Capítulo 1885: Chapter 1274: Wei Lun’s Mission
It’s easy to deal with Yogg-Saron, this unlucky child is sealed in Northrend in the extreme north. There are hardly any humans there except for the undead or aliens. So, without hesitation, Duanmu Huai directly ordered a bombardment until the entire Northrend was blown to smithereens. Then, Duanmu Huai went to the ruins of Ulduar to dig out Yogg-Saron and absorb it.
Only the last one, N’Zoth, is quite troublesome. According to the scan results, this thing is currently located at the bottom of the ocean……it’s hard to get it out…
I must say, it’s quite troublesome.
While Duanmu Huai was scratching his head over N’Zoth under the sea, in Outland, the evacuation of the Expeditionary Force was proceeding orderly.
The death of Sargeras dealt a huge blow to the Burning Legion, and now the entire Burning Legion in Outland was left leaderless. There’s even internal division within the Burning Legion as everyone hoped to become the next Sargeras, leading to constant infighting, which provided the Expeditionary Force with an opportunity to exploit.
The soldiers of the Azeroth Expeditionary Force are extremely eager and enthusiastic about returning home, but the Draenei are not as urgent. Unlike the Azeroth Expeditionary Force, who are longing for homecoming, Azeroth is also an unfamiliar world and a foreign land to the Draenei.
Plus, they’ve been cultivating Outland for hundreds of years and have grown emotionally attached to this land, making them reluctant to leave.
However, Prophet Velen was very firm, as he had personally witnessed how Duanmu Huai “cleansed” the demons on Argus. Although it’s unknown whether he plans to replicate what he did in Outland, Velen is certain that Duanmu Huai is not someone who just talks nonsense. He keeps his promises: if he says he’ll kill your entire family, he will.
Similarly, if he says he’ll destroy this world, Duanmu Huai will certainly do it.
If you don’t leave, you’ll be left behind to be buried here!
Eventually, Velen persuaded these Draenei, offering them a tempting condition—their future homeland is not Azeroth. In fact, under the Tribunal’s attack, the Demon Army on Argus has been completely wiped out. Once the spaceship is repaired, they could return to Argus!
It was this promise that convinced the Draenei, and, leaving behind their second home, they headed towards Azuremyst Isle.
“I never thought we’d leave our homeland.”
Among the refugee procession, a Draenei girl looked complexly at the long line ahead and the distant Dark Portal.
“It’s returning to our homeland, Yrel.”
Hearing the Draenei girl’s sentiment, Prophet Velen chuckled bitterly.
“The rest in Azeroth is only temporary. Once we fully repair the Fortress Warship, we will leave Azeroth and head to our original homeland.”
Saying that, the two arrived before the Dark Portal, where several Night Guards holding Chainsaw Guns stood coldly observing those passing by.
“Prophet, who are these people…?”
“Oh, they’re conducting checks.”
“Checks?”
Before Yrel could understand what Velen was saying, suddenly, an incident occurred.
One of the Night Guards suddenly stepped out, raised his Chainsaw Gun without a word, and pulled the trigger on a refugee.
“Bang!!”
The next moment, the refugee was directly shot, sent flying back under the immense impact. Yrel was shocked to see the Draenei refugee transform into a large demon with bat wings upon falling.
“This, what is this??”
“That’s a Dreadlord, my child.”
Velen explained quietly to Yrel.
“They can take on various forms, disguised among us, but the Tribunal can identify these Dreadlords.”
“I, I knew that person……”
But at this moment, Yrel’s face turned pale, unable to hear Velen’s explanation.
“I once healed him with Holy Light……but back then he showed no signs of being abnormal. Why? If he was a demon in disguise, why didn’t the Holy Light reveal his true nature?”
“Uh……”
Upon hearing Yrel’s muttering, Velen’s expression slightly changed.
These Draenei don’t know the true nature of the Holy Light, not even Velen could tell them certain things directly.
That’s because Mother of the Light, Xe’ra—is already dead.
As for how she died……it’s simple. After eliminating Sargeras, Duanmu Huai took a turn at the Holy Light Legion’s Warship and met with Mother of the Light. Upon their encounter, Mother of the Light Xe’ra emitted dazzling and warm Holy Light, and at that moment, everyone, including Velen, saw beautiful visions. Velen saw the Draenei returning to Argus, starting anew under the guidance of the Holy Light.
Everyone else’s visions were similar.
But while everyone was enjoying the warmth of the Holy Light, Duanmu Huai suddenly erupted in rage.
“How dare you initiate a mental attack against me? Despicable low-life, you seek death!”
Then Duanmu Huai threw a punch—and shattered Xe’ra.
When Duanmu Huai suddenly went berserk, it startled everyone, almost causing a fight between the Holy Light Legion and the Tribunal.
Ultimately, a fight didn’t ensue for one simple reason.
Couldn’t win.
Afterward, Velen did ask Duanmu Huai why he did it, and Duanmu Huai gave this answer.
“Using whimsical fantasies to entice mortals is a tactic demons always use, so what, just because it looks pretty you think it’s not a demon?”
It’s hard to say, but this was a paradigm-shifting blow to a Prophet who has believed in the Holy Light for countless years, nearly shattering his worldview.
As for Duanmu Huai’s muttering, “Damn it, saying I attract so many beauties because I look handsome, I attract beauties with my handsome face? What bullshit……”
Hmm, probably Velen heard wrong.
But regardless, Velen has decided to abandon the Holy Light and follow the Tribunal. Although it sounds a bit bad to say this, Velen also clearly realizes that the Holy Light has its limits. At least, even Mother of the Light was powerless against Sargeras—so for the future of the Draenei, Velen can’t seek refuge with a dead-end.
However, the Draenei have worshiped the Holy Light for so many years; it has become intertwined into every aspect of their society. As a Prophet, Velen knows that it’s impossible to make them completely forsake their Holy Light faith.
But…… it can be done gradually.
Thinking of this, Velen looked at Yrel beside him.
“Yrel, I have a task for you.”
