Chapter 252: Chapter 250: An Uproar, Seven: Stop Clinging to Big Shots

John Sinclair and the others exchanged smiles; they now understood that when Claire Green said "it’s okay," it meant there were no problems.

It seems that once the college entrance exam results are out, there will be another storm.

However, this time, what enticing offers will those prestigious schools present to win over Claire? They couldn’t wait to see.

"What about you guys?" Claire Green’s voice was low and calm.

Isabella Xyler’s eyes sparkled with a smile, "With the big boss personally teaching us, there’s definitely no problem."

"Bella’s right, I never thought I’d ever finish such a hellish test paper."

"Claire, we were taught by you; we have that much confidence," John said lazily, his tone bold.

Suddenly.

A few discussion voices caught their attention.

"Really? Finished every exam in under an hour? You’re not kidding me, right?"

"Yeah, the test was so hard this time. Even Daisy Cooper and William Dunn, who are top students at Trinity High, found it challenging."

"I think he’s just messing with us. If it were true, it would have spread long ago."

The doubted boy wasn’t angry and instead laughed mysteriously, "That’s because the news could affect everyone. Once you know her name, you won’t think that way."

Upon hearing this, everyone’s curiosity was piqued.

The students who hadn’t left yet gathered around, eager to join the crowd.

"Come on, just say it, who is it?"

"Stop teasing us, or you won’t get away today."

John raised an eyebrow; he felt this sounded familiar and the whole scenario felt quite known.

He sneaked a glance at the girl and nudged Sebastian Winn, speaking very softly, "Hey, fatso, want to bet?"

A bet?

Hearing these words, Sebastian Winn instantly perked up, a bit of excitement in his eyes.

However.

When he saw the smile on John’s face, his enthusiasm dampened a bit. Who knows what mischief John had in mind?

"Tell me first what the bet is about and how to bet."

Hearing this.

John looked at Sebastian in surprise; since when did this guy get so smart?

In the past, if John mentioned a bet, this guy would agree without a second thought, and now he was being cautious.

Thinking this, John felt a little disappointed; it seemed this bet wasn’t going to happen.

"Bet on who they’re talking about. I bet it’s Claire, but we’ll set the stakes later."

Sure enough.

As soon as he spoke, Sebastian wore a ’I knew it’ expression and cheerfully declined.

"No bet."

He’s not dumb; nine times out of ten, the person they’re talking about is Claire.

Just as he finished speaking.

The boy finally revealed the answer.

"Claire Green."

With those three words, everyone was in an uproar.

These three words were not unfamiliar; she’s the study model the teachers mention almost daily.

Not only did she lead Brightsong’s class six, but she also took first place in the joint exams and won a math Olympiad gold medal.

No one expected to be at the same exam venue with her.

After a while.

Someone slowly came back to their senses.

"Whoa, that’s amazing. How was it to be in the same exam room with her?"

"Yes, tell us, is she really that beautiful in person?"

How did it feel?

The boy recalled the three days of exams, and couldn’t help but smile wryly, "I can only say it made me existentially confused."

John and Sebastian exchanged a knowing smile, as they too had similar feelings in the past.

"Let’s go," Claire Green glanced over expressionlessly and slowly headed towards the school gate.

Behind her was the continuous buzz of the excited crowd.

Seeing the two still standing there, Isabella Xyler grabbed each by the arm and chided, "Stop staring, let’s go."

...

As soon as Claire Green left the school gate, a little kid ran up to her.

"Sis, you must be tired from the exams." An excited, childish voice exclaimed.

Claire looked down at Benjamin Green hanging onto her leg, amusement flashing in her eyes. Did this kid forget his identity with all this leg-clinging?

She picked him up and slung him onto her hip, speaking lazily, "Cut down on the leg-hugging next time."

Benjamin Green was so thrilled with the surprise that he couldn’t process it for a moment, staring wide-eyed in disbelief.

His sister was actually holding him.

The joy filled his heart, and Benjamin adorably nuzzled against her shoulder, "Okay, I’ll listen to sis."

Going from hugging a leg to being held, even a fool knows which to choose.

Holding him, Claire glanced upwards to see not far away a man watching her with eyes full of gentle amusement.

Then.

A deep, magnetic voice drifted over, "Hey, Claire."

Hearing it.

Claire curved her lips, approaching him leisurely.

"When did brother get here?"

"Not long ago."

Before he could finish.

Unnoticed, Mason Quinn burst out laughing. If they hadn’t been there the whole time, they might have believed it.

He smiled and directly exposed the truth, "Not long, huh? Clearly, you’ve been here since the morning after sending her over."

Claire’s lip twitched up, raising an eyebrow at the man, and said with layered meaning, "Not long, hmm?"

The man’s eyes flickered with an unnatural light, he cleared his throat and shot a glance at the overly talkative person.

Just one look, and Mason felt a chill all over.

He immediately backtracked with a sheepish grin, "Uh, I was just joking; of course, it’s not been long."

He then darted back to his car, feigning nonexistence.

George Xyler and Caleb Green exchanged helpless looks.

This guy is great in every way except for his knack for causing trouble.

Not far away.

Sebastian Winn appeared slightly envious, "Should we go over?"

"Go over and be a third wheel? No thanks," John frowned, "Let’s go play some games."

At last.

He quickly pulled away Isabella Xyler, who was about to run toward the girl, and headed off in another direction.

"John, what are you doing?"

"Bella, interrupting someone’s bonding time isn’t good. Besides, don’t you want your ship to sail even sweeter?"

It had to be said, John’s words hit the mark with Isabella. She gave one last look back, then followed, lips curling up.

No traces of her earlier reluctance remained.

"Wait up for me," Sebastian called as he chased after them.

...

Back at the elegant residence, Claire Green set down Benjamin Green, who had clung to her all the way, and lazily sank into a seat.

"Sis, when will you come back to Capital City with us?"

Benjamin propped his little face on his hands, looking at her with a beaming smile.

Once his sister returned to Capital City, he could stick to her every day.

"In a while," Claire replied succinctly.

The Nether Lord had sent a message a couple of days ago; something seemed strange in R Nation, and she needed to check it out.

Her cool eyes swept over the room’s occupants, seemingly casually, deep in thought.

"No way, right? A whole group of people in Capital City are waiting to see you, and you’re not planning to go yet?" Mason was shocked.

He had told those guys they would return after Claire’s college entrance exams and give Mr. King a hard time.

"Seems like you’re more anxious than me, Mason," Claire chuckled playfully, her eyes lazily resting on him.

Mason laughed awkwardly, "I’m just anxious for Mr. King’s sake."

Claire clicked her tongue, lowering her gaze and typing on the screen.

[J, when are you coming over?]

[Tomorrow.]

Putting away her phone, Claire glanced at the man beside her, speaking slowly, "I have to handle some matters; it will take about three days."
