Chapter 373: Chapter 371 Whose Child Is It Anyway?

Jian Xi, as if possessed, stopped herself from starting the car.

From the Bugatti, Si Yuhuan emerged and gentlemanly opened the car door for Xinxin.

Xinxin’s eyes, full of seductive allure, practically devoured Si Yuhuan, her gaze provocatively teasing him non-stop.

Si Yuhuan completely ignored her.

Impatient, Xinxin simply pressed her finger against his chest. "Director Si, why not come up for a bit?"

Si Yuhuan’s lips curled into a smile that left her head spinning.

How could any man be so devastatingly handsome and charismatic?

Si Yuhuan’s handsomeness was utterly overpowering; all the men she had encountered before turned to dust in an instant.

Xinxin was practically delirious. "Just for a little while, how about it? I had a bit too much to drink and still have a headache! If you could come up and chat, I’d definitely feel better."

Si Yuhuan caught her restless hand. "Huang Ying is still at your place, isn’t she? How could I come up?"

His words were like a bucket of cold water poured over her head.

Xinxin bit her lip in disappointment. "She is a bit of an inconvenience. Tomorrow, first thing in the morning, I’ll send her to my adoptive father!"

"I’m afraid your adoptive father will make all sorts of excuses to delay his return."

"No, he’ll definitely come back. Even if he refuses, I have my ways."

Huang Ying must leave. Only then will I have a chance with Si Yuhuan...

At that thought, she made up her mind.

"Director Si, rest assured. I’ll make sure to do what I promised you."

From too far away, Jian Xi couldn’t hear what the two were saying. However, judging by their actions, Xinxin was clearly being strung along by Si Yuhuan, looking as if she wanted to devour him whole, her face etched with unfulfilled desire.

Si Yuhuan must have said something, because Xinxin finally left, though she kept looking back, clearly reluctant to part.

What a show.

Her phone emitted a BEEP-BEEP, signaling a new message.

Huang Ying was asking if she had gotten home safely.

Jian Xi hesitated, wondering what to reply...

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Someone was knocking on her car window.

Jian Xi looked up in alarm to see Si Yuhuan’s tall, handsome figure standing right beside her.

She lowered the car window. "What a coincidence, Director Si."

She greeted him with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

Si Yuhuan slid directly into Jian Xi’s car.

Before Jian Xi could even utter a word of refusal, the man had settled into the passenger seat and ordered, "Home."

He wants to go back to Fuyuan Official Residence with me?

"Binhai Villa," he clarified.

His eyes burned with an intensity that sent a shiver down Jian Xi’s spine with just a single glance.

"You watched that whole show. Don’t you have any thoughts?" Si Yuhuan asked, staring intently at Jian Xi.

Jian Xi clenched the steering wheel. "You... must have had a hard time?"

"Is that all?"

Si Yuhuan frowned, his brow tightening, a dangerous glint flickering in his eyes.

Jian Xi swallowed hard. Understanding his displeasure, she quickly added, "I’ll take you home so you can get some rest."

"Wrong answer!" Si Yuhuan leaned in, wrapped an arm around her head, and pressed a punishing kiss to her lips, even biting her lightly.

His handsome face, magnified and mere inches from hers, carried the heavy scent of alcohol, mingled with a woman’s cloying perfume.

That must be Xinxin’s!

Jian Xi had smelled it on her earlier.

She instinctively tried to push him away.

Si Yuhuan noticed the fleeting look of disgust on her face and his anger flared. "Jian Xi, you’re not just heartless, you’re a cruel, ungrateful wretch!"

"Si Yuhuan! Can you stop being so unreasonable?" Jian Xi blurted out. An instant later, the car fell silent.

The words hung in the air, strikingly familiar.

Once, when Jian Xi had clung to him, begging him to stay away from other women, Si Yuhuan had said those exact words to her.

"I... I didn’t mean it like that." Still needing his help, Jian Xi didn’t dare push him too far. She bit her lip in frustration. "I’ll take you home."

Si Yuhuan slammed his hand on the steering wheel, leaning over her. His kiss was like a tempest in the dark, fierce enough to steal her breath away.

"MPH—MMH—" Jian Xi struggled.

He forcefully intertwined their fingers. Jian Xi’s eyes widened as Si Yuhuan’s possessiveness erupted. "You are not allowed to despise me! Do you hear me?!"

Jian Xi didn’t know what had gotten into him and could only nod vigorously. "I hear you! I hear you!"

Her voice unwittingly carried a sob. Si Yuhuan’s rationality instantly returned, and he immediately released her.

Jian Xi was in so much pain, tears nearly streamed down her face.

Si Yuhuan pinched the bridge of his nose. "Let’s go home."

The car started, driving smoothly down the road.

His breathing was even, as if he had fallen asleep.

Jian Xi glanced at him, knowing Si Yuhuan was merely suffering from the alcohol and wasn’t truly asleep.

"Have you found out anything? When will Huang Ying succeed? And before that... can I see my son?"

"Hah!" Si Yuhuan scoffed.

"So, you finally couldn’t hold back your questions?"

Jian Xi felt a pang of guilt.

"Si Yuhuan, if you help me, I will repay you," she said.

"Repay?"

He sounded as if he’d heard the world’s funniest joke.

"What kind of repayment? An alliance between Jian Group and Haohan Group? You think that’s enough?"

He opened his eyes, his dark pupils seeming to scorch Jian Xi. "I’m risking my life to save your son, even resorting to using my appeal! And this is all I get in return?"

SCREECH!

Jian Xi slammed on the brakes, stopping the car. She stared intently at Si Yuhuan. This man... his emotions are completely off kilter.

"Then what do you want? Just name it. If it’s something I can give, I’ll give it to you!"

She knew she was in the wrong and wanted to give Si Yuhuan whatever he desired, as long as it was within her power to do so.

"You!" Si Yuhuan pointed at her, uttering the word slowly.

"That’s impossible!" Jian Xi exclaimed, as if she’d heard the most ridiculous joke. "Si Yuhuan, have you forgotten I’m about to register my marriage with Zhang Yaxuan?"

"And what’s more, I have his child!"

Each of Jian Xi’s words struck like a hammer. When she finished, she saw the color drain from Si Yuhuan’s handsome face.

"But he doesn’t love you! And he doesn’t love the child either!"

Si Yuhuan pulled out a photo. It clearly showed Zhang Yaxuan strolling in W Country with his assistant, a smile on his face.

"For a trivial art exhibition, he leaves you and the child to suffer out here. He doesn’t even care that you and I are entangled. Jian Xi, if you hadn’t personally told him the child was his, I’d seriously question who Mingming’s father really is!"

Jian Xi’s eyes widened in shock, her pupils dilating as she began to tremble uncontrollably.

Si Yuhuan pinched her chin, his handsome face drawing near. "Is Mingming really the child you had with him?"

Jian Xi bit her lip, her mouth set in a firm line.

Suddenly, a cell phone rang.

Si Yuhuan glanced at his phone with displeasure. The name "Xinxin" was displayed prominently on the screen.

Jian Xi took a deep breath and pushed him away, forcing herself to remain calm. "Stop spouting nonsense. If he’s not Zhang Yaxuan’s, could he possibly be yours?"

Si Yuhuan was jolted back to reality.

Mingming’s birth date was completely inconsistent with the time he had been with her.

Mingming couldn’t possibly be his child!

What on earth was he thinking?!

Jian Xi turned her face away.

"You should answer your phone."

Si Yuhuan gritted his teeth and pressed the answer button.

Xinxin’s coquettish voice came through the line. "Yuhan, it’s done."
