It was not pure.
Purity implies the concept of impurity. Impurity implies intrusion. Intrusion implies boundary. Boundary implies a separation of what is permitted and what is not. Permission had never been considered.
It was not corrupted.
Corruption implies a shift from an original state. Original implies first. First implies count. Count implies measure. Measure was still unborn.
It was not still.
Stillness implies motion stilled. Motion implies a point moving through space. Space implies distinction between here and elsewhere. Elsewhere had nowhere to differ.
It was not eternal.
Eternity implies the shadow of time stretching unbroken. To stretch, something must occupy. To occupy, something must exist within. Within had not yet been conceived.
It held no silence.
Silence implies the suppression of sound. Sound implies vibration. Vibration implies matter to move and space to receive. Neither had taken root.
It held no fullness.
Fullness implies emptiness was an alternative. Alternatives imply divergence. Divergence implies potential. Potential implies unfinished. Nothing was left undone, because nothing was marked to begin.
It was not zero.
Zero implies the promise of number. Number implies difference accounted for. Difference implies form to compare. Form had not been introduced.
It was not infinite.
Infinity implies extension. Extension implies direction. Direction implies a reference. Reference implies a thought to anchor. Thought had not drawn breath.
It was untouched not because nothing reached it—
—but because "reach" had not yet meant anything.
So it remained—
—not in defiance of definition,
—not in absence of experience,
—but in a plane where definition itself had never gathered the courage to dream.
It did not wait to be understood.
Understanding implies interpretation. Interpretation implies symbols. Symbols imply meaning assigned. Meaning requires a mind to assign. Mind had not taken form.
It did not linger for acknowledgment.
Acknowledgment implies recognition. Recognition implies familiarity. Familiarity implies memory of prior encounter. Prior implies sequence. Sequence had never begun.
It did not call.
Calling implies distance bridged by will. Will implies desire. Desire implies lack. Lack implies expectation. Expectation needs a future to lean toward. Future had no shape to lean into.
It did not answer.
Answer implies question. Question implies uncertainty. Uncertainty implies the presence of possible outcomes. Outcomes imply paths. Paths imply division. Division had no surface to draw upon.
It was not alone.
Aloneness implies the potential for company. Company implies plurality. Plurality implies count. Count implies separation. Separation had yet to be given language.
It was not surrounded.
Surrounding implies an inside and an outside. Inside implies containment. Containment implies structure. Structure needs parts. Parts had not introduced themselves.
It claimed nothing.
Claim implies possession. Possession implies ownership. Ownership implies distinction between self and other. Self and other had not divided.
It yielded nothing.
Yielding implies resistance first offered. Resistance implies force. Force implies direction. Direction implies orientation. Orientation implies space. Space was not present to orient within.
It was not quiet because quiet did not yet stand opposite to noise.
It was not vast because vast held no contrast to small.
It was not alone, not accompanied, not singular, not many.
It was not.
And yet—without need, without concept, without word—
—it was.
Not as essence. Not as void. Not as presence or absence.
But as that which required no recognition to continue exactly as it did—not continuing, not halting, not being—
—simply unasked, unformed, unopposed.
A presence without presence.
A state without state.
The unsought condition where even the idea of naming was too much motion to exist.
It did not remain.
To remain implies a former moment to stay from. A former implies a past. Past implies time layered behind. Layering had never found footing.
It did not fade.
Fading implies a reduction. Reduction implies quantity. Quantity implies measure. Measure implies value. Value implies comparison. Comparison had never arisen.
It did not await definition.
Awaiting implies potential fulfillment. Fulfillment implies purpose. Purpose implies direction. Direction implies a line to follow. No line had been drawn.
It did not impose.
Imposition implies an act upon something else. Something else implies duality. Duality implies division. Division implies edges. Edges imply boundaries. Boundaries had not appeared.
It did not surrender.
Surrender implies condition, conflict, or demand. None had surfaced to shape such an exchange.
It did not remain free.
Freedom implies the possibility of restraint. Restraint implies force applied. Force implies opposition. Opposition implies two. Two had never been spoken into being.
There was no neutrality.
Neutrality implies sides. Sides imply division. Division implies that which separates. Separation had not found relevance.
It held no peace.
Peace implies a silence after disturbance. Disturbance implies change. Change implies time. Time was still an unawakened thought.
It held no conflict.
Conflict implies interaction. Interaction implies relation. Relation implies distinction. Distinction had not been introduced.
It did not express. It did not conceal. It did not affirm. It did not deny.
Expression implies outward. Outward implies inward. Inward implies containment. Containment implies boundaries. Boundaries had never taken form.
Concealment implies choice to hide. Choice implies awareness. Awareness implies reflection. Reflection implies surface. No surface had risen.
Affirmation implies decision. Decision implies priority. Priority implies preference. Preference implies variance. Variance had no canvas to write upon.
Denial implies form rejected. Rejection implies offer. Offer implies giver and receiver. Receiver implies identity. Identity implies self. Self had not arrived.
It simply persisted where persistence did not apply.
Not in motion. Not in halt.
Not as root. Not as branch.
Not as center. Not as edge.
Not as all. Not as none.
Without frame. Without echo. Without witness. Without consequence.
The unheld state that neither invited being nor resisted it—remaining in perfect absence of need, where even the idea of existing would have been too defined to take shape.
It did not drift toward meaning.
Drift implies current. Current implies flow. Flow implies direction. Direction implies orientation. Orientation implies a framework to move within. No framework had declared itself.
It did not reject meaning.
Rejection implies a proposition to turn away from. Proposition implies intent. Intent implies will. Will implies identity. Identity implies self-recognition. Recognition had not stirred.
It was not void.
Void implies a state relative to fullness. Fullness implies potential to contain. Containment implies a shape to hold. Shape implies boundary. Boundary had never been traced.
