was still enough space to work with.

He placed Agnes’ Wolven Tide Spirit equipment set onto a clear ground and began channelling his mana into it.

Instantly, a notification popped up, prompting him to select the upgrade rank and without hesitation, Alec chose the Tier 6 option.

Five million system points vanished from his balance again, and soon the same process that Knight’s spirit equipment set went through at the beginning was undergoing for Agnes’ as well.

Exactly 48 hours later from when Alec accepted to pay for Knight’s spirit equipment to be forged, he finally stood, staring dazed at the first finished product , Knight’s Spirit equipment set.

Just looking at it sent a chill crawling down his spine. It was an undeniable improvement from what it had once been, radiating power and menace in equal measure.

Out of curiosity, he quickly activated his Inspect skill on the armour.

Alec took a deep breath after seeing the sheer power Knight’s new equipment set offered.

At that moment, he truly wished he could also elevate his own gear to Tier 6, because the bonuses from Knight’s Voidclaw Spirit Equipment Set made him nearly untouchable against anyone at the peak of Tier 5 and below.

He couldn’t help but anticipate just how much Knight’s battle prowess would grow once he equipped the set on.

The Voidclaw ensemble was sleek and deadly with the armour forged from shadow-infused bone of shadow wolves and void-woven material.

The chest plate curved with fang-like ribs, supported by claw-marked greaves and sinew-wrapped gauntlets.

At his sides rested a jagged, curved short sword and twin daggers that pulsed faintly with dark energy.

Draped across his back was a torn, rune-etched cloak trailing with grey mist, crowned by the Mask of the Silent Fang: a black, ninja-style faceguard that muffled presence and concealed identity.

Altogether, the set radiated silent menace, like a wolf-shaped shadow ready to strike unseen, an upgrade that suited Knight perfectly.

After carefully securing the Voidclaw Spirit Equipment Set in a protected corner, Alec ventured into the amulet world again as it was time.

This time, he stumbled into a region unlike any he had seen before, a special region where the mana particles in the air were completely pure, without any elemental affinity superiority.

This meant he could absorb the raw energy and freely convert it into whichever elemental affinity he desired.

For a brief moment, Alec was ecstatic, he finally thought he had found a special zone where both he and his golems could hunt Tier 7 demonic beasts without a disadvantage.

But his excitement was short-lived.

Barely a minute into exploring the breath-taking natures cape, he and his golems were ambushed by several Tier 7 demonic beasts in humanoid form.

What unsettled Alec most wasn’t the ambush itself , it was that none of their abilities resembled the basic elemental affinities he was used to countering.

Instead, they wielded strange powers that looked more like unique bloodlines or special abilities, making them even more dangerous than he expected.

Normally, this would have left him in deep thought, but his focus was already fixed on a particular humanoid demonic beast he had encountered in that strange region where no element dominated.

This one had caught his attention because it specialized in controlling blood, Alec had been searching for the third beast soul that would finally complete the requirements for pushing his Devourer Bloodline to the Low Rank properly, and he was convinced this creature was the perfect fit.

Even now, he could already manipulate blood in limited ways thanks to the Bloody Changdao.

Through it, he had learned to drain blood from defeated enemies to empower the blade and even rupture their hearts to forge blood weapons when his Changdao second seal was activated.

While those abilities were undeniably powerful, Alec had always felt restricted, as if he were only a contractor channelling the weapon’s will, rather than a true manipulator of blood.

His hunger for more only grew because he had watched how Damien Sorin wielded blood with absolute mastery, bending it directly to his will; compared to that, Alec’s control felt incomplete.

The Changdao remained a mystery, granting him abilities beyond his affinities, because he has never heard of any mage who possessed a weapon that could bestow its owner elemental or special abilities outside their natural affinity.

Only the Changdao did this, and Alec could only conclude it was because of its divine nature, and he believed his limited control was because the weapon was still undergoing restoration.

He had countless questions about the blade’s origins and true powers, but those would have to wait until he could ask his grandfather, who he believed was still back at the Gordons clan.

For now, his mind was set, the blood-controlling Tier 7 demonic beast would be his next target, and its soul would be the third pillar to push his Devourer Bloodline into a new stage.

First of all, Alec felt it had the potential to become his strongest soul beast very fast and that was because if he managed to slay one successfully,

It meant he would be consuming the soul of a high-rank beast and that would provide unmatched power.

At the very least, Alec felt at the forming stage the beast’s soul could stabilize at either the mid or high Tier 6 realm upon absorption, which was already a massive leap in quality.

From there, raising its level further would be much easier, granting him a powerful

ally that could help him take down a Tier 7 beast without forcing him to suffer excessive losses or endure crippling strain like he always does.
