Chapter 254: Chapter 254 I Want to Buy a Dairy Cow (Part 4)_1

Grandma Ji was from the orphanage. She had no family of her own, was all alone in the world, and had dedicated her life to caring for the children there, with Chu Hao being one of them.

He hastily said, "Director Grandpa, I’ll definitely go tomorrow."

After hanging up, Chu Hao thought of the orphanage, a warmth spreading through his heart. Even though he had no relatives in the outside world and was all alone, the orphanage would always be his home.

Chu Hao said, "Tomorrow is the weekend and there’s no class. Come with me to Jiulong Town."

Li Yin nodded. He knew Chu Hao wanted to go there because the orphanage that had taken him in was in Jiulong Town.

"Then you’ll need to buy a lot more things," Li Yin said.

"That’s a must."

Instead of attending evening self-study, Chu Hao went to Sanqing Pavilion, bringing along Wang Meng, Yu Sicheng, and Ankang Mo. They found Sister Wenmi there as well.

When they heard Chu Hao was returning to the orphanage for Grandma Ji’s birthday, the four of them were more than happy to help. Wenmi also called Luo Yan to lend a hand.

To everyone’s surprise, Luo Yan arrived with her mother. Standing together, the two women looked more like sisters than mother and daughter.

Yun’er was very excited, itching to get to Wanda Plaza immediately, so the whole group headed to the mall.

At Wanda Plaza, Li Yin waited for a short while. When Chu Hao arrived with a group, Li Yin’s eyes landed on Yun’er, and he instantly grew agitated. He pulled Chu Hao aside and whispered, "Who’s that girl? It’s over for me; my heart’s been captured!"

Chu Hao cursed, "Get lost, you brat! That’s my future wife."

Hearing this, Li Yin immediately retorted, "You animal! As if you’d leave any for me!"

Despite his words, Li Yin wouldn’t actually pursue Yun’er; after all, she was his buddy’s future wife-to-be.

As for Luo Yan, an absolute knockout, Li Yin wouldn’t dare try to flirt with her. She was too cunning; she could make him blush with just a few words.

But this guy wasn’t one to give up easily, was he? A great responsibility, he felt, had fallen upon him! And wasn’t there still Fang Linxuan? So, he racked his brains for a way to strike up a conversation with her.

Nearby, Luo Yan giggled. "Ah-Hao, your young classmate is quite amusing, trying to hit on my mom."

Damn it! Li Yin wished he could find a hole to crawl into. This gorgeous woman was actually Luo Yan’s mom?

Fang Linxuan smiled gently. "Young man, Auntie Fang can give you a chance." Her smile widened. "Maybe, in the future, Ah-Hao will have to call you Uncle."

Chu Hao was utterly speechless.

Li Yin was equally flabbergasted.

Li Yin was completely subdued; these two women were forces to be reckoned with.

The group went on a huge shopping spree at the mall, buying all sorts of food, clothes, furniture, and appliances.

Following Chu Hao’s instructions, they focused on domestic name brands. For clothes, anything less than a thousand yuan was out. For appliances, they only bought top-tier national brands.

They bought various high-end refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, food items, and the best quality rice.

Chu Hao approached a milk store, paused, and frowned in thought.

Luo Yan asked, "What’s the matter?"

Chu Hao strode in and asked, "Excuse me, do you sell live dairy cows here?"

The staff member thought they’d misheard. Is this guy serious? Coming to a milk store to buy a dairy cow?

"Sir, we... we don’t sell dairy cows," the staff member replied awkwardly.

Luo Yan was flabbergasted. "Ah-Hao, what on earth do you want a dairy cow for?"

Chu Hao sighed. "There are many younger kids at the orphanage who need milk to grow. I figured fresh milk spoils quickly, so I thought about getting a few cows to provide fresh milk directly."

Everyone was deeply moved by his words, and Yun’er was close to tears. This boy is so thoughtful.

Luo Yan, also touched, said, "You’d have to buy dairy cows from a farm. They only sell milk powder here."

Chu Hao sighed. "Too much of the milk powder these days is adulterated. Pure, natural milk is still the best."

Fang Linxuan laughed. "Auntie Fang can help you get dairy cows, but you have to agree to one condition."

Chu Hao asked, "What condition?"

Fang Linxuan whispered in Chu Hao’s ear, "Tonight, Auntie Fang will create an opportunity for you. You are to make Luo Yan yours."

Chu Hao stared at her in disbelief, swallowed hard, and asked, "Auntie Fang, are you serious? Are you kidding me?"

Fang Linxuan said with a straight face, "Do you think Auntie Fang is joking? I think you and Luo Yan are a great match. You’re a bit young now, but you’ll grow up, won’t you?"

Holy crap, this is a real eye-opener! Is she really Luo Yan’s biological mother? To even suggest such a thing! Luo Yan is kind and beautiful, a goddess in the eyes of many. Isn’t it despicable to win her over by such means? But then again... if I refuse, wouldn’t she think I’m being hypocritical?

A flicker of excitement stirred within Chu Hao. He whispered, "Auntie Fang, you said it, not me."

Of course, only an idiot would turn down such an offer!

Fang Linxuan said, "Of course, I said it. Don’t worry, I’ll create the opportunity. You just have to seize it."

Wenmi arranged for large trucks to transport all the goods. They ended up filling three long-bed trucks to the brim—enough supplies to last the orphanage for several years.

They had purchased over five million yuan worth of items. Everyone was busy until eleven at night. Luckily, there were many movers to help; otherwise, they would have been utterly exhausted.

Chu Hao announced, "Dinner’s on me, everyone!"

Everyone nodded. They were indeed tired after shopping all evening, so they headed to a barbecue restaurant.

"I want this! And this!" Qiu Yun’er exclaimed excitedly, her eyes darting over the array of delicious food, completely unable to restrain herself.

They ordered a feast and brought out plenty of alcohol. Naturally, it was strong liquor; beer was too mild for their tastes. Surprisingly, the three women—Luo Yan, Fang Linxuan, and Wenmi—also opted for liquor, proving to be quite the formidable drinkers.

Except for Yun’er, who had a soft drink, everyone else was drinking liquor.

Wang Meng boasted cheerfully, "Not to brag, but among us four guys, I can drink the most!"

Fang Linxuan chuckled. "Oh, really?"

Half an hour later, Wang Meng was thoroughly drunk, a miserable expression on his face.

With a woeful look, Wang Meng slurred, "I... I can’t drink anymore."

Fang Linxuan retorted, "Fine then. Write a note admitting defeat."

Wang Meng: "..."

Fang Linxuan was a live wire, enthusiastically challenging everyone to drinks. She hardly looked like a fifty-year-old woman; rather, she resembled a vibrant young lady, partying harder than anyone present.

It was only after a few rounds that they truly understood Fang Linxuan’s incredible alcohol tolerance; even Yu Sicheng was drinking himself silly trying to keep up with her.

"Mom, please drink a little less," Luo Yan couldn’t help but say, her own face flushed red from the alcohol she’d already consumed.

Fang Linxuan waved her hand dismissively. "It’s fine, it’s fine. I’m just happy today that Ah-Hao introduced me to so many new friends."

Wang Meng, clutching a liquor bottle and thoroughly intoxicated, slurred, "Auntie Fang, you absolutely have to visit Sanqing Pavilion sometime!"

"I’d like to work as a waitress there. Would that be possible?" Fang Linxuan asked with a smile.

Chu Hao, Luo Yan, and Wenmi were dumbfounded. Fang Linxuan is a successful businesswoman. Why on earth would she want to be a waitress?

Wang Meng, equally drunk, stammered, "N-no... no problem! I’ll pay your salary! Ten thousand a month!"

That scamp Wang Meng had recently earned two million yuan with Yu Sicheng from handling that ghost marriage affair.

Fang Linxuan raised her glass, her smile as captivating as a blooming white rose. "Boss Chu, would that be acceptable to you?"

Chu Hao, still at a loss for words, said, "Auntie Fang, you must be joking. Please don’t tease me."

Fang Linxuan stated earnestly, "I am perfectly serious."

"Alright then," Chu Hao conceded.

Fang Linxuan beamed. "Cheers! To my new job!"

Many of them felt they couldn’t stomach another drop, but they reluctantly raised their glasses and downed one more substantial drink.
