Capítulo 901: Chapter 901: [Side Story] Two People, One Cat, One Home, Four Seasons Together

When they got home, both of their shoes were a bit wet.

Especially Xu Weiran, as he held the umbrella for her, half of his sleeve was soaked.

Sheng Ning’an nudged him and said, “Go take a shower quickly, don’t catch a cold.”

While speaking, she sneezed herself.

Xu Weiran laughed and said, “Don’t worry about me. You go first.”

“Got it!”

Sheng Ning’an grabbed some clothes to change into and went to the bathroom, but halfway through the shower she suddenly realized there was no hot water, so she wrapped herself in a bathrobe and hurried out.

“What’s wrong?”

Xu Weiran had changed into a different outfit and was making ginger tea in the living room when he saw Sheng Ning’an rush out with foam still in her hair.

“Can you help me check? The hot water suddenly stopped. Is the water heater broken?” Sheng Ning’an asked, holding a towel on her head to keep it from falling off while urging Xu Weiran.

“Don’t worry, let me take a look.” Xu Weiran went to the kitchen to inspect the water heater.

Sheng Ning’an followed behind him: “How is it? Do we need to call someone to fix it?”

There was nothing wrong with the water heater. Xu Weiran suddenly thought of something and looked at Sheng Ning’an, saying, “Have you not paid the gas bill these past few months?”

Sheng Ning’an looked at him, confused: “What gas bill?” Nobody told her she needed to pay one!

Xu Weiran roughly knew what the problem was.

“It’s okay, wait a moment.” He said, opening his phone, bringing up the gas recharge screen, and after completing the recharge, he said to her, “It should work now. Go try again.”

Before leaving home, he had deposited some money into the utilities account, but this time he was away for too long, so the balance had run out.

Sheng Ning’an wasn’t foolish; she immediately understood what had happened, blushing as she said, “So we didn’t have hot water because we owed money?”

Xu Weiran smiled and reassured her, “It’s my fault, I forgot to remind you to top up the account.”

“Am I stupid? I didn’t even know something so simple.” Sheng Ning’an felt a bit embarrassed.

Thankfully Xu Weiran was there, otherwise, she would’ve been embarrassed in front of others.

Xu Weiran chuckled and said, “How could that be? You haven’t managed these things before, so it’s normal not to know. I’ve just set up automatic payments, so this won’t happen again.”

Ultimately, it was his oversight for not thinking about it sooner.

“Alright, stop overthinking, go shower!” Xu Weiran urged.

Only then did Sheng Ning’an remember that she still had foam in her hair that she hadn’t rinsed out, so she hurried back to the bathroom.

When she finished and came out, she saw Xu Weiran handing her a cup of ginger tea: “Drink some ginger tea to ward off the cold, be careful not to catch a cold.”

Sheng Ning’an held the cup and took a sip. It was sweet with a slight hint of spiciness. The taste wasn’t bad, but not particularly good either. Since it was made by him, she drank the whole cup while it was still hot.

After seeing Sheng Ning’an finish the ginger tea, Xu Weiran went to the bathroom to get a hairdryer, skillfully inviting her, “Come here, I’ll dry your hair.”

Sheng Ning’an sat on the sofa, and Little Cutie immediately snuggled over.

After meowing a couple of times, it found a comfortable position on Sheng Ning’an’s lap, curled up into a ball, and lazily closed its eyes.

While petting the cat, Sheng Ning’an let Xu Weiran help dry her hair.

A warm atmosphere quietly flowed between the two and the cat.

If life could always be like this, it wouldn’t be so bad.

Two people, one cat, one home, spending the seasons together.
