Chapter 370: Amusement

Never has she seen a man with as much audacity as Amon.

For him to walk into her office, sit down before her, and then declare her as his lawyer without any prior agreements, it takes a special kind of person to do so.

A person who is arrogant beyond belief, and someone who thinks he is better than everyone.

As Angelica looks at Amon's incredibly handsome face and his smug, confident smile, she realizes that Amon is definitely the type of man who would do such a thing.

But Angelica is also not a woman who will let someone walk all over her.

"I don't think you understand, Mr. Khufu, that's now how this works," Angelica says.

In response, Amon just smiles and shakes his head. "No, I understand, Miss Brooke. It's you who doesn't understand. From today, you are going to be my lawyer. You will do everything I say, but don't worry, you will be rewarded generously for it," Amon says.

Angelica frowns, seeing Amon stick to his arrogant, domineering attitude.

"Mr. Khufu, please be respectful of my time. I do not know what you think this is, but you can not just walk in a tell me what to do. I am not your servant," Angelica says with a frown.

Amon might be the most handsome man she has ever seen, but she is not going to let him disrespect her like this any further.

But to her surprise, Amon chuckles, looking at her, as if what she said was just a joke. He was not giving her the respect that she wanted.

Angelica felt humiliated, and anger started creeping up inside her as her frown deepened.

"Mr. Khufu, this is not a joke. Please, tell me why you are here so that I can go back to doing my work," Angelica says.

"I already made it clear to you as to why I am here. Your time belongs to me now. No matter where you are, who you are with, whatever you are doing, it doesn't matter. You will drop everything when I ask for you," Amon says, getting a little serious.

Angelica feels her anger rising. The way Amon is looking down on her, telling her that she is now his property, it's the most disrespectful thing a man has ever said to her.

As a woman with a rich background who has got everything she wanted, she would never allow a man to treat her as such. She is done with Amon.

She no longer cares who Amon is, where he came from, or how he managed to get an audience with her. She wants him out.

"Mr. Amon, I will say this respectfully, please leave my office. We are done," Angelica says.

But Amon just laughs, dismissing her words as if they mean nothing.

Angelica is beyond pissed.

"Listen, I don't care who you are. I have had enough of you. Get the fuck out of my office or I am going to call security!" Angelica shouts.

But once again, Amon just chuckles, finding her outburst amusing.

"That's it. I am done with you!" She says, picks up her phone, and shouts into it. "Guards! There is an unwanted man in my office, drag him out of here!" She yells and slams the phone down and glares at Amon while folding her arms below her breasts, making them pop.

Amon smirks as he leers at her breasts. He can see himself playing with them.

Angelica notices Amon staring at her breasts, making her feel angrier than she has ever been.

She has never felt this humiliated in her life. She is Angelica Brooke, daughter of Richard Brooke, one of the most influential men in this city. How dare someone just walk into her office and treat her like a third-grade servant?

Suddenly, multiple guards run into her room and see Amon sitting on a chair as comfortably as one can.

"That's him! Drag him out of here!" Angelica shouts.

The guards look at each other and approach Amon.

"I will advise you all to stop where you are. I don't think any of you want to lose your jobs now, don't you?" Amon says.

The guards stop hearing Amon's threat.

Angelica is also surprised by his declaration. How can someone who doesn't even work here tell her guards that they can get fired?

'Is he delusional? Did a mental case just walk into my office?' Angelica questions herself as none of Amon's actions makes sense.

So Angelica could only think that this man before her is not right in the head, because how would you explain his delusions?

"What are you all doing, standing there. Are you idiots? Have you ever seen this man before? He doesn't work here. Get him out, now!" Angelica shouts.

The guards hesitate but take another step towards Amon.

"One last warning, take another step and you all are definitely fired," Amon says with a smile. The guards stop once again. Extremely confused about who to listen to.

Amon is having a lot of fun. At first, he just thought about messing with Angelica; he didn't expect her to blow up like this. But now that it has gone this far, Amon doesn't want to stop.

Angelica looks at the guards as if they are idiots. Why do they keep listening to this man?

Of course, she doesn't understand how important these jobs are to these guards. She is a rich girl who grew up around money; she doesn't understand the struggle of poor people.

Their jobs are being threatened, so how can they not be afraid?

"You idiots, he is messing with you. He is a nobody. He is not your boss. He doesn't own this company. Now drag this man out!" Angelica shouts. She is losing her mind.

"Well, I do not own this company, but I am her boss, so my words should outweigh hers," Amon says, looking at the guards.

But now the guards are even more confused. They look at Angelica and see that she is burning with overwhelming fury. They then conclude that this man is definitely messing with them.

If Amon were really Angelica's boss, she wouldn't be ordering them to drag him out of her office.

Some of them start getting angry as well, knowing that Amon is playing with them.

They stride towards Amon, angrily, when suddenly all of their phones start ringing, all at the same time.

They stop. Confused. Even Angelica is confused because how can all of their phones start ringing at the same time?

"Don't keep them waiting, pick it up," Amon says with a smile. "I don't think it's good news," He then whispers and begins chuckling.

They pick up their phones and place them against their ears. A few seconds later, one of them drops his phone in shock.

He then looks at Amon, terrified.

"I am so sorry, sir! Please forgive me! I didn't know! Please, I have families to feed. I have a little daughter, please! I don't want to be fired!" As soon as the first guard falls on his knee and starts begging Amon, the rest join in as well.

They all have their own poor sob stories. They try their best to convince Amon to give them another chance.

Angelica can't believe what is happening before her eyes. All the guards who work for her company are now on their knees begging an unknown man to save their jobs? This doesn't make sense at all.

She looks at Amon, confused, who still has that smug smile on his face.

'What's going on?' she thinks.

"Okay, fine, you can have your jobs back. Now leave the room. I have business to talk about with my lawyer here," Amon says.

"Oh, thank you! Thank you so much, sir! We will leave right away!" One of the guards says and runs out of Angelica's office; the rest follow him out without even bothering to address Angelica on their way out.

Angelica stares at the swinging door, stunned. What? How? Why? It didn't make sense. Nothing made sense.

She looks at Amon again. "How did you do that? What the fuck was that?" she asks.

Amon laughs again, earning more of Angelica's ire. She can see that Amon is finding amusement in her reactions. She can't get any angrier than she already is.

"You must have paid them. You told all of them to put on this act to appear high and mighty. I don't buy your bullshit one bit. I am not going to entertain you any further. If you are not going to get out, I will call the police!" Angelica shouts in anger.

She thinks that Amon paid off the guards to act in front of her because she couldn't make sense of what just happened before her any other way.

Even if Amon had the power to fire those guards, how did they receive those calls the exact moment Amon warned them, and how did the people who called the guards to fire them know about any of this? She didn't see Amon give any signals at all.

All of this was too weird.

Amon continues to look at her with an amused smile.

"You still don't understand, do you?" Amon says, smiling, leaning forward.

Angelica frowns.

"I own you," Amon says.

Angelica feels a chill run down her spine. She starts getting afraid, thinking Amon is a lunatic.

"I am calling the police!" she says and reaches for her phone to call the police when suddenly the door of her office swings open again and Angelica sees a familiar face rush in, panicked.
