Chapter 408: Think of Something Serious

Chapter 408: Chapter 408: Think of Something Serious

Adrian Walyon found it quite fun to tease Summer Sutton, yet Summer’s mind was not on his words.

With her feet bare, she crouched on the beach like a child, piling up sand.

She was building a sandcastle, meticulously shaping it with handfuls of fine white sand cupped in her hands.

Adrian stood behind her, watching intently for a moment at what she was building, and surprisingly found it coming along nicely.

Sitting beside her, he began to play with the sand alongside her.

"Honestly, my earlier suggestion is worth considering," he said, watching her as he continued to build.

His gaze was deep, like the vast, endless ocean beside them at night.

He looked at her with a faint smile on his lips, his dark eyes as black as a vortex, pulling one in.

"Can’t you think of something proper?" Summer pried open his hands, scooped out the sand in his palms, and continued constructing her castle.

When she touched his hands, her fingertips were cool, brushing against the skin of Adrian’s palm, sending a tingly sensation like tiny electric currents.

"How am I not proper?" Adrian, feeling itchy in his palms from her touch, felt even more ticklish in his heart.

Wasn’t he just trying to make their married life more fulfilling?

"There are so many people around!" Summer muttered, burying her head and continuing her work.

"So it’s fine where there are fewer people?" Adrian’s gaze deepened considerably after her words.

Summer was momentarily at a loss for words, and before she could respond, the weather which had been gloomy all night suddenly began to rain pattering down.

Summer rain, once it starts, falls like beads, quickly soaking through clothes.

Before Summer could react, Adrian grabbed her and ran toward the less crowded end of the beach.

He moved quickly, leaving a trail of their footprints winding along the long beach.

As they ran, fearing Summer would get wet, he took off his coat and held it over her head, poking his head under it as well.

"Sweetheart, there’s no one here now." His tone was casual, with a thick playful flair.

Their faces were very close, squeezed together under the tiny shelter of the coat, their lips almost touching.

Outside, the rain continued to pour.

It seemed heavier than before.

The beach, once crowded with players, emptied out as everyone ran for the road when the rain started.

Summer gazed quietly into his dark eyes, suddenly feeling somewhat intoxicated.

The sensation was like having had several drinks, immersed in the starry sea painted in his eyes, unable to pull herself out.

She stared at him for a long while, her arms gently wrapping around his neck, and Summer leaned in to kiss his lips.

Her kiss was like raindrops landing on the lips, a clear sensation spreading from the point their lips met, quickly permeating Adrian’s veins.

Adrian’s gaze upon her deepened.

He watched her intensely for a moment, one hand maintaining the position shielding her from the rain, the other supporting her waist, pressing her closer to him as his lips responded to hers.

Unlike her Tipping on Water kiss, his was intense, like waves sweeping over, seemingly trying to pull her into his vortex.

The rain continued to fall, and the two remained huddled in the small space under the coat, quietly embracing, kissing, and completely forgetting about everything around them...
