Chapter 159: Chapter 156: As Long as I Can Make Mr. Rong Happy, I’ll Do Anything 2
Several people sat on the sofa as Yu Huihua served fruits and drinks, then retreated without disturbing them.
"By the way, Little Yan, aren’t you going back to the UK for the New Year this year?" Jin Jumo looked at Mu Yan.
"Sister Jin, you forgot. Their Christmas is equivalent to our New Year. Besides, my daddy and mommy are coming back to celebrate the New Year with me at home this year." Mu Yan said, sipping from a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice with her small hands.
Jin Jumo nodded, looking at Jian Liangtong, and only then noticed she hadn’t taken off her coat after entering the room. Thinking she had forgotten, she raised an eyebrow to remind her, "With the heater turned up so high, aren’t you hot wearing that?"
Jian Liangtong paused as she put a grape in her mouth and shrugged, "Not hot."
"Not hot? But I feel hot just wearing this." Mu Yan said, taking off her coat to reveal a red velvet dress underneath, looking at Jian Liangtong strangely.
Jian Liangtong lowered her eyelashes, "I’m only wearing an undershirt underneath, so it’s hard to take off."
"Oh." Mu Yan didn’t think too much of it.
Jin Jumo narrowed her eyes slightly, thoughtfully staring at Jian Liangtong.
"I’m going to the bathroom." Unable to withstand Jin Jumo’s gaze, Jian Liangtong suddenly stood up from the sofa and walked towards the bathroom, her pace slightly quickened.
Seeing this, Jin Jumo’s eyes shifted, and she suddenly smirked.
"Sister Jin, what are you smiling at?" Mu Yan asked, surprised, looking at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo fed her a grape with a smile, "Nothing."
"..."
"I’m going to the bathroom too." Jin Jumo said.
"..." Mu Yan stared blankly as Jin Jumo headed to the bathroom, her fair little face full of bewilderment.
Jian Liangtong had just come out of the stall when she saw Jin Jumo silently standing by the sink, looking at her with an ambiguous smile.
Jian Liangtong’s ears turned red, and she smiled awkwardly as she walked toward the sink, saying, "Do you need to use the toilet too?"
Jin Jumo helped her turn on the faucet, and Jian Liangtong sheepishly reached out her hands. It was at that moment she heard Jin Jumo’s chilly voice, "Still planning to hide it from me?"
Jian Liangtong’s hand shook, quickly turning off the faucet, looking at Jin Jumo in panic.
Jin Jumo raised her eyebrows, "You’re expecting?"
"..." Jian Liangtong’s eyes widened, and after a while, she gave a dry laugh, "What’s expecting or not... I don’t even know what you’re talking about..."
Halfway through speaking, Jian Liangtong’s little face fell, suddenly hugging Jin Jumo, and said miserably, "How can I hide anything from you?"
Jin Jumo looked down at Jian Liangtong, both amused and annoyed, "What’s wrong with you, why hide it from me?"
Jian Liangtong shamelessly smiled, wrapping Jin Jumo’s arm with her hands, "Actually, I didn’t really want to hide it from you. It’s just that I haven’t processed it fully myself and don’t know how to say it."
Jin Jumo looked at her eyes suppressing joy and tugged lightly at her lips, "Does Huo Shaojun know?"
"He doesn’t..."
"Madam, a call for you." Before Jian Liangtong could finish, Yu Huihua’s voice came from outside the bathroom.
Jin Jumo looked puzzled, furrowing her brows as it was the first time someone had called Jinming Port City’s landline for her...
Without continuing the previous topic, Jin Jumo held Jian Liangtong’s hand and walked out together.
Taking the vintage phone from Yu Huihua’s hand, Jin Jumo sat on the sofa next to the phone, gesturing for Jian Liangtong to sit down, then spoke into the phone, "Who is this?"
Jian Liangtong sat puzzled on the sofa with Mu Yan, watching as Jin Jumo frowned after picking up the phone. She exchanged a glance with Mu Yan, and the two of them got up and walked over to Jin Jumo, one on each side, both leaning in to listen.
Jin Jumo glanced at the two of them, her tone indifferent, "Does Miss Fu need something?"
The caller was none other than Rong Mochen’s special assistant, Fu Mulan.
"Miss Jin, I have something I want to discuss with you. I’m not sure if you have time now, but could you possibly meet me?" Fu Mulan’s voice was low, hoarse, lacking in energy, as if she were ill.
Jin Jumo lowered her eyes slightly, "Miss Fu, whatever you have to say, just say it over the phone."
"I can’t explain it clearly over the phone," Fu Mulan’s hesitant voice came through.
Jin Jumo’s eyes flashed with surprise, this wasn’t like her at all.
Fu Mulan had always given her the impression of being cold as ice, the typical career woman and strong woman, capable of handling anything on her own and without dragging things out.
"I’m sorry, Miss Fu, I have friends over today, so it’s really inconvenient for me to go out."
Jin Jumo leaned back, her back pressing against the soft, resilient sofa, rubbing her belly as she spoke quietly.
"Miss Jin, I really have something important to tell you. It took me a long time to make this decision.
If I don’t say it today, I don’t know if I’ll have the courage to say it in the future." Fu Mulan’s voice was uncertain and agitated, even with a slight sob.
Jin Jumo narrowed her eyes slightly, saying nothing.
"Miss Jin, it’s about your grandfather."
"Ju Zi, what does she mean by this? Is there something else about Grandpa Jin?" Jian Liangtong furrowed her brows, looking at Jin Jumo’s pale face after hanging up the call.
Jin Jumo’s long eyelashes fluttered, and she suddenly stood up from the sofa, saying to Yu Huihua, "Aunt Yu, ask Uncle Zhang to prepare the car, I need to go out."
"Madam," Yu Huihua wanted to say something, but Jin Jumo didn’t give her the chance and hurriedly headed towards the door.
Yu Huihua’s heart sank, and she quickly called the driver.
After hanging up, Yu Huihua was really worried about the anxious Jin Jumo, so she immediately called Rong Mochen, but the phone was turned off.
In the car, Jin Jumo, Jian Liangtong, and Mu Yan sat together in the back seat.
Jian Liangtong held Jin Jumo’s cold hand, feeling complicated emotions.
If there was more mystery behind Grandpa Jin’s death, then the disputes and intrigues within this wealthy family were truly terrifying!
Mu Yan’s face also showed panic and horror. Having been pampered and grown up with love since childhood, she was shown a beautiful world. Even if she was bullied at school, she never felt it was that serious. Being new to this environment and unable to integrate or find acceptance was partly due to mutual unfamiliarity, and perhaps also because of her own personality.
In her little world, plotting to end a person’s life only existed in television shows!
Uncle Zhang escorted the three of them to the meeting place with Fu Mulan and waited for them in the parking area.
Fu Mulan had chosen a café on the pedestrian street. In the morning, there were not many people.
Upon entering, Jin Jumo told Jian Liangtong and Mu Yan to wait at another table while she went to where Fu Mulan was seated.
The tables weren’t far apart and were within sight.
Fu Mulan, slightly apprehensive and fearful, stood up as she saw Jin Jumo walking towards her.
Jin Jumo looked at Fu Mulan, who wore a mask and sunglasses, dressed in casual sportswear and a loose long down jacket, her hair falling loosely over her shoulders on both sides, lacking the sharpness of a career woman, appearing more gentle and fragile.
"Miss Jin, you’re here." Fu Mulan looked at Jin Jumo with trepidation.
Jin Jumo sat across from her, her dark eyes fixed on her, "I haven’t seen you in a few months, Miss Fu, you’ve lost a lot of weight."
Fu Mulan slowly sat down, raised her hand, and removed her sunglasses and mask, putting them on the table, looking up at Jin Jumo.
Fu Mulan was without makeup, her face bare, her eyes somewhat lifeless, with dark circles beneath her eyes and heavy eye bags.
Moreover, her face seemed to have been carved on both sides of her cheeks, and her chin was so sharp it could stab someone.
Jin Jumo squinted, "Have you not been resting well, Miss Fu?"
Fu Mulan touched her face, "There’s something that’s been weighing on my heart. I can’t sleep well, eat well. I keep making mistakes at work, so President Rong told me to go home and rest for a while before returning."
Jin Jumo remained unfazed, calling over the waiter, "One hot orange juice for me. What about you, Miss Fu?"
Fu Mulan lightly shook her head, "I can’t drink anything."
"Then bring a cup of warm water for Miss Fu," Jin Jumo said lightly, gazing at Fu Mulan.
After the waiter left.
Jin Jumo slowly asked, "What is so serious about it?"
A flash of panic appeared on Fu Mulan’s face, her hands on the table trembling.
Jin Jumo glanced at her hands, moving her lips slightly, "Is everything alright, Miss Fu?"
"I, I am guilty."
Fu Mulan suddenly raised her head, her eyes instantly blood red, staring at Jin Jumo with a trembling gaze, her upper body leaning towards Jin Jumo, her throat quivering.
Jin Jumo slightly clenched the hand on her leg, her tone unchanged, "What is it that makes you guilty, Miss Fu?"
"Miss Jin, you have to forgive me, you must forgive me. I didn’t know, I didn’t expect things to turn out like this. I never thought it would result in your grandfather’s death. I really didn’t know it would lead to a life. I’m so remorseful, I’m so remorseful!"
Fu Mulan said at last, her emotions collapsing as she held her head, tears ceaselessly flowing.
Jin Jumo’s face froze, her fingertips digging hard into her palm, her lips turning pale, "What did you do?"
"Night after night, I can’t sleep. As soon as I close my eyes, someone comes to strangle me, demanding my life. I’m scared, I’m so scared," Fu Mulan revealed deep fear in her eyes, frantically covering her face.
Jin Jumo opened her mouth slightly, wanting to speak, but it was as if someone was choking her throat, her eyes widening, unable to say a word for a long time.
"I really didn’t know, I really didn’t know it would be this serious, I don’t know what to do, what should I do."
BANG—
"What did you actually do?"
Fu Mulan seemed frightened by Jin Jumo, her face pale, eyes wide in fear as she looked at Jin Jumo.
The few customers in the store also turned their heads to look at her.
If it weren’t for Jian Liangtong holding Mu Yan’s hand tightly, Mu Yan would have rushed over.
Jin Jumo opened her lips, then closed them slowly, every joint trembling, staring at Fu Mulan, "Explain clearly, tell me clearly!"
Fu Mulan’s eyelashes trembled violently, tears continuously falling, her voice choked, "Originally, the President suddenly announced that he would marry you before the end of the year. I’ve secretly admired the President for many years, hearing this news made me sad and severely impacted. I hated you, and deeply envied you. I, I didn’t intend to do anything, because I knew, a decision made by the President couldn’t be changed by anyone. But, but Miss Tang Ruan suddenly came to me."
