Chapter 129: Chapter 126: I Can Understand
"You speak of business, but in matters of the heart, emotions can cloud judgment, and even Mo Chen, being human, might misjudge someone." Tang Ruan looked at Rong Sinan softly, her words seemingly out of goodwill, without a hint of personal motive.
Rong Sinan narrowed his eyes slightly, gripping her hand more tightly, his gaze deep and unsettling to Tang Ruan.
Tang Ruan crouched in front of him again, looking up anxiously, "Sinan, if I’ve upset you by doing this, I promise there won’t be a next time."
Rong Sinan pressed his thin lips tightly, looking down at Tang Ruan with a quiet gaze, and said softly, "You say you’re worried about Momo, that it’s all for Mo Chen’s good. But what about our plans for a baby?"
Tang Ruan’s eyes shrank visibly, lowering her head, "Mo Chen isn’t even married and already has a child, while we’ve been married for a year and my belly shows no sign. I’m worried you’ll be disappointed, and I don’t want us to fall behind Mo Chen. Grandpa has always liked Mo Chen more than you, I’m scared..."
"Ruan Ruan!" Tang Ruan was cut off by Rong Sinan’s deep voice.
Tang Ruan’s face turned pale, raising her eyes in panic to look at Rong Sinan.
Rong Sinan furrowed his brows tightly, "Do you really think Grandpa likes Mo Chen more than me?"
"I..." Tang Ruan blinked in confusion.
"Ruan Ruan, have you spent so much time with my mom that you’ve started thinking like her, in such an incredible, incomprehensible way? Grandpa has always treated Mo Chen and me equally, there’s no comparison. Saying such things, is it fair to the old man?" Rong Sinan stared at Tang Ruan with a heavy gaze.
Tang Ruan clenched her fists, closed her eyes slightly, and two clear tears slid down her cheeks, "I’m sorry. Sinan, I don’t even know what I’m saying, I was just afraid you’d be angry, I don’t want you to ignore me. I’m sorry, Sinan, I, boo hoo..."
As Tang Ruan spoke, she leaned on Rong Sinan’s knee and sobbed softly, her slender shoulders trembling, delicate and pitiable.
Rong Sinan pursed his heroic brows, tightened his lips as he looked at Tang Ruan, resisting the urge to comfort her, and said coldly, "Ruan Ruan, you’ve always been kind and gentle in my heart, poised and gracious, not someone who would destroy another’s image groundlessly. How Momo is, whether she’s truly suitable for Mo Chen, is not for you to meddle in. Mo Chen has his own judgments."
After a pause, Rong Sinan narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone also distant, "Your unusual behavior today, I take it as you being temporarily unable to accept that Mo Chen is about to marry and have a child, feeling troubled. But I do not wish for such things to happen again."
Rong Sinan reached out to grasp Tang Ruan’s stiff arms, making her look up at him, "Ruan Ruan, don’t forget your current identity, you are my wife."
Tang Ruan’s face was full of tears, she was almost unable to speak through her sobs.
Rong Sinan’s cold eyes softened slightly, his large hand cradling the back of her head as he pulled her into his embrace, lightly brushing his lips against her hair, "Ruan Ruan, I can understand, but that doesn’t mean I can always tolerate it, do you understand?"
Tang Ruan closed her eyes tightly, tears rolling down from them, she reached out her arms, holding Rong Sinan’s neck tightly, "Sinan, today it was my fault, I didn’t adjust my mindset properly. Mo Chen and I... are in the past, I’m your wife now, and you’re the one I love in my heart. I promise you, such things will never happen again. Sinan, please forgive me this once, okay?"
Rong Sinan’s eyes squinted suddenly tight, his large hand on the back of her head gripping harder, holding her tighter in his arms, and he said hoarsely, "Mm."
In the blink of an eye, almost half a month passed, Jin Jumo’s belly was already slightly bulging, yet Jin Jiancheng still showed no sign of waking, leaving Jin Jumo’s heart hanging high and unable to settle.
Since last time shopping with Jian Liangtong, Jian Liangtong seemed to have vanished, tried all means of contacting her, yet couldn’t reach her.
If it weren’t through Rong Mochen’s contact with Huo Shaojun, learning that they had been together all along, Jin Jumo would have truly suspected she had suddenly vanished into thin air!
The person she used to hang out with every day had suddenly disappeared, leaving Jin Jumo feeling something was missing these days. Coupled with Jin Jiancheng’s continued unconsciousness, her mood was greatly affected. Normally, after three months of pregnancy, the morning sickness should lessen, but it had only gotten worse for her, puking after eating anything, sometimes feeling so uncomfortable that she couldn’t sleep for whole nights.
Every time he saw her vomiting, Rong Mochen’s brows furrowed, often, while Jin Jumo had restless nights, he didn’t sleep at all.
These days, with her morning sickness exacerbating, Rong Mochen simply moved his work to Jinming Port City.
While he worked, Jin Jumo would sit in his study, reading books or watching American dramas, even going to the hospital, he personally accompanied her.
Sitting at the computer desk in the study, Rong Mochen finished browsing the documents in his hand, closed them with a snap, and his black eyes turned towards Jin Jumo, sitting cross-legged on the sofa, her eyes glued to the laptop screen on the coffee table in front of her.
Her long hair draped down her chest, wearing a pair of white earbuds in her ears, dressed neatly in a white cashmere sweater and tight white pants, even her socks were white.
The entire look, from afar, appeared both endearingly naive and refreshingly elegant.
Rong Mochen raised his brows slightly, stood up from the executive chair, hands in the pockets of his casual trousers, and walked slowly toward Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo’s blank eyes shifted slightly, took a fleeting glance at him, then returned her gaze to the laptop screen, her face looking somewhat upset.
The spot beside her sank slightly, and then, her waist was embraced from behind, her earlobe covered by a gentle warmth.
Jin Jumo’s body shivered violently, her breath turning rough, her long eyelashes fluttering as she turned her head slightly to look at the man in front of her, feeling somewhat unnatural.
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes looked deeply into her, lifting a large hand to remove the earbuds from her ears, tossing them casually onto the sofa behind her, and immediately, her entire ear turned burning hot.
Jin Jumo’s lips parted slightly in a soft moan, her eyes misted over, gently trembling.
Jin Jumo swallowed dryly, the recent lack of appetite had made her small face even slimmer, but her lively eyes seemed larger and brighter, her face reddening as she said with a trembling voice, "Mr. Rong, the child..."
Rong Mochen lightly furrowed his brows, looked down at her belly, his black eyes flickering, then fixed back on Jin Jumo’s face, speaking in a low, hoarse voice, "The dangerous period has passed three months, I consulted with the doctor, it’s fine."
He actually asked...
Jin Jumo couldn’t help but blush for him, whispering, "How can Mr. Rong ask the doctor this?"
"..."Rong Mochen said nothing, just sank his waist slightly.
The sudden closeness of the object to Jin Jumo’s belly made her stare wide-eyed in shock, her face turning from bright red to deep crimson, as she twitched her lips looking at Rong Mochen.
"Since the first day you lived here, I’ve been in this state every day." Rong Mochen’s husky voice said softly, his black eyes were dark red like a branding iron, staring at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo’s neck also followed with a flush of crimson, her dark eyes darting left and right, yet her body was desperately trying to shrink under the velvet blanket, wanting to escape the object rubbing on her belly.
The more she dodged, the closer Rong Mochen approached.
Jin Jumo could clearly feel the contours and the incessant heat coming from there, her heart trembling, "R-Rong, Rong Mr., you’re pressing, pressing on my belly."
Jin Jumo lightly caught her breath, her fair cheeks flushed, speaking softly.
Rong Mochen leaned down, his black eyes carrying a unique allure, staring at her watery eyes, "Then what should I do?"
"..."Jin Jumo froze for a moment, slightly twisting her body to one side.
"Don’t move!" Rong Mochen hoarsely shouted, his voice tense, suppressing a certain restrained pain.
Rong Mochen couldn’t wait for her to answer, his big hand suddenly reached into her shirt hem.
"Knock, knock..."
The sound of knocking suddenly rang out.
Jin Jumo’s dreamy eyes paused, then she began to gently struggle slightly uncooperatively.
Rong Mochen frowned tightly, ignoring everything as he kissed her lips, "Ignore it!"
"Knock, knock..."
The knocking sounded once again, even louder than before.
Jin Jumo couldn’t pretend not to hear it, anxiously reaching her hand to push against Rong Mochen’s pressing chest, "Mr. Rong, someone is knocking at the door."
Jin Jumo stood at the door, lightly took a breath, then reached out to open the door.
"Madam." Yu Huihua appeared awkward, refraining from looking into the bedroom, her eyes only focused on Jin Jumo’s pink face, quickly saying, "This is the appetizing soup I made for you. Your appetite hasn’t been good lately, and you’ve lost so much weight that it’s quite concerning. This appetizing soup is a home remedy from my hometown, very effective."
Jin Jumo then saw the small bowl of soup in Yu Huihua’s hands, its color clear, with a few floating scallions, smelling rather fragrant, "Aunt Yu, thank you for your trouble."
Yu Huihua smiled, handing the soup to Jin Jumo, "Madam, drink it while it’s hot. If you like it, I’ll serve you another bowl."
Jin Jumo lightly nodded, drinking it in front of Yu Huihua; the taste was just as she imagined, refreshing and not greasy, very palatable.
Jin Jumo drank the soup and handed the bowl back to Yu Huihua, "Thank you."
"Madam is always so polite." Yu Huihua smiled, "Want more?"
Jin Jumo gently shook her head, "No more."
Yu Huihua nodded but stood still without leaving.
Jin Jumo raised her eyebrows in confusion, "Aunt Yu, is there anything else?"
"...No, not really, it’s almost noon. I’m just wondering, Madam, if there’s anything specific you want to eat?" Yu Huihua smiled awkwardly, her expression somehow giving a feeling of being guilty.
Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered, she smiled softly, "Aunt Yu, feel free to decide."
Yu Huihua clasped her hands, suddenly raised her eyes to look at Rong Mochen, who was smoking in the room, saying, "Mr. Rong, what about you?"
Rong Mochen glanced coldly at Yu Huihua, saying nothing, looking rather stern.
Yu Huihua’s face stiffened, "Then, I’ll decide."
Jin Jumo smiled and nodded.
Thinking that Yu Huihua would leave now.
Yet she still lingered at the doorway, looking troubled and hesitating to speak.
Seeing this, Jin Jumo frowned and held Yu Huihua’s hand, "Aunt Yu, do you need to tell me something?"
