Chapter 385: Chapter 385: No matter what happens, I am here
The two walked one after the other, and as soon as they left the hospital, the ear-piercing noise of Betty Chapman was gone, offering a respite.
Summer Sutton kept her head down, her thoughts heavy.
Adrian Walyon turned his head to look at her, gently holding her hand with his large one.
"Don’t worry, things will be resolved!"
Summer Sutton merely offered a bitter smile to his words.
She knew Adrian Walyon was only trying to comfort her.
This incident involved two lives; it’s not like the usual mishaps.
Even though Adrian stood by her side, the tone of Betty Chapman sounded like she wanted her life in return, and the grandfather didn’t trust her either.
Even if Adrian could use his connections, when it came down to it, would the police listen to Adrian or the Old Master?
The main point was that Summer Sutton had no evidence to prove her innocence...
"Why didn’t you call me when something happened last night?" Adrian Walyon led her to the car, helping her smooth her clothes.
A crisis struck the company last night, and he had been working overtime there from yesterday evening to this morning.
At home, a big incident occurred, yet no one informed him.
He only heard about it from the household servant when he returned home in the morning.
Summer Sutton didn’t respond to his words.
She actually didn’t want to trouble Adrian Walyon with every matter.
She had seen last night’s event clearly—it didn’t make much sense to seek his help.
"Have you eaten? What do you want to eat? Your husband will take you!" Adrian drove around the hospital.
Neither of them had breakfast or slept last night, now both tired and hungry.
"Soy milk." Summer Sutton thought for a moment and said.
"Alright." Adrian turned the car around, taking her to a breakfast shop on the way back.
They sat down and ordered the simplest breakfast—soy milk, fried dough sticks, and porridge, quietly having their meal.
After such an event last night, Summer Sutton wasn’t hungry, and ate very little.
As they walked out of the soy milk shop, Adrian held her hand and noticed it was icy cold.
Covering her hand with his palm to warm it, Adrian comforted her, "Don’t be afraid of anything as long as I’m here. It’ll be sorted!"
He had guessed her concerns and was trying to reassure her.
Summer Sutton looked up at him with bleary eyes, seeing his clear gaze, she nodded stiffly.
She didn’t know what the outcome of this incident would be.
But with Adrian present, perhaps out of trust in him, Summer Sutton seemed fearless...
...
Returning home, the house was eerily quiet.
Summer Sutton sat on the living room sofa, quietly waiting for news from Gina Sutton.
After she returned, she sat on the sofa the entire day, without sleeping, still no word from the hospital.
Gina Sutton hadn’t woken up...
Summer Sutton felt very anxious, constantly twisting her clothes while sitting on the couch.
Adrian Walyon stayed with her at home throughout the day, but at night, the police station called him away, seemingly to discuss the accident.
Bryce Walyon also returned from the hospital at night, going straight to the Old Master’s room.
His mood was heavy, clearly affected by the incident.
Being the Walyon family’s eldest grandson, perhaps he might inherit more because of it, so it’s natural he’d be concerned.
His face was grim, and upon entering, he stated, "Dad, you must be fair this time!"
