Chapter 376: Who did this to you, Ricky?

When they arrived back at their place, it was to find that the old security team was already outside. They weren't being subtle, weren't hiding, and the one who was in 'charge' came to Maxwell and Andrew's side when the car stopped in front.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Beckett, Dr. Knox. We know this is rather sudden, but your Mother, Mr. Beckett, let us know of the seriousness of the situation." He said, giving a slight bow. Andrew blinked, before he chuckled.

"Oh, this feels so familiar. Who knew we'd be putting Richard through the same shit I went through?" He gave them a slightly confused look.

"We picked up a few other scents…is there someone else living on the property? We weren't briefed on the where and what, so much as we were told it was more urgent for us to get clearance first." He admitted and Maxwell shivered. Andrew chuckled.

"We can discuss this inside. Max doesn't handle the cold well. Bring in two more people to listen in, and then you guys can debrief as need be. Or, whatever you guys do when you need to spread information. One thing to note upfront, we have another recently manifested person staying in the house. My brother, and he's an omega. He might also…have something else over right now." Andrew said with a little smirk.

"We're hoping, at least." Maxwell agreed. The guard just nodded, not letting his curiousity show, if he was even curious.

"Understood. We'll be at the front door in a few minutes." He left their side as Andrew then turned and made sure that they had everything out of the car before they made their way to the front door, Andrew's arm around Maxwell's shoulder, pulling him close.

When they unlocked the door and stepped into the house, it was silent.

Too silent. Especially for late afternoon.

Andrew knew that Richard hadn't drank that much, he'd been keeping an eye on him. Now, did that mean that he hadn't drank more when he got home? No. And if he'd been up to what they suspected, him being quiet this late in the afternoon wasn't uncommon. With that said, both Andrew and Maxwell were on high alert, their paternal instincts worried that something had happened to their boy.

Maxwell began rapidly undressing while Andrew kicked off his shoes.

"I'm going to go check." Andrew whispered quietly and Maxwell nodded.

"I'll check the cameras too." Maxwell whispered, and they went their separate way. They were getting very worked up, but one check of the kitchen and all worry was gone.

Richard was sitting at the island, half of his body slumped against the stone countertop as he used his hand from that side to prop up his head. His other hand was holding a spoon and he was trying to spoon some cereal into his mouth. Andrew didn't even know where he found cereal. He might have brought it in himself.

Richard hadn't noticed that he was in the doorway, and for good reason.

The man looked dazed, confused, and his long hair was down around his shoulders in a damn mess. His glasses were askew on his face, his clothes weren't on properly and Andrew swore he saw a hickey on his neck.

Someone had done some serious work on Richard, and while Andrew was relieved that he was alive at the very least, the other part of him, the part that was supposed to be starting med school again soon, was in full panic mode.

"Ricky? Are you okay?" Andrew called a little louder, letting Maxwell know that he'd found him right away. Richard, for his part, slowly turned his gaze towards Andrew and blinked slowly. It clearly took a minute for him to process who was in front of him, and when he did, he closed his eyes and let out a sigh.

Andrew rushed across the room, watching as Richard's head dipped and thankfully moved the bowl of cereal out the way before Richard's head smashed into it. Instead he hit his head, but that could have been a damn disaster that Andrew would have never let him live down.

"Ricky! What the hell, man?" Andrew yelled and heard a rather quick footed Maxwell round the corner. His whole face was twisted with worry.

"Is he okay?" He asked, yanking his coat off with great concern. So much so that he tossed it to the ground as Andrew lifted Richard's face up, checking his eyes. Richard stared back at him, before it finally clicked that other people were in the house. Maxwell and Andrew watched as his whole face went so red Andrew grew even more worried.

"W-What? When d-did you get here?" He stuttered, his voice hoarse. Andrew didn't let him go, not until Richard proved that he could hold his own head up by himself. It was a bit like watching over a baby.

"We've barely been here for 2 minutes, Ricky. What on earth happened while we were gone? Who left you like this? And don't lie. We aren't blind." Maxwell demanded, his tone serious. Richard's face looked even more embarrassed.

Andrew was seriously worried for his health with the colour he was turning and the scent that was wafting off of him. He was getting worked up, but thank goodness Andrew was better at managing himself now.

"N-No-"

"Don't lie." Maxwell snapped. "You're barely able to sit up. Whoever left you in this condition is a damn monster." Maxwell was angry, clearly, and that only made Richard even more embarrassed. He shifted, pulling away from Andrew and nearly falling off of the stool he was sitting on. Andrew had to catch him, and Richard pulled his arm out of his grasp almost immediately.

"What are you? My Mom? Get off my back." The words slipped out of Richard's mouth, and then he froze. Andrew froze, but Maxwell? He just got more angry.

"I am worse than your mother. I think May would leave this alone, I, however, do not like the idea of someone doing this to you, Richard. Especially as a newly manifested. As someone who cares deeply about two newly manifested people, I cannot tolerate someone leaving you in this condition. So?" Maxwell asked, cornering him from the other side. "Who did it? Who did you take home? And remember, I'm asking you out of the goodness of my heart. I can find out through the cameras that I warned you about." Maxwell's voice was threatening.

Richard paled at the fierce light behind his eyes.

Then, he avoided his gaze and looked down.

"They didn't do anything wrong." Richard mumbled.

"I can't see how they didn't, given how you can barely hold yourself up. You have to be careful with those who are newly manifested." Maxwell was adamant about his stance on this, while Andrew was trying his best to keep from smiling. Richard had tried to have a backbone, but in the face of Maxwell's care, he was folding like a chair.

"I…ugh, this is so fucking embarrassing." Richard muttered. Maxwell snorted, crossing his arms.

"Yeah, it is. So? Are you going to tell me who this asshole is so I can beat some sense into them? Did you forget, Richard? I know everyone who was in that room?" Richard looked even more uncomfortable.

"This isn't…ugh fuck! Fine! It's because I've never done it that way before! That's why I'm like this!" Andrew, knowing better, stepped back.

"And that's my cue to leave. Max, he's all yours." Andrew said, turning to leave. Richard had a conflicted look on his face. It was clear he didn't want to be left alone with Maxwell, but that Andrew was probably the reason why he wasn't able to be honest with Maxwell about what was going on. "I'll speak to the guards." Andrew said over his shoulder.

"Thanks, Andy. Richard, we're going into the dining room. Can you at least walk?" Maxwell sounded pissed, but Andrew was glad he could finally smile now that he had his back to the two of them. He knew Richard was in good hands. He didn't think for a second that Maxwell was going to punish him for anything he didn't deserve.

It was a good thing that Andrew went to handle the guards as they were waiting outside of the front door. Andrew took the moment to show them around, avoiding the dining room since that was where Maxwell was yelling at Richard.

The group could hear Maxwell tearing a strip off of Richard, and Andrew gave the guards an awkward smile.

"Don't mind that. Max is just…teaching Richard." Andrew said with a little awkward laugh. The guards just nodded. They probably didn't get paid enough to care about two omegas yelling at each other.

Andrew also explained that the reason why Luis had probably reached out was due to the fact that Andrew's father had shown up at the Christmas party yesterday. That did mean that Andrew had to explain who his father was, even if it caused him a great amount of discomfort. The men took it in stride, especially the main man.

He had been there when Andrew had collapsed in the gym, and he stared at Andrew for a long moment before he sighed.

"I'm sorry to hear that your father is attempting to harm you, sir. We'll make sure we're always armed so we can deal with the situation at any time." It was a quiet way to say that they understood the situation and Andrew appreciated it.

"Thank you. I mean, don't shoot him fatally. We don't need you going to jail." Andrew said with a laugh. "Just make sure to fire a few warning shots. Into non critical parts." That was the first time Andrew saw the man smile.

"Well, I can think of a few things that aren't 'critical'. I'll have the crew work on their marksmanship." He said with a slightly twisted glee. Andrew didn't get what he was talking about, not until later that night, when he was about to drift off to sleep.

The man had been talking about shooting his father's dick off. Holy moly.

Well, if he trespassed, there was only so much Andrew could do about that. There was a cost, and he was going to learn it.
