Chapter 1596: 1596. There are only 2 possibilities
“I’ll run you a bath, you can soak for a bit and relax.”
“Alright.”
After two tense days, Elly Campbell finally received the check-up results.
To avoid any possibility of misdiagnosis by the hospital, she went to several hospitals, just like last time, to undergo the same examinations.
Now, there were five reports laid out before her, each from five top-equipped public and private hospitals in Boston.
The results showed there were no abnormalities in her body.
It’s possible for one hospital to make a mistake, but for five top-notch hospitals in both equipment and staff to simultaneously err, that is absolutely impossible.
In other words, her body was indeed fine — at least, according to the detection capabilities of current medical technology, she was perfectly healthy.
So, there were only two possibilities.
First, the fall that day was purely coincidental, and things like her legs stiffening and being immovable were just her misconception.
The second possibility was that the current medical equipment still couldn’t detect the hidden illness in her body.
If it was the second case, then things were really not looking good.
She didn’t even know what was truly happening to her.

The white metal door with an arched design opened to the sides with a “ding” sound.
A slender girl with exquisite and outstanding features walked in from outside, her gaze landing on the tall figure of a young man in a lab coat standing in front of the microscope in the sterile laboratory.
This was a high-tech laboratory located underground, initially built as an air-raid shelter during World War II and later abandoned.
Through a series of cover-ups, it ended up in the hands of the owner of this laboratory, and has remained undiscovered to this day.
Watching the diligently working young man, the girl’s lips curled into a faint smile as she approached him.
Her fingers pressed her fingerprint on the glass door beside it, and the glass security door opened in response.
The person inside, seemingly unaware, continued observing the situation under the microscope, his pale and slender fingers occasionally adjusting the petri dish beneath it.
“Boss.”
The girl called gently from beside him, then stood silently without further interruption.
Ten minutes later, the young man’s face lifted from the microscope, removing the transparent face shield to reveal an incredibly handsome face.
Due to his age, the face still had a hint of youthful innocence, but no one knew that beneath that innocent appearance lay the soul of a demon capable of destroying the world.
No one knew the achievements this young man, who appeared to be just a student, had accomplished so far.
“Boss, the item you requested, I’ve delivered it to you.”
The girl handed over a seemingly ordinary glass bottle to the young man.
The young man’s lips curved, a satisfied smile spreading across his beautiful eyes.
“Very good.”
The young man’s voice, unlike his youthful appearance, carried a magnetic allure, somewhat captivating but devoid of warmth, as if he was naturally emotionless.
As he praised her, the girl couldn’t hide the hint of joy on her face.
“Were there any signs of detection?”
The young man’s steady voice sounded again.
“No, I was very quick, and your equipment worked perfectly.”
“Hmm.”
After emitting a low hum, the young man said nothing more.
He turned around and placed the transparent glass bottle into a special freezer in the laboratory.
