Capítulo 1978: Chapter 1978: Unable to Tell East from West

The scene temporarily fell into a stalemate, even Amon temporarily halted his attack. The three held their positions in mid-air, and at this moment, the city had been mostly destroyed. The remaining areas were teetering on the brink, truly becoming a small boat in the Void, struggling against its corrosion.

Those who survived felt a post-catastrophe relief; it was truly fortunate. Unless one reached world-class status, there was basically nothing to do but pray and depend on luck.

They finally got a temporary breather, all waiting for the final decision of the three above. After all, this was merely a temporary ceasefire; who knows, a disagreement could lead to another battle shortly, which cannot be predicted. It was very uncomfortable, especially since their fate wasn’t in their own hands or control.

One might say they were almost like lambs waiting to be slaughtered, at the very least shocked; it is estimated their drive to pursue strength will be more urgent and fervent.

And the surviving players were left with no arrogance at all. Although their strength was temporarily weak, having gone through this, they will surely rise again to higher heights.

It also allowed them to clearly recognize their own abilities and led the many spectators to reflect.

Could it be that the high-level leaders have temporarily reached their peak, progressing further won’t be that easy.

Not to mention other small sub-dimensions, just look at this city with numerous players. Besides Li Yao and the Enchantress having truly benefitted and seeming able to retreat safely, look at the others, at their miserable state.

Who among them was not a super expert before, with many fans, each person’s ability acknowledged and proven? Yet, this is the result, truly sigh-inducing, sub-dimension isn’t as beautiful as imagined.

“This city won’t last more than an hour now, are you satisfied?” The Divine King said with a cold expression.

Li Yao wasn’t willing to show weakness at all: “What, not satisfied? Keep going; I promise this broken place won’t exist for even fifteen minutes; do you believe it?”

“You…”

The Divine King was about to explode; he had never endured so much anger in ages; it was truly infuriating.

“Enough, you need to calm down.” The Great Witch shouted, “Do you really want to have everyone down below accompany us to the grave because of a conflict of ideals?”

“Is this just my personal matter?” The Divine King’s expression change.

“Third Sister is right; precisely because it’s not just your personal matter, you cannot act on impulse,” the Dance King added, and suddenly three Salary Kings supported the Great Witch.

The Divine King’s face was very unpleasant; he had always been someone whose word was law, never expected one sentence from the Great Witch would garner more supporting Salary Kings than himself.

Although several others didn’t speak, they’d all reached their pinnacle as kings of an era, none with eyes lower than the heavens or unstable minds. Such autocracy from the Divine King was already disliked; they were all Salary Kings, just because you are some Divine King, you should be the front.

It’s like a joke, and after they reach the main dimension, what are they really, not daring to act. If the Divine King is unable to adjust his mindset, when the main dimension is strong like clouds, no telling how many people he will offend.

While they are not afraid of trouble, they also don’t wish to invite it.

“Fine, truly fine, keep going; you all once united against a common enemy, and now you’re finally splitting? Why not start believing in me again, and when we reach the main dimension, I’ll give you a promising future,” Amon sneered.

Bang!

The pyramid trembled, large pieces of blood energy scattered, drifting amidst the Void, as Amon screamed.

“Shut up! We will consistently remain united against you.”

Eight Salary Kings almost simultaneously scolded, Amon manipulating those corpse faces twisted, obviously extremely angered.

“This is the last time; not only can this main dimension’s guy destroy here, but I can too,” Amon said grimly.

“Then it’s settled; we each take our people, any grudges or sentiments to be settled after this,” Li Yao said.

“Very well,” the Great Witch, not waiting for the Divine King to speak, said, “We apologize for the recent offense as the body is relatively important to us. However, since we have reached this stage, we know we are unable to guard it. The body will henceforth belong to you; we will not tangle further. Only, should we meet in the main dimension, we ask for the Lord’s mercy to grant us a path of survival.”

The other Salary Kings also cupped their hands, uniquely the Divine King took off his mask, choosing not to see and not to worry.

“Sure, sure.” Li Yao was not an aggressive person, and there wasn’t any unresolvable hatred; and with these beings each unruly, perhaps they’d suffer in the main dimension, creating a chance to ally. His domain still lacked people, vast but sparsely populated, really missing population.

Several Divine Kings landed on the pyramid, opening an entrance, and the Divine King shouted, “You Undead, what are you waiting for? Enter the pyramid, and I will navigate the Void with you. Once all willing Undead are taken, we will enter the main world. As for the living, we are originally the same; you burn thoroughly like us, wanting to enter the pyramid we will absolutely treat you equally.”

The surviving Undead were extremely excited, quickly rushing towards the pyramid. Many sensible followers also ran towards the pyramid with heads bowed.

Amon angrily said, “How dare you steal my followers? I am Amon, your Supreme God you believed in during life, redressing I will equally treat you, navigating with you.”

Yet not a single Undead was willing to board Amon’s blood cloud, further angering Amon, who was, after all, a god, yet driven to such a state, truly unjust.

At the city’s edge, Li Yao and the Enchantress’s bodies were respectively perched on the shoulders of the ancient god’s corpse; Li Yao held a lantern, as spots of soul light scattered within the Void.

The few dozen remaining players gathered at the rear of the ancient god’s corpse; seeing the two silent, the group grew anxious.

The leading female player said, “Enchantress, you see the current situation too, outside is full of Void Turbulence, with unchanging elements. Entering, we are surely doomed, please help us; there shall be ample reward.”

The Enchantress helplessly replied, “I know, but the Guild Leader is currently searching for the continental true direction, otherwise even we will get lost within the Void; I can only promise to take you, the rest depends on the Guild Leader.”

The others immediately began talking over each other, trying to establish connections if possible, promising rewards in absence of connections, suddenly resembling a chaotic marketplace.

Inside the ancient god’s corpse, Li Yao’s consciousness said, “Enough, don’t disturb my calculations. If I cannot find the true direction before they protect everyone, the battle will restart. I can fight them to the death, yet there’s hope, but you, consider well.”

The crowd suddenly shut up, eagerly waiting for Li Yao’s result…
