Chapter 276: Undercurrent.
Inside a private chamber for the ancient forces.
All the ancient forces’ leaders listened to the event from the alchemy grand competition with their faces contorted in shock.
"Are you sure they are three Peak Grade pills?" The sect master of the Silver Wei Sect couldn’t help but ask once again.
The importance of Peak Grade pills was known to everyone inside the private chamber. Only a handful of master alchemists could refine Peak Grade pills in the central region.
Only those from the Silent Pill Sect had a higher chance of refining peak-grade pills almost every time. Yet, the number would be three at a time.
Apart from three Peak Grade pills, the remaining were high-grade pills.
How was that even possible?
Didn’t some of the herbs turn into dregs?
The Qiu clan master screamed inwardly. "Hahaha. My clan has found a rare gem."
The higher the fame of the Dust Valley Sect, the happier he would become. Since they had become allies and also in-laws.
Their futures had already been tied together.
The usually quiet Yun clan master couldn’t help but ask, "Did they destroy the chief dantian?"
"No, they forgave him and requested him to pay one hundred thousand middle-grade spirit stones," the attendant replied respectfully.
The Yun clan master nodded, and he was pleased inwardly. If the Dust Valley Sect had gone ahead and shattered the Chief Judge’s spirit, this would have been a catastrophe.
This was not the Chief Judge merely losing face, but the Yun clan, which was the host of the Assembly Summit, also losing face.
But now, it seemed the Dust Valley Sect also realized this.
Suddenly, the Wu clan master asked, "What is the reaction of the Silent Pill Sect Master?"
"No one knows. She did not wait for the competition to end before she left."
"Do you need to ask?" the Zhou clan master said, shaking his head. "This is a great blow to the Silent Pill Sect." His expression turned ugly.
The Silent Pill Sect might look like a single sect, but there are many forces inside it. And among them is the ancient Zhou clan.
Not only the Zhou clan, the Liu clan, the Qiu clan, and the Wu clan were part of the force controlling the Silent Pill Sect from behind.
For a moment, the private chamber was quiet. Everyone was considering the situation of the Silent Pill Sect.
"I heard they are going to the Artifact Refining final competition," the Vermilion Fist Sect master said. "Are they going to repeat the same thing?"
No one asked, but everyone knew the answer in their heart.
"This is unacceptable," the Liu clan master said with an ugly expression. "If this continues, they are going to control all the major occupations, and this is bad."
Everyone listened to the Liu clan master and sneered. They had all heard the strange rumor about the Liu clan losing face.
They thought they could keep the secret from spreading, but they were mistaken. How could ancient forces not have spies in each of the clans?
They might unite on the surface, but they were competitors.
"So, are you saying we should stop them because those from the central region or other regions are useless?" the Qiu clan master shot back.
Looking at the Qiu clan standing for the Dust Valley Sect.
Everyone exchanged knowing glances. Of course, they all understood the hidden game.
The Liu clan master sneered. He could never understand how his rebellious daughter’s son knew the young miss of the Qiu clan.
Now, there were even rumors they were betrothed.
He was furious and jealous.
Without caring about his face, "Don’t think we don’t know what you’re trying to do."
"So what? Do you think I care if you know or not?"
Watching the firm stance of the Qiu clan, everyone knew the rumor was likely true.
Instead of dwelling on their childish quibble, everyone was thinking how the Qiu clan managed to pull the rising Dust Valley Sect into their boat.
They had all sent their men to the Dust Valley Sect for goodwill but never received a response from them.
Thinking of this made the Wu clan master furious. "Patriarch Liu is right. We can’t allow a single force to control such a powerful force."
"Why not?" The Qiu clan was not intimidated by the Wu clan joining the fray. "The Zhou clan had controlled Spirit Food for many centuries, yet I never heard you crying about such injustice."
"Patriarch Qiu, you don’t involve my clan." The Zhou clan said with a dark expression.
"Why? Did I lie?" He sneered. "I heard your clan restaurant is empty almost every day. I can’t feel your pain."
The sarcasm cut deep into the Zhou Patriarch. He rose to his feet and pointed his finger at him.
"Do you want to be an enemy of my Zhou clan?" He threatened.
"Why not? Do you think I’m scared?" He smirked. "Don’t compare me to those small clans you made disappear. Try my Qiu clan and you’ll learn your lesson."
Hiss!
Everyone inside the chamber was stunned. This confidence was something not expected.
Looking at the Qiu Patriarch, they saw he was not bluffing.
"Let’s calm down, everyone. This is an important day. Let’s not ruin it." Huang Matirach tried to diffuse the situation but failed.
"Calm down my ass!" Zhou Patriarch snapped. "He made fun of my Zhou clan; it seems my Zhou clan has been quiet this past decade."
"Stand up; let me teach you a lesson." He shouted, and an aura of Peak Golden Core leaked from his body.
"Idiot! As childish as always." The Qiu clan master did not miss the chance to ridicule him again.
Everyone rolled their eyes at the shameless action of the Qiu clan master.
Why don’t you stand up if you’re that confident?
Everyone knew him for his thick skin and shamelessness, but this was on another level.
The Zhou clan master was boiling with fury. He had just been called an idiot in the face of everyone.
Just as he prepared to unleash his rage, a calm voice commanded, "Enough!"
The Zhou clan master wanted to retort but when he noticed the voice belonged to the Yun clan master, instantly the word stuck in his throat.
