Chapter 300: Messing with the wrong Pirates
"Cucombar, why? Why are you working with these reched demons? Have you fallen so low?" Picklenose was locked in a dungeon, away from his home, as Cucombar had kidnapped him. She loved her husband but didn’t want him in the way of her mission.
"And you, Dill! I took you in, raised you as my own! I wanted you to be my successor! Yet you side with her? Why?"
"It is for your own good, my lord. We will not win this fight against the demons, and in order to save you, I needed to make this difficult decision." Dill was telling the truth. All he wanted was for Picklenose to be safe, and he saw this as the best option.
"My sweet Pickle, please do not hate me. I promise that everything will be fine. The hero is weak and will lose, so with the demon king’s protection, we will survive."
"No, we wont!" He shouted. "The church got wind of your plans, as they had visited me before you kidnapped me. Not only that, but the hero from the foreign land is here as well! He’s powerful!"
"I know. We’re making plans on how to deal with him as we speak. Besides, the demon king is prepared to deal with this, Kai LuForia. The market is flooded with demon pills and tons of torrents, and even sorcerers have purchased them. Soon, the war will begin, and you will see why I needed you to be on my side."
Picklnose sighed. "I hope that you’re right, because if you’re not, then we’ll both die." He had already disconnected himself from his wife in every way possible, but that wouldn’t stop people from thinking he was associated with her.
If the demons lost, he may still be ridiculed or killed. If they won, then at least his wife’s purpose for doing all of this wasn’t in vain. Still, he wishes things didn’t come to be like this.

"Land! Oh, thank you, goddess! Land! I’ve missed you so much!" Kyana ran toward a tree to hug it. She climbed to the top of it and lay in its leaves, feeling nature calm her panicked mind.
"All we were doing was crossing a small body of water, and she’s acting like this? Kyana must really hate the water." Kai thought she would have gotten over that by now, but turns out she’s just not a water person.
At least she wasn’t like Sasha, though. Sasha couldn’t help but puke every time they stepped foot on a sea vessel.
"I expected this kind of behavior from Amaya, not you, Kyana."
Amaya jumped on Kai’s neck. "But I love water. Why would I act like the dumb elf over there?"
Kyana could accept being scared of the water and was okay with being made fun of because of that, but she would not allow Amaya, of all people, to call her dumb. "Dumb elf? Who are you calling dumb?"
"Is there any other elf here?"
Kyana pointed at Iris.
"Hey! I’m not afraid of the water!"
"Exactly, she’s not afraid of the water, Kyana. So is there any other elf here who’s a little bitch when we’re on a ship?"
"Ohhohohoho! You’re calling me bitch now? Amaya, I’ll fuck you up so bad that not even Kai will be able to heal you!"
"All I have to do is dump a bucket of water on your stupid ass, and you’ll run over to that tree over there because you’re a scared little bitch!"
’This is gonna be so good!’ Kai was eating popcorn with Gwen, Sasha, and Nadya, waiting for the two of them to fight.
Unfortunately, their battle was interrupted by a ship that docked close to them.
"Who are you people? This isn’t some place anyone can dock." A man said as he exited his ship.
"Pirates." Barry cursed.
Kai looked the man up and down and wasn’t impressed. The guy looked like some cartoon character with a big upper half and skinny lower half. "And who might you be?"
"Heh, you kids must be new. The name’s Jarl, Captain Jarl. And you’re in my territory. Now, unless you want to be eaten by the fish in the river, I suggest you leave right now."
"Oh wow, we’re so scared. Pfft, look at this guy, thinking he’s all tough and shit."
"Wait, Kai." Barry stepped forward and pulled Kai to the side. "This man is Jarl."
"Yeah, he just said that."
"He’s a pirate."
"Really now? I thought he was the leader of the circus."
"W-What I mean to say is that he’s a part of a larger group of pirates. I’m talking about a whole fleet. He’s just the captain of one ship, but there’s this one guy who’s the captain of the entire fleet. It’s said that he rules over the entire western archipelago."
This information was new to Kai, and it was something he could use. Aquaphine told him that the western part of the archipelago was taken over by demons, so this meant that these pirates most likely worked for them.
A crazy idea spawned in his head. He wanted to fuck with them. He would attack the pirates and all of their branches and bring out their leader just to stick it to those demons. He thought this would be pretty fun.
"I see. So messing with them could bring lots ot trouble." Kai concluded
"Exactly. While we can beat them easily, all of the other pirates will come after us, and they will even harm civilians if they think we’re hiding amongst them. It will be easier to walk away." Barry knew when to and when not to engage in conflict. That was something that differentiated him from Kai.
"You’re right. It’s best not to mess with them." Kai nodded.
"Great! I’m glad you agree."
"Amaya," Kai shouted. "Battle mode."
The catkin grinned wickedly, and her mana flared up. Before the wind could even catch up with her speed, she clawed off Jarl’s head.
Kai spun his finger around. "Take ’em out, girls."
Gwen, Sasha, Kyana, and Nadya all leaped into action, jumping on the ship to slaughter every pirate there, but they made sure to leave one of them alive so he could tell his boss about them.
"And make sure you tell him that I said he’s a stupid, ugly, dick-sucking pussy bitch." Kai smiled, then blew up the ship after taking the messenger off.
"That’s how it’s done, Barry. We don’t run away from fights, we welcome them!"
