Chapter 166 - 163: Boss Rong, I Saw a Ghost!

Chapter 166: Chapter 163: Boss Rong, I Saw a Ghost!

"My name is Ye Yihan." Ye Yihan raised his chin, his dark, bright eyes slightly squinting, and said.

Gu Yan’s expression twitched, and he laughed, "Hanhan, are you a boy or a girl?"

Ye Yihan frowned, pulling down the corners of his eyes, and stared coldly at Gu Yan, saying in a ghostly voice, "This is the men’s restroom."

Gu Yan closed his mouth, coughed dryly, "Cough cough, um, Hanhan, you just said you wanted to wash your hands, right? Come, let me help you."

As Gu Yan spoke, he reached out to pick up Ye Yihan.

Just as he reached out, Ye Yihan’s chubby body took a step back, staring at his hand with a look of disdain.

Gu Yan’s chubby face twitched twice, "Oh, I didn’t wash my hands."

Ye Yihan raised an eyebrow, glancing at the sinks.

Gu Yan pressed his lower lip, went to wash his hands on his own initiative, shook them dry, then turned to pick up Ye Yihan.

After Ye Yihan washed his hands, Gu Yan took him to dry them, the movements were so natural and instinctive, as if he was doing everything he should.

"Alright, that’ll do." Ye Yihan withdrew his small hands from the dryer, looking at Gu Yan.

"Oh." Gu Yan nodded and put Ye Yihan down.

Ye Yihan raised his little head to look at him, turned and walked towards the restroom door. After taking two steps, he suddenly crouched down, half-turned his chubby body, squinting at Gu Yan, pursed his little lips, and said, "Thank you."

Gu Yan was stunned, noting the familiar look in his eyes. Wasn’t that the look Boss Rong gave him on cold days?

Gu Yan awkwardly touched his chin, feeling it was absurd and freaky to see traces of Rong Mochen in a child who seemed just three or four years old!

Shaking his head, when Gu Yan looked again, Ye Yihan was already gone.

Exiting the restroom, Gu Yan saw a slender woman holding Ye Yihan walking into a private room.

Gu Yan didn’t think much, turning to walk down the corridor to another private room.

"Uncle."

Suddenly, a tender child’s voice called from behind.

Gu Yan paused, instinctively turned back to look.

Just in time to see Ye Yihan waving his little chubby arm from afar, "Thank you."

Gu Yan was a bit dumbfounded, this attitude was so enthusiastic compared to in the restroom, it seemed like a different person!

And just then, the woman holding Ye Yihan tilted her head to glance at Gu Yan.

Gu Yan was really curious about what kind of parents could have such an insightful and charming child like Ye Yihan, so he took a special look when the woman turned her head.

With just one glance, the woman turned away, carrying Ye Yihan into the private room, but Gu Yan felt like he had been struck by lightning, his baby face filled with shock.

The Wanhui Building’s supreme VIP room specially reserved for receiving distinguished guests.

The private room had over twenty men and women sitting, but among these people, including Wan Liwei, the chairman of Wan Hui Group, no one spoke. All sat upright, like in a tripartite meeting, everyone tense, glancing at the man sitting at the head with a calm demeanor.

The man’s posture was slightly slanted, leaning on the chair, one hand casually laid on his leg, the other holding a glass of red wine on the table, not drinking, just occasionally swirling the liquid inside gently.

He was wearing silver-rimmed glasses, with slightly drooping eyes silently cooling on the glass of red wine. Every line of that unparalleled captivating face was deeply etched with a cold and firm look.

He didn’t speak, not even releasing any deliberate air of authority, yet still making everyone feel pressured and tense.

The room’s door was suddenly pushed open from outside.

Wan Liwei looked over, seeing it was Gu Yan; he obviously breathed a sigh of relief, quickly stood up from his seat, enthusiastically saying, "Assistant Gu, you’re back! Please, sit, sit."

Gu Yan’s baby face was as white as a sheet, looking somewhat dazed, without any reaction to Wan Liwei’s words, he walked directly to the seat beside Rong Mochen.

By then, everyone noticed Gu Yan’s abnormal state.

Wan Liwei’s mouth twitched as he slowly sat down, suspiciously looking at Gu Yan, wanting to ask but unsure how to appropriately do so.

Rong Mochen tapped the rim of his glass with his long fingers, withdrew it, his dark eyes gently lifted, looking towards Gu Yan.

Gu Yan swallowed, suddenly reached for the glass of red wine on the table in front of him, and downed it in one gulp, a drop of wine slid down his mouth, he wiped it with his hand, then picked up the decanter next to it and filled his glass to the brim with red wine, just about to down it again when his wrist holding the glass was suddenly gripped by a hand as strong as iron.

Gu Yan glanced at that hand, tensed his lips, tried to wrench his wrist free from its grip, but after a couple of attempts couldn’t break free, Gu Yan’s eyes contracted, suppressing his breath, he looked at the owner of the hand.

Rong Mochen’s expression was composed, his dark eyes beneath the silver-rimmed glasses like midnight stars, deeply cold and piercing, daring not to look directly, his thin lips faintly parted, "Seen a ghost?"

Gu Yan’s eyes trembled, deeply staring at Rong Mochen, his throat was hoarse, "Maybe I really have seen a ghost."

Rong Mochen’s eyes beneath his glasses half-squinted, silently staring at him.

Gu Yan swallowed, "Boss Rong, do you believe in ghosts in this world?"

Rong Mochen’s expression didn’t change, he reached for the glass of red wine, sipping a bit, "The ghost you’ve seen must be quite beautiful."

"Yes." Gu Yan nodded, "Very beautiful."

"Pfft..."

Upon hearing Gu Yan’s words, the women present curled their lips, and some even burst into laughter.

"Haha, Assistant Gu has had a romantic encounter."

Wan Liwei wanted to use this to lighten the atmosphere. He raised his glass to everyone at the table and said, "We must congratulate Assistant Gu. Come, let’s all toast to Assistant Gu."

Gu Yan glanced at everyone, frowned, and finally understood what the "ghost" in Rong Mochen’s words meant.

With pursed lips, Gu Yan raised his glass symbolically towards everyone, took a casual sip, and then put it down.

With both hands resting on the table, Gu Yan’s face was somber. He didn’t seem to acknowledge or respond to Wan Liwei’s attempts to steer the conversation.

Wan Liwei said a few more words but got no response from Gu Yan, feeling both awkward and embarrassed, he took a sip of his red wine to cover it up.

"I just saw Little Mo Mo."

Suddenly, Gu Yan muttered.

Without looking at Rong Mochen, he kept his head down, as if talking to himself.

"..." Rong Mochen’s long fingers tightened around the wine glass suddenly, his dark eyes narrowing as he stared at Gu Yan.

The others, seeing Rong Mochen’s reaction, were all stunned, looking at Gu Yan with curiosity or doubt.

Gu Yan didn’t speak for a while, his lips were a bit pale, and his expression showed heaviness and hesitation.

"...Who is Little Mo Mo?" Wan Liwei cautiously glanced at Rong Mochen and asked.

Gu Yan’s brows sunk as he glanced coldly at Wan Liwei. Little Mo Mo is something you can call!

Wan Liwei’s expression changed slightly, barely bearing the suddenly sharp look from Gu Yan.

He couldn’t believe that the usually well-spoken assistant rumored to be closest to Rong Mochen could become just as gloomy as Rong Mochen.

Wan Liwei sighed inwardly. After all, he belongs to Rong Mochen. How could he truly be mild-tempered and kind, it’s just a good disguise!

Suddenly, everyone saw Rong Mochen’s lips curl coldly as he removed his silver-framed glasses, revealing those calm and deep dark eyes fully focused on Gu Yan, his voice still cool, "Which Little Mo Mo?"

"Damn, which other Little Mo Mo — Jin Jumo!" Gu Yan somehow became agitated, turning his head anxiously to shout at Rong Mochen.

Rong Mochen’s icy face suddenly gathered a storm, his dark face thunderous, his thin lips tensed into a cold straight line, his dark eyes already stormy, and suddenly, he kicked at the chair Gu Yan was sitting on.

Bam—

Gu Yan, along with the chair, was kicked far away.

The people were stunned, faces full of horror, wide-eyed and bewildered, looking at Rong Mochen.

Rong Mochen’s gaze was cold and deadly, like an Asura rising, each step he took outward brought a chilling wind.

Wan Liwei stood up in fear and trepidation, wanting to follow but not daring to pursue.

Gu Yan was still sitting on the chair, not blaming Rong Mochen for the kick, especially since it didn’t land on him.

But seeing Rong Mochen leave, he felt very uncomfortable inside.

All these years, no one dared to mention that name in front of him; mentioning it today was taboo.

Clenching his fists, Gu Yan stood up from the chair, saying to Wan Liwei, "Director Wan, I thank you for your gracious hospitality on behalf of President Rong."

"Oh, it’s, it’s only right..." Wan Liwei stiffly tugged at the corners of his mouth.

Gu Yan nodded to the others and walked quickly towards the door.

As Rong Mochen and Gu Yan walked out, the remaining people in the room looked at each other, finally all anxiously turning to Wan Liwei.

Wan Liwei tugged at his tie and slumped into his chair, feeling like tonight’s event had taken several years off his life!

He finally somewhat understood the mindset of those employees who usually avoided him when they saw him!

Gu Yan rushed out of the room and saw that imposing figure of Leng Qin standing on the corridor side of the room. With a complex look in his eyes, he walked over and said in a low voice, "Boss Rong, I was not joking, I would never joke about that..."

Rong Mochen glanced at him, his slightly furrowed brows making him look a bit vexed, his voice hoarse, "Did you bring cigarettes?"

Gu Yan was taken aback for a moment, silently taking out a cigarette and a lighter from his pants pocket and handing them to Rong Mochen.

Watching him pull out a cigarette and light it, Gu Yan hesitated and said, "Boss Rong, I really just..."

"Where?" Rong Mochen exhaled a puff of smoke and said.

Gu Yan raised his head, pointing to a room not far ahead, "She entered that room."

As soon as Gu Yan finished speaking, the man in front of him strode towards that room.

His steps were less steady and deliberate than usual, more like the swift pace of a racehorse.

Seeing this, Gu Yan’s heart suddenly sank again, worried that he had mistaken someone, he hurried to catch up with Rong Mochen’s quickening pace, "Boss Rong, I might have been wrong, that woman was holding a three or four-year-old boy, and it was far away..."

Before he could finish, Rong Mochen suddenly quickened his pace, leaving him well behind in an instant.
