Chapter 197: Chapter 193: She Is the Woman I Love (Part 2)
"Don’t, don’t touch me!" Xu Ruyao’s forehead was covered in large beads of sweat. Her eyes were squinted, and even breathing was difficult.
"Wife, wife..."
Ying Yunheng was weaving through the guests, exchanging pleasantries, when he noticed Xu Ruyao’s situation and immediately abandoned the gathering to rush towards her.
Hearing his voice, Xu Ruyao abruptly shoved Ying Jingyao away. Turning too forcefully, her eyes rolled back, and she suddenly fainted.
"Wife..." Ying Yunheng shouted urgently, catching her just before she hit the ground.
Ying Jingyao’s expression changed dramatically as he rushed forward, staring wide-eyed at Xu Ruyao in Ying Yunheng’s arms, "Mom."
Ying Yunheng held Xu Ruyao tightly, casting a pained glance at Ying Jingyao before quickly heading toward the restaurant entrance with her in his arms.
Ying Jingyao made a move to follow but inexplicably paused.
Both of his hands clenched into fists.
Jin Jumo looked in the direction where Ying Yunheng left, feeling a heavy weight on her chest that made it hard to breathe.
Rong Mochen noticed and slightly furrowed his handsome brows.
"Go quickly, leave this to me," Ruan Chen stepped forward and lightly patted Ying Jingyao’s shoulder.
Ying Jingyao turned back and took a long, hard look at Jin Jumo, his thin lips tightening before he chased after.
Jin Jumo bit her lower lip gently, watching Ying Jingyao’s retreating figure, and followed.
Rong Mochen squinted slightly but said nothing, scanning Lei Yicheng and Huo Chengjin before following behind Jin Jumo.
Lei Yicheng glanced at the astonished guests present, and with the black-suited men on either side of the red carpet at the door, also dispersed.
Before leaving, Huo Chengjin gave Ruan Chen a seemingly indifferent glance, his thin lips curled in a wicked smile as he strode away.
Ruan Chen watched Huo Chengjin’s slender figure leave, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.
Hospital.
The doctor examined Xu Ruyao and concluded that her angina was caused by excessive anger, cautioning her to avoid intense emotional stimulation. Other than that, there was nothing seriously wrong.
At this moment, Xu Ruyao was lying in the VIP ward, having already awakened.
Upon waking, Xu Ruyao looked at Ying Yunheng and Ying Jingyao who were keeping vigil by her bedside, glanced around the ward, and, not seeing those she did not wish to see, gently closed her eyes again.
"Wife, how do you feel?" Ying Yunheng sat at the edge of the bed, holding Xu Ruyao’s hand, softly inquiring.
Xu Ruyao, her eyes slightly red, looked at Ying Yunheng and merely shook her head lightly.
Ying Yunheng stared at her, internally sighing and said in a low voice, "Children have their own blessings, you don’t need to get so worked up."
Xu Ruyao looked at Ying Jingyao standing by the bedside, her voice hoarse, "How can I not be? My Jingyao is good in every aspect but had to encounter such a woman, how can I be content!"
Ying Jingyao pursed his lips, "Mom, Momo isn’t like you think she is."
"You’re still defending her?" Tears filled Xu Ruyao’s eyes, "On one hand, she has children with others, and on the other, she clings to you. Not to mention her ambition, her character alone wouldn’t be accepted by a family like ours, nor even by an ordinary family!
Jingyao, you know about President Rong’s engagement. Miss Gu’s family wealth is substantial; her father is a real estate tycoon. Her background fits perfectly to marry into the Rong Family. Miss Gu is undoubtedly President Rong’s chosen bride. That woman doesn’t stand a chance.
Now that she knows she can’t marry into the Rong Family, she’s turned her sights onto you. Son, listen to your mother, stop seeing this woman, can you cut it off, please?"
"Precisely because she can’t marry into the Rong Family, it’s easier for me to have her," Ying Jingyao replied.
"What’s so good about her? Your stubbornness... do you intend to drive me to my grave?" Xu Ruyao’s heartfelt words were met with such a retort, she was momentarily speechless with rage.
Seeing her struggling to breathe, Ying Yunheng quickly soothed her back, his worry evident, "Alright, alright, let our son’s matters be handled by himself, don’t concern yourself."
"You see his attitude, he insists on marrying that woman! If I don’t worry, should I expect you to worry? Let me tell you, Ying Yunheng, Jingyao turned out this way because of you. If you hadn’t indulged him in everything since he was small, being afraid he’d be spoiled were he in your mouth, or dropped if in your hands, would he be like this now?" Xu Ruyao delivered a string of words leaving her face turning blue.
Ying Yunheng pressed his lips tightly, silently soothing her back.
Ying Jingyao gazed at Xu Ruyao, his eyes deep, and also remained silent.
At the ward door, Jin Jumo leaned against the wall, knowing this instant, Xu Ruyao probably didn’t want to see her.
Every word from the conversation inside the ward fell upon her ears.
Whether she was numbed or not, she felt no inner turmoil upon hearing this.
Slight weight settled on her shoulder as a coat was draped over her from behind.
The coat was long, almost completely covering her from shoulder to toes.
Two intimate shadows overlapped on the ground; Jin Jumo shut her eyes, didn’t lift her head, removed the coat from her shoulder, and silently set it on a nearby bench before she headed out of the hospital.
The click-clack of high heels echoed monotonously, a lonely sound.
Rong Mochen watched her solitary and desolate figure depart, a sharp pang cutting through his heart.
"Put me down," Jin Jumo demanded.
Rong Mochen paid no heed, his strides growing longer as he walked.
"Put me down!" Jin Jumo repeated.
Rong Mochen’s thin lips drew a straight line, maintaining silence, he continued his way.
Jin Jumo stared at him, her face indifferent, devoid of any emotion.
Rong Mochen carried her to the front passenger seat of the Infiniti.
Jin Jumo lowered her eyes. As he rounded the car to the driver’s seat, she abruptly pushed open the car door and got out, picking any direction at random and walked briskly.
Rong Mochen’s handsome face tensed, his dark eyes deepened as he stepped forward, grabbing her arm from behind and pulling her back.
In a swift moment, Jin Jumo furiously pushed him away.
Off guard, Rong Mochen stepped back two paces.
Jin Jumo turned and quickened her pace to a jog.
Rong Mochen’s fists tightened, his long brows knitting towards his nose, and in three steps, he caught up, grabbing Jin Jumo’s shoulders and turning her to face him.
"What exactly do you want to do?" Using some force to turn her, it felt as if her shoulders were being torn apart.
This pain brought out all of Jin Jumo’s pent-up negative emotions.
She glared at Rong Mochen, her eyes fiery red, her lower lip nearly bitten through, her voice low with anger.
Rong Mochen swallowed, suppressing his inner turmoil, and gazed at her, his voice hoarse, "Don’t mess with me."
Mess?
Jin Jumo turned her head slightly, a cold smile tugging at her lips, she rubbed the corner of her eye that ached, choosing silence, and reached to remove his iron grip from her shoulder.
Only, as expected, she couldn’t prevail!
Instead, it provoked him into gripping her shoulder bones more fiercely.
Jin Jumo’s eyelashes were damp, yet she obstinately stared at Rong Mochen’s grim face, bravely but silently enduring the pain, refusing to plead for mercy.
Staring into Jin Jumo’s indifferent eyes, which held a tinge of hatred, Rong Mochen felt within his chest a feeling he had never experienced, wanting to strangle but unable to bring himself to, being forced instead to try to understand her.
Watching her for a long time with heavy, chilling eyes, Rong Mochen closed his eyes. When he opened them again, they were calm, devoid of any emotion. Bending, he once more lifted the struggling Jin Jumo, striding back to the car with broad steps.
