Capítulo 904: Chapter 904: [Extra] Premarital Jitters
Sheng Ning’an watched everyone discussing her marriage with boredom and suddenly thought of a question. She turned to Xu Weiran, who was sitting beside her, and said, “Xu Weiran, have you noticed that we never argue?”
“Isn’t it good not to argue?” Xu Weiran raised his eyebrows and looked at her.
Sheng Ning’an tried to organize her words: “It’s not that not arguing is bad, it’s just that it feels like something might be missing between us?”
She couldn’t quite tell what exactly was missing.
She had seen quite a few couples, and almost none of them didn’t argue. Even her grandpa and grandma and her parents occasionally had their spats.
Isn’t it said that good relationships are not about never fighting in a lifetime, but rather being able to stay together for a lifetime even after fighting?
She and Xu Weiran were about to get engaged, but thinking carefully, they had almost never had a falling-out after getting together.
It’s best for a couple to have no conflicts, but there’s a fear that one side might suppress their emotions and dissatisfaction just to avoid a fight.
If accumulated over time, the conflicts will only deepen, becoming irreparable in the end.
Of course, it might also be because both of their emotions are relatively stable.
Xu Weiran patted her on the head and said, “Stop overthinking.”
Sheng Ning’an also felt she might be overthinking, or, as others would say, being a bit melodramatic.
“I think you might have pre-marriage anxiety.” Tang Dou’s voice came through the phone screen.
“Pre-marriage anxiety?”
Tang Dou explained, “A lot of girls experience some psychological changes before getting married. On one hand, they long to enter the marriage hall with the person they like, but on the other hand, they feel uncertainty about life after marriage. This conflicting mindset is called pre-marriage anxiety. I think your current situation fits this, but based on my observation, your guy seems to be a good marriage candidate. The way he is before marriage is unlikely to change after marriage, so you really don’t need to worry.”
Sheng Ning’an felt that what the girl said made some sense.
“Then what do you think I should do now?” Sheng Ning’an completely regarded the girl as her psychological counselor.
Tang Dou: “I think the most important thing you should do now is to have a good night’s sleep. After you wake up, talk to your guy properly.”
Sheng Ning’an: “Talk about what?”
“That’s something you have to figure out. What exactly are you worried about? You two have been dating for almost two years and are living together. You can bring up any dissatisfaction you have with him or your current and future life.”
Bringing up problems, then solving them is the way to go.
However, looking at them, it doesn’t seem there are any major problems.
“I have no complaints.” Xu Weiran, apart from the nature of his work which prevents him from accompanying her often, almost had no flaws.
From looks to education to work and family background, everything is something others envy.
Or perhaps because their relationship is too smooth, having not gone through any rough patches, it seems a bit bland.
Tang Dou suddenly thought of a question and asked her: “Well, have you two, um, you know?”
Sheng Ning’an: “Know what?”
Tang Dou: “Have you two slept together?”
Sheng Ning’an’s cheeks instantly warmed: “Of course not.”
Tang Dou: …
“Alright, now I know what the problem between you two is. Listen to me, go sleep with him right now, and I guarantee you’ll have no issues between you two.”
