Chapter 139: Chapter 136: Suddenly So Thoughtful (2)
Jin Jumo curled the corner of her mouth, "Anyway, just don’t do that again in the future."
Jian Liangtong pouted and nodded, unable to resist reaching out to hug Jin Jumo intimately, her restless hands wandering over Jin Jumo’s belly, "Ju Zi, I’ve missed you so much these days. Come, let me touch my little baby..."
Jin Jumo knew the little baby she was referring to were the two little ones in her belly, but she still got goosebumps from Jian Liangtong’s intermittently clingy antics, both amused and at her wit’s end, just about to push her away when her peripheral vision suddenly caught two towering icebergs standing at the doorway of the hospital room...
Jin Jumo was momentarily dumbfounded, looking at the expressions on those two icebergs’ faces, then looking at her and Jian Liangtong’s current posture and the suggestive words Jian Liangtong just said...
Jin Jumo slowly pursed her lips, so, is there even a need for an explanation? Cry...
"Whoa, Ju Zi, it’s gotten bigger." Jian Liangtong didn’t notice Jin Jumo’s strangeness at all, her hands slipping into Jin Jumo’s coat to feel her belly.
Round and bulging, it had clearly formed a noticeable arc, instantly making her eyes go wide in astonishment, staring at Jin Jumo’s belly.
It’s gotten bigger...
Jin Jumo suddenly felt these two words were also highly ambiguous, twitching the corner of her mouth, she hurriedly tried to drag Jian Liangtong’s mischievous little hand off her belly, while sheepishly smiling at the two at the hospital room door, "Mr. Rong, why are you standing at the door, come on in."
Mr. Rong?
Jian Liangtong’s hand froze, caught off guard, she was suddenly pulled out from Jin Jumo’s coat.
She stood up straight and upright, with her back to the door, looking at Jin Jumo with a distressed expression: Why didn’t you say sooner?
Jin Jumo rolled her eyes: I just saw them too!
"..."
Jian Liangtong felt a chill in her heart, she took a sharp breath and turned around with forced cheerfulness, grinning at the two people at the door, "Big Boss, Little Brother, come on in."
Huo Shaojun’s face was exceedingly gloomy, his brows tightly furrowed, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, eyes cold and incredulous as he glanced at Jin Jumo, finally settling on Jian Liangtong, his gaze had already turned icy cold.
In contrast, Rong Mochen was relatively calmer, although his sharply chiseled face was more severe than when he left that morning, it was far better compared to Huo Shaojun.
Jian Liangtong glanced at Huo Shaojun, her long straight eyelashes blinking cluelessly. She could understand why the Big Boss was upset with her; after all, her actions had caused Jin Jumo to fall. But what was with this look on his face? Had she unknowingly upset him again somehow?
Jian Liangtong was bewildered, but Jin Jumo was crystal clear about the situation. It was obvious there was no ’affair’ between her and Jian Liangtong; the reason Huo Shaojun was unhappy was probably because he felt a bit uncomfortable seeing them so close. In other words, the overly possessive man was jealous!
Licking her lips, Jin Jumo glanced back at Jin Jiancheng, who was fast asleep in the hospital bed, guessing he wouldn’t wake up so soon, and besides, it was lunch time.
She then picked up Jian Liangtong’s bag from the bedside table, stuffed it into her hands, and pulled her towards the two men, "I know a good Chinese restaurant near the hospital, let’s go eat there, okay?"
"Sure, sure." The two men hadn’t spoken yet, but Jian Liangtong had already eagerly agreed.
Jin Jumo laughed in exasperation, helplessly giving her a look.
Jian Liangtong was clueless, her wide, bright eyes appearing especially innocent.
Jin Jumo sighed inwardly, looking at Huo Shaojun, whose face was as dark as charcoal, her peach blossom eyes narrowing slightly, she let go of Jian Liangtong’s hand, and walked towards Rong Mochen, voluntarily taking his arm, looking up with a smiling face, "Mr. Rong, what do you think?"
Rong Mochen slightly lowered his gaze, peering into Jin Jumo’s eyes which shimmered like clear water and peach blossoms. His stern face softened a bit, and he nodded lightly, "Sure."
Jin Jumo’s eyes curved into a smile, turning her neck slightly towards Huo Shaojun, "What does Mr. Huo think?"
Huo Shaojun frowned, remaining cool and silent, he took the sunglasses hanging from his chest coat pocket and put them on, which was as good as a nod.
Jin Jumo raised an eyebrow, "Then let’s go."
Rong Mochen nodded, the two walked side by side towards the door, but after a few steps, they both stopped suddenly, turning their heads in unison to find Jian Liangtong, who had unwittingly ’naturally’ walked up to Jin Jumo’s side and taken her arm.
Jian Liangtong’s heart skipped a beat, "You guys, why are you looking at me?"
"..." Jin Jumo was tempted to reach out and poke her head, squeezing out a word through gritted teeth, "Idiot!"
"..." Jian Liangtong was so perplexed she forgot to retort, staring at Jin Jumo with wide, dumbfounded eyes.
Jin Jumo closed her eyes briefly, unable to watch her stay so clueless, she turned back to glance at Huo Shaojun, who was so intimidating even ghosts wouldn’t dare approach.
Jian Liangtong looked puzzled, following Jin Jumo’s line of sight to see Huo Shaojun standing there. Even in his coat with wide sleeves, his strained muscles were visible as he clenched his arms, the sharp, cold gaze piercing through the sunglasses and stabbing straight at Jian Liangtong!
Jian Liangtong’s lips twitched hard.
Could she say she just acted out of habit?!
Whenever Jin Jumo was present, she habitually followed her lead, instinctively walking wherever she went, and naturally linking arms with her. So, when Jin Jumo moved forward, she subconsciously followed suit...
"Hurry up and go over there." Jin Jumo saw that she was in a daze and couldn’t bear to remind her.
"...Oh, oh, oh." Jian Liangtong finally reacted, quickly letting go of Jin Jumo’s hand and walking towards Huo Shaoyun. She tightly grasped Huo Shaoyun’s slender hand, looking at him nervously, and whispered, "I’m sorry, I’m used to it."
Huo Shaoyun furrowed his brows so tightly that they could pinch a fly’s leg, yet he didn’t shake off Jian Liangtong’s hand because he could feel her tension and unease.
He glanced down at her hand, which had turned pale from gripping his hand so tightly, and the tension in her knuckles. A softness flashed in Huo Shaoyun’s cold eyes, and he said in a stiff tone, "Three strikes and you’re out."
Jian Liangtong knew she was at fault and agreed to whatever he said.
"Let’s go." Huo Shaoyun raised his eyes and looked at Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo, who had already walked some distance, and said softly.
Seeing the gentle lines on his face, Jian Liangtong knew he wasn’t angry. Instantly, she smiled and wrapped her other hand around his arm, "I knew you couldn’t bear to stay mad at me."
Huo Shaoyun gave her a glare in mock annoyance, but the corners of his thin lips couldn’t help but twitch slightly.
Time flew by, and more than ten days had passed since Jin Jiancheng woke up.
During these days, Jin Jumo was shuttling between the hospital and Jinming Port City. Seeing that Jin Jiancheng’s complexion was getting better and his conscious hours were getting longer day by day, Jin Jumo felt a surge of happiness, and her appearance became more rosy and plump.
That day, after Jin Jiancheng woke up for three hours in the morning and fell asleep again, Jin Jumo planned to go bask in the sun with Xiao Yao in the hospital garden.
As soon as they walked out of the ward, Ying Jingyao came walking toward them from one side of the corridor.
Xiao Yao had taken a two to three-month leave to return to his hometown due to some matters and was unaware of Jin Jumo’s pregnancy, so he thought there was something between Jin Jumo and Ying Jingyao.
Seeing Ying Jingyao coming over, Xiao Yao whispered something suggestively in Jin Jumo’s ear, waved at Ying Jingyao from afar, and then walked away in another direction.
Ying Jingyao approached Jin Jumo, his temperament gentle as jade, his gaze as soft as the moonlight as he looked at her, the corners of his lips curving, "You look great recently."
Jin Jumo smiled, "It’s only natural to feel happy in joyous times, right?"
Ying Jingyao slightly narrowed his eyes, turned his head to look at the warm sun, and said, "The weather is nice."
"I was just about to go sunbathe in the garden with Xiao Yao. Now that he’s left, Brother Ying, are you interested?" Jin Jumo looked at Ying Jingyao calmly.
Ever since Grandpa woke up, Ying Jingyao seemed to have been deliberately avoiding her, even doing routine checks on Grandpa when she was not around.
Today, he didn’t avoid her, so he must have something to say.
Ying Jingyao slightly raised an eyebrow, "I was just thinking the same thing."
The winter sun in the hospital garden looked warm, but it wasn’t very warm when it fell on the skin.
Jin Jumo, dressed in a large parka and European and American plaid skinny pants, wore warm tawny snow boots. Standing in the garden, she had to gently stamp her feet, or staying still would be even colder.
Suddenly, a black cashmere glove appeared before her.
Jin Jumo’s thick and long eyelashes fluttered, and she reached out to take it, but didn’t put it on. She looked at Ying Jingyao and said, "Brother Ying, no wonder all the young nurses in the hospital see you as a heartthrob."
Ying Jingyao chuckled, but there was a hint of loneliness on his handsome face. He looked at the glove in Jin Jumo’s hand, hesitated for a moment, and suddenly reached out to grasp her delicate wrist.
Jin Jumo’s heart tightened, "Brother Ying..."
Ying Jingyao, eyes downcast, took the glove from her hand and gently slipped it onto her fair and delicate hand. With the glove on, he tightly held her hand, fully enveloping it in his grasp.
Jin Jumo could feel the subtle pain in her knuckles. Her eyes gently narrowed, and as Jin Jumo tried to pull her hand away, she couldn’t. Her long eyelashes drooped and then slowly lifted. Looking at Ying Jingyao, she softly spoke, "Brother Ying, you’re hurting me."
"Momo." The force in Ying Jingyao’s hand didn’t relax at all after Jin Jumo’s words. Instead, he held on even tighter, his tone earnest, almost tense, "Let me ask you once more, would you be willing to go to the UK with me?"
Jin Jumo was momentarily stunned, "... Brother Ying, are you leaving?"
"The flight is the day after tomorrow." Ying Jingyao locked eyes with Jin Jumo, the depth of expectation and passion in his gaze was so intense that she didn’t dare to meet his eyes.
Jin Jumo slightly averted her eyes, tugged at the corner of her mouth, and softly asked, "Will you come back?"
"I don’t know." Ying Jingyao gazed deeply at Jin Jumo, not saying a word, but the strength with which he held her hand intensified.
Jin Jumo frowned partly due to the increasing pain in her hand and partly because of his words.
Taking a deep breath, Jin Jumo’s face broke into a smile as she looked at him, "Brother Ying, have a safe journey."
The hope in Ying Jingyao’s eyes seemed to be pierced by a needle, suddenly tearing it apart, "Momo, I don’t want to force you into a decision you don’t want to make. I want to respect your choice, but if I know that the decision you make will lead you down a difficult path, that you’ll get hurt, I can’t just let you make that decision without trying to stop you!"
