Chapter 370: Chapter 370: That Night, Was It You?

Summer Sutton originally didn’t feel strongly about the acting profession; she just thought it was fun.

Since Adrian Walyon didn’t allow it, she didn’t say much more.

Adrian Walyon came today to visit the set.

Unexpectedly, upon arrival, he witnessed Summer Sutton being taken advantage of.

After arriving, he felt uneasy and sat at the site for a while.

For the next few days, as long as Summer Sutton went to the film crew, he would visit the set.

His purpose was to protect her from being harassed by riffraff.

As long as he was around, the male actors who knew about their relationship basically stayed away from Summer Sutton.

They feared getting too close would provoke Adrian Walyon and lead to trouble.

With less harassment, Summer Sutton found work quite relaxing over the past few days.

After a busy day, she returned home with Adrian Walyon at one o’clock.

This time, in the dead of night, the Walyon Family was long since resting.

Adrian Walyon went upstairs to shower after coming home.

Summer Sutton felt a bit hungry and decided to cook a late-night snack downstairs.

To avoid disturbing the family, she closed the kitchen door and kept the noise minimal.

She casually cooked some dumplings, and just as they were in the pot, a rush of footsteps suddenly sounded in the living room.

The hurried pace suggested something urgent.

Listening intently, it sounded like Gina Sutton.

Summer Sutton checked her phone to see the time: 1:15 AM.

Why would a pregnant woman be up so late, coming downstairs?

Out of curiosity, Summer Sutton turned off the dumplings she was cooking, opened the kitchen door, and followed.

The living room was pitch black, with no one in sight.

Gina Sutton seemed to have gone to the garden.

Descending the stairs without turning on the lights?

Summer Sutton frowned slightly.

Gina seemed peculiar tonight, prompting Summer Sutton to tread softly into the garden.

The garden at midnight was eerily quiet.

Even the slightest sound could be heard clearly.

Gina Sutton stood with her back to Summer Sutton, under a flame tree, seemingly on the phone with someone.

She spoke in a hushed voice, as if afraid others would hear.

Summer Sutton didn’t hear much, only catching one sentence, "Who exactly are you?"

Who was she calling?

Mysterious, hiding something perhaps?

The more Summer Sutton dwelled on it, the stranger Gina Sutton’s behavior appeared.

Standing behind a tree, Summer Sutton quietly listened for a while longer.

She couldn’t hear the voice on the other end of the call.

Only occasionally catching a few words from Gina Sutton.

"Was it you that night?" Gina Sutton seemed somewhat angry, and Summer Sutton could sense the burning rage pent up in her chest during the call.

What night is she referring to?

What happened that night that warrants such a secretive phone call outside, in the middle of the night, in a deserted garden?

The puzzle in Summer Sutton’s mind grew deeper.

She didn’t know what had transpired with Gina Sutton but was certain Gina Sutton harbored a secret!

What could that secret be?

Gina Sutton was still on the phone, persistently asking the person on the other end who they were.

The other party seemed unwilling to answer, conversing for a few minutes before hanging up.

Gina Sutton angrily kicked the tree beside her, clenching her teeth as she strode towards Summer Sutton’s direction.

Summer Sutton reacted swiftly, hiding behind a tree, using the dark of night as cover, only emerging after she had departed.

After Gina Sutton entered the house, she seemed to return to her room.

Summer Sutton couldn’t stop replaying the recent events in her mind.

What kind of secret would make Gina Sutton so tense, even afraid of others finding out?

She truly couldn’t comprehend.
