Chapter 150: Chapter 147: Pursuing the Matter to the End (Part 1)
Jin Jumo opened her eyes, her brow still furrowed, and looked back at Rong Mochen. "Mr. Rong, did I wake you up?"
Rong Mochen didn’t open his eyes, his soft breath falling on her ear, his voice slightly hoarse, "Can’t sleep?"
Jin Jumo rubbed her chest and shook her head, "I should be able to sleep in a while."
Rong Mochen opened his eyes slowly upon hearing her words, looking at her slightly troubled little face, his lips gently pursed, "Are you uncomfortable?"
As he spoke, his palm gently caressed her rounded belly.
Jin Jumo closed her eyes, forcing herself to sleep, yet her heart felt like it hid a terrifying beast hitting her from all sides. She wanted to drive it away, but felt powerless.
Very restless, but above all anxious and ominous.
Not hearing Jin Jumo speak, Rong Mochen paused, his arm exerted gentle force, turning her to lie flat, his warm fingertips rubbing at her tightly furrowed brow, "What’s the matter?"
Jin Jumo took a deep breath, her clear eyes looking at him with anxiety, suddenly saying, "Mr. Rong, I want to go to the hospital."
"..." Rong Mochen stared at her.
Jin Jumo reached out and grabbed the corner of his robe tightly. "I want to go to the hospital."
Rong Mochen glanced at the clock on the wall, it was already one in the morning.
Turning back, he looked softly at her pleading small face, speaking quietly, "It’s very late today, we’ll go tomorrow, hmm?"
Jin Jumo shook her head, her voice now urgent, "I can’t sleep. I want to go to the hospital."
Jin Jumo repeated this sentence.
Rong Mochen felt the person in front of him trembling gently, his dark eyes narrowed, his large hand holding her anxious and eager face, "Little Mo, look at me."
Jin Jumo held the robe with her fingers turning white, her dark eyes lightly trembling as she looked at him.
Rong Mochen deeply watched her for a few seconds, then lowered his head, kissed her brow, "I’ll take you."
When the two went out, they were both wearing long down jackets, from head to ankle-length, not matching outfits, but surprisingly similar at the moment.
Sitting in the car, Jin Jumo locked herself in her down jacket, her hands pinching at the down jacket on her knees, appearing somewhat lost.
Just then, a phone rang unexpectedly from her jacket pocket.
Jin Jumo jolted slightly, the strong unease in her heart growing stronger.
Liang Tong wouldn’t call her at this hour, and she didn’t have other close friends who would call now, so this call was likely from the hospital.
"Not answering?" Rong Mochen looked at her silently.
Jin Jumo lowered her eyes and took out the phone from her pocket, her eyes shrinking sharply when falling on the phone screen, then answered.
"Miss Jin, Mr. Jin is not in good condition now, please hurry to the hospital."
"..." Jin Jumo felt the world spin in her head, her eyes quickly filled with crimson, her lips slightly parted, unable to say a word.
Seeing this, Rong Mochen pulled the car to the roadside, one hand holding Jin Jumo’s cold hand, the other taking the phone tightly pressed to her ear, answering.
"Hello, Miss Jin, Miss Jin, are you listening?"
"What’s the situation?" Rong Mochen’s voice was low and commanding without anger.
"..." The voice on the phone paused, then hurriedly said, "Please inform the patient’s family immediately, the patient is in critical condition, experiencing a stroke, currently undergoing emergency rescue."
Rong Mochen’s brows tightened abruptly, looking at Jin Jumo’s pale face, his voice remained calm, "We are already on our way to the hospital."
Hanging up the call, Rong Mochen tightened his grip on Jin Jumo’s hand, staring at her for a long while before continuing to drive to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Jin Jumo remained unable to speak, her eyes dry but crimson as cow’s blood, evoking a sense of pity from onlookers.
"Patients who’ve undergone heart transplant surgeries sometimes experience sequelae such as strokes. But Mr. Jin has been awake for so long, theoretically ruling out this possibility. Yet unexpectedly, Mr. Jin had a sudden episode tonight, with the stroke’s severity progressing severely."
The doctor analyzed with Jin Jumo and Rong Mochen, "Before Mr. Jin fell into a coma, he showed stiffness in his limbs and inability to speak, his condition was terrible."
"Sudden episode?" Rong Mochen furrowed his brow, coldly staring at the doctor, "Are you sure it was sudden and not caused by other reasons?"
"This..." The doctor hesitated, looking uncertain.
"Before Mr. Jin’s stroke incident, did anyone else come to see him?" Rong Mochen asked strictly.
The doctor appeared unnatural, "I... I’m not really sure, I should go ask the duty room."
"No need." Rong Mochen spoke coldly, "Immediately pull the surveillance footage."
"Alright, alright." Seeing Rong Mochen’s stern demeanor, the doctor hurriedly complied.
The surveillance room delivered the footage, Jin Jumo stared blankly at the computer screen as if devoid of soul.
The computer screen showed the time as 12:40 AM, and a woman dressed in a royal blue coat holding an expensive handbag appeared on the screen.
Jin Jumo’s gaze shifted and fell on the woman’s face, her fingertips slowly curling into her palm.
Rong Mochen saw the woman’s face, a sharp look flashed in his dark eyes as he looked at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo’s lips curled into a cold smile, she slightly raised her chin, and looked at Rong Mochen with a gaze colder than ever, though her tone was unwavering, as if merely stating a fact, "Ms. Fang really went to lengths to prevent me from marrying into the Rong Family."
The woman appearing on the computer screen was none other than Fang Jingyi!
Rong Mochen’s thin lips pressed tightly together, "Little Mo..."
"Mr. Rong." Jin Jumo’s voice was so hoarse that it was almost inaudible, as moisture slowly welled in her bloodshot eyes, "Thank you for bringing me here tonight. But now, could you please leave first?"
Jin Jumo was holding back, her neck exposed from the collar of her down jacket was flushed, and veins were bulging.
Rong Mochen stared at her, "At this moment, I can’t leave."
When Jin Jiancheng came out of the emergency room, it was already 6:30 AM.
Jin Jumo had been waiting on the bench outside the emergency room all night, and the redness in her eyes not only did not dissipate but intensified.
As soon as she saw Jin Jiancheng being wheeled out by the nurse, she immediately stood up from the chair, but having maintained the same posture for too long, she stood up too quickly, her mind spinning, causing her to stumble back a few steps.
Fortunately, Rong Mochen was there to catch her.
Jin Jumo’s face was pallid as she briefly closed her eyes to adjust, then she opened them and broke free from Rong Mochen, rushing over to Jin Jiancheng.
Jin Jiancheng was still unconscious, his face darkened as if he had aged significantly.
As Jin Jumo saw Jin Jiancheng, tears she had held back all night finally streamed out, she clutched Jin Jiancheng’s withered hand, its faint warmth reminding her he hadn’t left her.
Jin Jumo slowly squatted beside Jin Jiancheng, resting her forehead against the back of his hand, tears fell silently, each drop like a dagger piercing Rong Mochen’s heart.
Jin Jiancheng was taken back to his original ward, Jin Jumo hurriedly looking at the attending physician, asking, "When will my grandfather wake up?"
The attending physician was exhausted after a surgery lasting more than five hours, "It’s hard to say, he might wake up soon, or sleep for one or two days."
At this moment, Jin Jumo had only one wish, as long as he wakes up, it doesn’t matter when.
"But." The attending physician frowned with concern as he looked at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo’s heart rose again, "But what?"
"Mr. Jin’s sudden cerebral infarction caused stiffness in his limbs, after waking, he won’t be able to move, and won’t be able to speak," the attending physician said.
"..." Jin Jumo’s lips turned pale, a rigid smile tugged her lips, her peach blossom eyes filled with deep confusion and helplessness, "Is, is there any treatment for cerebral infarction?"
"He will need slow rehabilitation, Miss Jin might try massaging Mr. Jin’s limbs every day to help him regain mobility," the attending physician mused after some thought.
"Okay, I will." Jin Jumo nodded.
It’s not too bad; as long as she is diligent, her grandfather will return to normal.
After the attending physician left, Jin Jumo seemed possessed, continually giving Jin Jiancheng limb massages, her expression unusually focused, yet ironically highlighting her abnormalcy.
Rong Mochen kept his gaze on Jin Jumo, not stopping her, nor moving his eyes away from her.
He hadn’t seen Jin Jumo like this.
The Jin Jumo he knew was more mature than her peers, always knowing how to mask her true emotions, she appeared docile, yet inside she was stubborn, with pride in her bones.
In front of him, she never cried, her smiles remained on her face but were absent from her eyes.
When angry, she could quickly laugh, as if carefree.
But in front of Jin Jiancheng, Jin Jumo cried, laughed, felt happiness, her emotions were tethered to Jin Jiancheng, everything about him influenced her.
She valued Jin Jiancheng far more than herself.
Rong Mochen slightly furrowed his brows, watching Jin Jumo busily massage Jin Jiancheng, suddenly terrified to imagine, if Jin Jiancheng hadn’t been saved last night, what would have happened to her...
"It’s not good, Ju Mo, you should leave through the hospital’s back entrance with Mr. Rong, a large group of reporters is coming, some even carrying cameras." Xiao Yao dashed in like an arrow, speaking in one breath without pausing for air.
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes shadowed, his lips pressed tightly as he looked at Jin Jumo.
At some point, Jin Jumo had stopped massaging Jin Jiancheng, now looking at Rong Mochen, her eyes complex.
The reporters were numerous and intimidating, Jin Jiancheng happened to be in the VIP section of the hospital, the hospital staff worried these reporters would disturb patients, had security block them from entering the VIP floor.
The reporters had pursued this opportunity relentlessly, finally catching a chance to expose the true face of the Rong Family’s future CEO’s wife, they couldn’t be thwarted by mere hospital obstacles, they were only blocked outside.
The reporters exerted every effort, attempting to breach security and break in, some finding that forcibly entering wouldn’t work, began trying new tactics.
