Chapter 267: Chapter 259: Really Not the Least Bit Interested 3
Paused for a moment, Fang Jingyi’s lips curved into a sneer, squinting as she said, "I probably know who the woman you are talking about is."
Liang Yi and Gu Lingyi looked at Fang Jingyi in astonishment and curiosity at the same time.
A cold light flashed in Fang Jingyi’s eyes, then she looked at Liang Yi with determination, "Go back and tell Lingyi’s father not to worry, Lingyi’s future is in my hands. If Mo Chen must marry in this life, his wife will be Lingyi and no one else."
Liang Yi and Gu Lingyi both glanced at each other quickly, their eyes flashing.
Since meeting Fang Jingyi at the hospital, Jin Jumo had been feeling a bit unsettled.
Back at the apartment, Jin Jumo didn’t even notice the men’s leather shoes placed at the entrance.
She tossed her bag on the sofa, then flopped onto it herself, sitting cross-legged and leaning against the backrest.
She looked up, staring quietly at the ceiling above her.
Suddenly, steady footsteps sounded behind her, and Jin Jumo’s eyebrows twitched lightly as she was about to sit up and turn her head.
A pair of large hands held her head firmly from behind, the cool thumb pads softly massaging her temples.
Jin Jumo’s eyes contracted slightly, then she relaxed her back against the sofa.
"Where did you go?" A mellow voice of a man whispered behind her ear.
Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered slightly, gazing at the man standing behind her through the LCD TV screen, her pink lips moving lightly, "I went out for a walk."
Rong Mochen didn’t ask further, his large hands slid down to gently hold Jin Jumo’s shoulders.
Jin Jumo pressed her lips tightly, suddenly dropped her legs and stood up from the sofa, sidestepping his hands on her shoulders, frowning slightly as she headed towards the bedroom, "I’m going to wash my face."
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes paused slightly, his thin lips pressed together slowly as he watched Jin Jumo’s back as she walked into the bedroom.
Jin Jumo washed her face in the bedroom, and half an hour passed by.
When she came out of the bedroom, Jin Jumo’s eyes narrowed momentarily at the sight of him.
He was still standing in the same posture she had left him, standing there with an innate noble grace, even though he was just looking at her lightly without saying a word.
Jin Jumo quickly shifted her gaze, heading towards the kitchen, "Xixi and Hanhan have been taken out to play by Gu Yan..."
She paused, looked back at him, "Do you want some noodles?"
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes flickered, staring at her, "You’re cooking?"
"Not me cooking, unless you want to?" Jin Jumo responded.
Rong Mochen’s brows moved lightly, he rolled up his sleeves, "I’ll give it a try."
"..." Jin Jumo was stunned in place, turning back to look at him.
Rong Mochen walked steadily, naturally grabbing her hand as he passed by Jin Jumo, heading towards the kitchen.
Jin Jumo’s knuckles felt as if they were scalded, twitching slightly.
Her peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly, looking down at his rolled-up exquisite sleeves revealing a strong forearm.
Walking into the kitchen, Jin Jumo saw him skillfully take eggs and tomatoes out of the fridge, her eyelids fluttered slightly, "You know how to make noodles?"
Rong Mochen glanced at her, "Not sure."
"..." Jin Jumo twitched at the corners of her mouth, pulling her hand away, "Let me do it."
She hadn’t forgotten the buns he made for Xixi and Hanhan before, the result was just... unspeakable!
"You assist me." Rong Mochen pressed his lips, looking seriously at the eggs and tomatoes in his hand.
Jin Jumo chuckled, "I only bought two tomatoes, and there are only two eggs left."
The implication being, if you mess it up, there’ll be nothing to eat!
The kitchen in the apartment was just a decoration in the past. Jin Jumo took Xixi and Hanhan out to eat but found no taste, so she had Gu Yan prepare utensils and necessary kitchen equipment to start cooking formally.
These days, Jin Jumo had been preparing food for the little ones because she had to take care of Xixi and Hanhan’s health, so Jin Jumo always bought fresh ingredients for the day, never leaving them overnight, unless they were non-perishables like eggs and tomatoes.
So currently in the fridge, there were only tomatoes and eggs, not even any greens.
Whether or not Rong Mochen understood Jin Jumo’s implication, he handed her the tomato, "Wash it."
Jin Jumo twitched at the corner of her eyes, giving him a sideways glance; truly stubborn!
Seeing Jin Jumo not taking it, Rong Mochen frowned slightly, looking at her in confusion, "What’s wrong?"
What’s wrong indeed?
Jin Jumo was speechless, taking the tomato.
Rong Mochen held the two eggs, staring at them for a full two minutes before taking a small glass bowl from the cupboard. He then stared at the eggs for another minute before suddenly squeezing one, breaking it with a splat.
Jin Jumo, "..."
After a few seconds of being stunned, Jin Jumo couldn’t stand it and held her forehead, thinking that if she didn’t see it, it wouldn’t bother her, she turned and left the kitchen.
Rong Mochen was momentarily stunned, staring at Jin Jumo’s departing back for a bit before turning back and focusing on the "egg breaking" task.
With the kitchen taken over by someone, Jin Jumo felt a bit bored, so she took out her phone to call Gu Yan and check on Xixi and Hanhan.
However, she had just said a few words to Gu Yan and hadn’t had the chance to talk to Xixi and Hanhan when she heard a "boom" explode from the kitchen.
Jin Jumo’s heart almost jumped out of her chest, her body reacting before her mind, she dropped the phone and dashed towards the kitchen.
"Rong Mochen..."
"Don’t come in!"
Jin Jumo’s urgent footsteps were halted at the kitchen door.
Inside the kitchen, a continuous clanging noise echoed.
Jin Jumo was anxious, gritting her teeth, "Rong Mochen, open the door quickly."
Inside, the sound of banging continues, and he doesn’t answer her.
Jin Jumo anxiously pressed her lips together, reaching out to bang on the door, "Rong Mochen, open the door for me, open it quickly."
Swish...
The door opened in front of her.
Jin Jumo immediately grabbed his arm, pulling him out from inside, anxiously examining him, "Are you okay? Are you okay?"
Rong Mochen felt Jin Jumo’s hands trembling nonstop on his arm, his dark eyes slightly tightened, and he held her hand in return, "I’m fine."
"..." Jin Jumo breathed rapidly, raising her trembling eyes filled with concern at him, her lips moved for a while before murmuring out a sentence, "You scared me to death."
Rong Mochen gazed at Jin Jumo’s pale face, his thin lips slowly curled up, his large hand opened to rub through her long hair.
Jin Jumo felt a bit angry and avoided him.
She walked past him, looking at the mess on the kitchen floor, her delicate eyebrows tightly furrowed.
"Well, messed it up," a slightly sulky voice brushed past her ear.
Jin Jumo twitched her lips.
Isn’t it messed up!
The black lumps all over the floor, she didn’t even need to think to know it was burnt eggs cooked by him.
Who else could fry eggs like this?
Take a look at the neat countertop.
Grease and eggs were everywhere, the frying pan was in a mess too, with the bottom still flickering with sparks, tossed into the sink.
Earlier, the terrifying explosion, it was probably the oil heated too much or already caught fire, with someone who hardly ever entered the kitchen hurriedly tossing eggs in, causing an even bigger flame and explosion.
Luckily, there wasn’t much oil in the pan, otherwise...
Jin Jumo pressed her lips tightly together, seeing that the gas was already turned off, then turned back to look at someone.
Rong Mochen added, his thin lips lifted gently, "I didn’t mean to."
"I know you didn’t mean to, if you did, the kitchen might’ve been on fire by now," Jin Jumo said nonchalantly.
Rong Mochen’s eyes twitched lightly at the corner.
Jin Jumo furrowed her brows, walked up to him, and whispered, "Are you really okay?"
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes flashed lightly, he shook his head.
Jin Jumo stared at him for a few seconds, then suddenly reached out and grabbed his big hand.
Rong Mochen’s hand stiffened, looking at her.
Jin Jumo saw the two red blisters prominently raised on the back of his hand, her heart unexpectedly twitched, she said nothing, pulling him towards the living room.
Jin Jumo found a medical kit, half-squatting in front of him.
She disinfected with clean water first, then took out burn ointment and gently applied it to him.
The entire process, neither of them spoke.
Jin Jumo placed the ointment back into the medical kit, stood up, intending to put the medical kit back in its place, her wrist was suddenly grasped by someone.
Jin Jumo lightly gasped, turning back in shock to stare at him.
Yet he wasn’t looking at her, but at her wrist, his expression cold as ice.
Jin Jumo narrowed her eyes slightly, slowly looking towards the bruising on her wrist.
That was from when Fang Jingyi forcibly grabbed her at the hospital.
"What’s up with your wrist?" Rong Mochen locked onto Jin Jumo, the chill trickling from deep within his eyes.
Jin Jumo blinked, twisting her wrist attempting to pull back.
But Rong Mochen suddenly exerted force, pinching her fingers and pulling her.
Jin Jumo’s feet involuntarily leaned forward, sitting sideways on someone’s lap.
Her heart tightened, her watery eyes gradually seeped with panic, looking at him, "What are you doing?"
"What’s up with the injury on your wrist?" Rong Mochen coldly stared at Jin Jumo, persistently asking.
Jin Jumo’s eyes quickly flashed, avoiding his sharp gaze, she said softly, "I accidentally hit the wall and got hurt."
"Little Mo!" Rong Mochen suddenly scolded lightly.
Jin Jumo’s spine tingled, she bit her lower lip, timidly looking at him.
"No lying allowed," Rong Mochen looked at her sternly.
"...I, I didn’t," Jin Jumo faltered under his discerning gaze.
"Still lying?" Rong Mochen squeezed her chin angrily.
Jin Jumo’s eyes flashed intensely, subconsciously avoiding his gaze, her chin twisted towards him, yet her head desperately turned in the opposite direction.
Rong Mochen angrily ground his back teeth, simply cupping her head with both hands, twisting her to face him forcefully, "Are you stubborn with me?"
Jin Jumo’s face turned red, reaching out to pry his hands, "I’m not lying, you’re just refusing to believe."
"If you tell the truth, wouldn’t I believe it?" Rong Mochen sneered, his big palm gripping her defiant hand, a trace of helplessness appeared on his brow, "Little Mo, can’t you trust me?"
Jin Jumo gazed into his deep eyes, suddenly quieted down, and slowly said, "I’ve always trusted you."
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes contracted.
Jin Jumo took a deep breath, tugging her lips at him, "If you really want to know, I’ll tell you."
