Chapter 1595: The Bride Kicked Out

Chapter 1595: The Bride Kicked Out

Back in Bleulle City, even a week after the incident, it was still the talk of the town.

Both the Vesto and Sephon families were at the brunt of it, causing many of them to refuse to go out because they didn’t have the face to look at other people’s faces at this time.

As the families were comprised of snobs, everyone was affected—some more than others.

For example, a certain newlywed lady had just settled into her new family home.

SLAP!

A poor maid once again found herself on the ground, face red from a slap courtesy of her master.

Liaroa’s eyes were crimson as a Khola beast butt as she glared at the maid, and then at the world in general.

She planned her wedding for so long! It was supposed to be perfect!

She had spent months of thought and hundreds of gold on it. Worse, she was tied to both families involved and this meant that people who disliked either family used her as a butt of jokes, too!

How could it be ruined like that!? And she was so embarrassed! She could feel the stares and the laughter hidden behind those ’concerned’ smiles!

They would ask how she was, how she felt, and surely the evil perpetrators would be caught soon?!

She was also isolated from this household, with them believing she was a bringer of bad luck! How could they do this to her!?

Bastards! Bitches! If she got hold of those responsible—

Before she could beat up the poor maid to vent her anger, a hurried knock resounded on the door.

"Milady! Milady!"

Some of her maids assigned to the kitchen yelled out, looking pale.

Her eyes were red and she felt irritable. She wondered if they would let themselves offer their faces so she could slap them?

However, what they said next caused her to lose blood on her face.

"The Master has returned! He’s gravely injured!"

"What?!" she screamed, immediately heading out and didn’t bother ask for details.

Nononono—because of all the chaos and the investigating everyone had to do, they hadn’t even had their first night as a married couple yet! She was not pregnant yet! He could not die!

She ran to the living area where the members of the family were being treated. Some were healthy enough to be taken to their rooms, with the rest using the living room as a waiting room of sorts.

"We had already sent them to the Healing Sanctuary, which is why most still survived, but there’s still a bit to recover from," the healer said as he watched the patients—including Eveco and Ewan—taken to their rooms for monitored care.

Her husband, Eveco, had a lot of injuries and seemed to have a lot of scars on his face, which made Lia’s stomach tumble in disgust, but then she saw Ewan—the heir—had actually lost a leg!

This... was not too bad??

If Ewan were disabled, then her husband—

Seeing this, she had to stop herself from smirking. She physically had to cover her mouth with her hand and just pretended to sob when she was actually smiling.

The sound she made made her mother-in-law and the other women—including Ewan’s mother—turn to her. For a moment, she thought she had revealed herself, only to realize they were just irksome in general.

Unexpectedly, her mother-in-law, Setia, walked in her direction. Her arms raised, her palm smacking onto Lia’s face.

SLAP!

"Bad luck! It’s so annoying to see her face!"

This time, like her maids, not even ten minutes prior, it was Liaroa on the floor, holding her face. Her eyes were wide in disbelief. "M-Mother..."

"Nothing good has happened to our family since my Eveco got engaged to you!" She yelled, sobbing, very worried for her son. "I don’t want to see you right now! GO!"

"What?"

No, right? She couldn’t be kicking her out, right?! NO!

Her eyes were red and if she wasn’t trained to maintain a strict public facade, she’d have screamed, asking if that was what she meant, asking how they could do this to her.

Setia sneered and looked away. Liaroa was about to grab her skirt when one of the guards blocked her.

Seeing this, many of the other women shook their heads in disgust, while one of the calmer ones sighed.

"Wait until things cool down," she said. "Go back to your family first."

"But—"

What... how could this be?

It was the ultimate humiliation for a woman to be kicked out of her husband’s house! Especially so closely after the wedding!

People would think that something was wrong with her!

Seeing her unmoving, the other women looked at her oddly. "Would you prefer it if we use the guards?"

At this, Liaroa had no choice but to shakily stand up and head to her room to get her items and her maids. Getting dragged out by guards would’ve been a worse humiliation.

She took a few things from her space while her maids took a few dresses. If they took too much, however—

Slap!

"Why are you taking so much? Do you think I won’t come back!?"

"W-We apologize, milady!!"

Lia sneered. As much as she wanted to pull the maids’ hair, she was afraid that taking too long would attract the guards instead.

So, after gathering her items, she headed to the gates...to find out they weren’t even lending her beast carts!

Her maternal family, the Roach family, was not in the inner circle! Did they want her to walk through the entire inner circle and announce to everyone that she didn’t even have a ride? Soon, people would find out she got thrown out!

People can’t know she was kicked out!

"Still here?" One of the women who was assigned to watch her departure, sneered at her. Right next to her were Level 30 guards.

Lia had no choice but to run out of the house like a pitiful gugubird chick as she wiped her eyes. More than sadness, though, she felt vindictive.

Somewhere on the streets, she glared at the house. "Damned old women, wait til I take power away from you someday!"
