Chapter 231: Chapter 226: Otherwise, I Will Be Unhappy 2
This action instantly shocked the three people present, including Jin Jumo.
The sound of the paper ripping echoed several times before Jin Jumo suddenly came to her senses and grabbed Rong Mochen’s hand, which was about to continue, glaring at him in shock and anger, "Are you crazy?"
This is thirty-five million! Does he really think it’s just paper?
Seeing Jin Jumo so tense, Rong Mochen smiled slightly, his black eyes gently staring at her, "You little money grubber."
"..."
Jin Jumo blushed, ignoring everything else, hurriedly picking out the pieces of the check from his palm.
"I don’t want it anymore."
After Jin Jumo pried all the fragments from his palm, Rong Mochen casually said this and gently patted Jin Jumo’s hand.
The fragments Jin Jumo just held in her hand scattered all over the floor.
Some even flew quite far.
Jin Jumo’s anger flared up, "Rong Mochen, what’s gotten into you? Do you even know what you just tore up?"
Rong Mochen, undisturbed by Jin Jumo’s yelling, simply held her hand, his black eyes gently looking at Jin Jumo, "If you like them, I’ll write you some checks to play with tomorrow."
To play with?
Jin Jumo was so furious she was trembling, her face twitching, glaring and fiercely pulling her hand away.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t pull her hand from his larger hand.
Jin Jumo was both anxious and angry, her eyes red as she stared at him, "Let me go!"
"Let you go to pick up those useless scraps of paper?" Rong Mochen snorted softly.
Scraps of paper?
Jin Jumo’s head ached with anger, yet facing his indifferent demeanor, as if she was being unreasonable, she lost the ability to speak and could only glare at him.
Rong Mochen patted her head, gently holding Jin Jumo’s soft hand in his palm before lifting his black eyes, gazing quietly at Liang Yi, ignoring the shock on Liang Yi’s face, "Does Ms. Liang have anything else to say?"
Still in shock, Liang Yi opened her mouth at his words but couldn’t say anything.
Thirty-five million, and he tore it like it was nothing...
"Nothing, Little Mo and I will take our leave."
Rong Mochen paused, his black eyes deep as he gazed at Liang Yi, his tone still calm and without fluctuation, "Also, Little Mo likes peace and doesn’t like being disturbed."
At this, Rong Mochen’s voice was tinged with a trace of coldness, yet his words seemed to carry a hint of a smile, sending chills down others’ spines, "If possible, please don’t appear in front of Little Mo casually, or else I won’t be happy."
Liang Yi’s heart trembled, watching helplessly as Jin Jumo was led into the apartment by Rong Mochen.
"Brother Mo Chen." Gu Lingyi came to her senses, eager to chase after them.
"Yiyi." Liang Yi hurriedly pulled her back.
"Brother Mo Chen, you can’t do this, you can’t treat me like this, Brother Mo Chen..." Gu Lingyi hysterically cried out to the retreating figures of Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo’s expression was solemn, her eyes glancing at a certain someone.
Rong Mochen’s expression was indifferent, showing no extra reaction whatsoever.
Jin Jumo’s eyes shimmered slightly, her lips curving into a mocking smile.
Perhaps in this world, aside from Tang Ruan, no one could stir this man’s emotions!
Seeing the curve at Jin Jumo’s lips, Rong Mochen’s black brows furrowed, scoffing softly, "Stop overthinking."
Jin Jumo furrowed her brows tightly, not saying a word.
Before the elevator doors closed, Jin Jumo could still hear Gu Lingyi’s heart-wrenching cries echoing.
Pressing her lips together tightly, Jin Jumo hesitated for a moment, looking at Rong Mochen, "Is Mr. Rong really going to break off the engagement with Miss Gu?"
Rong Mochen glanced at Jin Jumo through the elevator’s reflective wall, only giving a light "hmm."
Jin Jumo’s brows furrowed even tighter.
She then heard him say, "If I don’t break off the engagement, how am I supposed to marry you legitimately?"
"..." Jin Jumo’s heart skipped a beat, lifting her head nervously, staring at Rong Mochen’s solemn, stern profile.
Rong Mochen squinted slightly, slowly lowering his eyes, his black eyes seemingly calm, yet also appearing to hide a pool of sincerity, his voice earnest, "I won’t let you marry begrudgingly."
Jin Jumo’s lips trembled twice, turning away in a flustered rush, taking a deep breath, "Mr. Rong, you speak as if I have to marry you."
As soon as Jin Jumo’s words fell, she felt a sting in her palm.
Her dark, glossy eyes flickered, and she bit her lip, watching as Rong Mochen suddenly tightened his grip on her hand, hesitating for a moment before trying to extract her hand.
The result was obviously unsuccessful.
Jin Jumo took a deep breath, her eyes clear yet unable to conceal her flustered anger as she stared at him, "Mr. Rong, you’re hurting me!"
"If you don’t marry me, who do you plan to marry?" Rong Mochen’s questioning voice was very low, yet bone-chillingly cold.
Jin Jumo quickly lowered her eyelashes, staying silent, focusing solely on withdrawing her hand from his grip.
Suddenly, her hand was lifted high by him.
Her entire being was pulled up sideways by him, and Jin Jumo gasped in surprise, her long, thick eyelashes fluttering a few times as she looked at him.
Rong Mochen reached out with his other hand to pinch Jin Jumo’s slightly trembling chin, his black eyes staring at her like a vampire, "Little Mo, let me put it this way: if you wish to marry in this lifetime, no one but me is possible! Don’t believe it? Try me!"
"You’re too overbearing!" Jin Jumo whispered angrily.
Rong Mochen narrowed his eyes, turning his head away from her. "I know."
"..." Jin Jumo was furious, but deep down, she was very confused. Frowning tightly, she yanked his hand away angrily, "Let go of me, didn’t you hear that you’re hurting me?"
Rong Mochen still didn’t look at her. "You’re being disobedient, this is your punishment."
"Rong Mochen, you tyrant!" Jin Jumo’s face flushed red with anger.
Rong Mochen couldn’t even be bothered to respond now.
Jin Jumo glared at him, her eyes turning bloodshot, and yet he didn’t pay her any heed.
Biting her lip, knowing that once this man decided to be ruthless, no matter how much she glared at him, once he decided to ignore her, he absolutely would.
Pouting, Jin Jumo reluctantly withdrew her gaze, turning her face to the side, and stopped talking.
Rong Mochen watched her from the reflective wall of the elevator, his long, dark eyelashes drooping slightly, and a hint of self-mockery flitting through his black eyes.
In the apartment, Jin Jumo and Rong Mochen sat stubbornly in the living room on the sofa for nearly fifteen minutes.
Jin Jumo couldn’t sit still, worried about the two little ones in the car.
With a frown of anxiety, she got up and was about to go out.
"Where are you going?" Rong Mochen lightly lifted his eyelids, staring indifferently at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo didn’t look at him and walked towards the door.
Rong Mochen watched her back, his dark eyes deep.
It was only when she reached the door that he slowly spoke, "Didn’t Liang Yi and her daughter already block you enough just now, are you going down to seek more trouble?"
Jin Jumo’s steps paused, and she turned to look at Rong Mochen.
She hesitated slightly, then walked toward the bedroom.
Entering the bedroom, Jin Jumo quickly went to the window, pulled open a corner of the curtain, and looked down. Sure enough, Liang Yi and Gu Lingyi hadn’t left.
Gu Lingyi seemed to be crying, with Liang Yi holding her and comforting her continuously.
The genuine concern on Liang Yi’s face only looked unfamiliar to Jin Jumo.
Many times, she didn’t understand.
Clearly, both she and Gu Lingyi were her daughters, but why were their treatments worlds apart...
Liang Yi could show deep empathy toward Gu Lingyi, but to her, it was as if she wanted nothing to do with her.
A pair of earrings, two million; even the bag she carried was worth tens of thousands, and selling some jewelry casually could fetch millions.
Back then, she needed her so much, forced to seek her out regardless of everything.
Yet she was worried about her clinging on, using it as an excuse not to see her.
A year later, she sold everything she had, and yet she hypocritically came to the hospital with twenty thousand, saying how difficult it was to give that money, fearing she might covet something of hers and wouldn’t let go.
Jin Jumo pressed the spot over her heart; it felt rough and still hurt.
Jin Jumo couldn’t deny that in these four years, she still often thought of her, the mother who heartlessly abandoned her then.
Her grandfather died tragically, and during the most challenging times, raising two crying babies, she would think of her.
She envied women who, after giving birth, had their mother’s help and care; she envied them.
But that’s how this world is; some things you want but can never have. You can see them, but when you reach out, they seem as distant as the horizon, forever unattainable.
So Jin Jumo always tells herself, stop thinking about it, what difference does it make without her, life wouldn’t change regardless...
"Weren’t you going down to pick up the kids?"
A deep male voice suddenly spoke beside her ear.
Jin Jumo stiffened, lifting her tear-filled eyes at the man she hadn’t realized had appeared behind her.
Rong Mochen’s face was calm, his dark eyes coldly staring at Jin Jumo’s reddened eyes, "What’s there to cry about?"
His words made her tears instantly roll out from Jin Jumo’s eyes.
Rong Mochen stared at her, his thin lips drawn into a tight line.
He raised his hand, clumsily wiping her tears away, his voice even more deeply resonant, "Useless!"
Jin Jumo felt embarrassed and somewhat awkward, flinging his hand away to cover her face, turning her back to Rong Mochen. "Who allowed you to come in?"
Rong Mochen frowned, gripping her shoulders, instantly turning her around again.
He forcefully pulled her hands away from her face, his black eyes coldly staring at her reddened eyes, the sudden surge of anger in his eyes making Jin Jumo somewhat panicked, as she pushed against his confining grasp, trying to leave.
Rong Mochen, however, held tighter, gripping Jin Jumo’s hands with such force it seemed he wanted to rip them away.
Jin Jumo felt her heart tremble from the pain, her face turning pale, looking at Rong Mochen’s cold, shadowed face.
"If she doesn’t want you, then don’t want her! She hasn’t gained anything from you, and you haven’t lost anything. No need to waste emotions on someone irrelevant!" Rong Mochen stared at Jin Jumo, his voice chilling, as if from the depths of the earth.
Jin Jumo didn’t dare meet his eyes, her voice trembling, "Let go of me, I’m really hurting."
"..." Rong Mochen’s breathing deepened, glancing at Jin Jumo’s hand, red and blue from his grip, his black eyes changed slightly, suddenly releasing her hand. Without saying anything, he stepped aside, walked out of the bedroom with large strides.
The door slammed shut in front of Jin Jumo with a bang.
Jin Jumo’s cheek twitched slightly, gripping her wrist with one hand, pressing it to her heart, gasping as she stared at the doorway.
