Chapter 1464: Chapter 1513: Sophia Takes Action
Yanagio Inujiro’s Black Qi is a strange and sinister aura he has cultivated over the years. The Black Qi, when attached to the body, not only causes great trouble for the opponent, but also strengthens himself. This effect is similar to Cui Chenghao’s after taking drugs.
However, his is much more powerful than Cui Chenghao’s and lasts much longer.
This Black Qi is accumulated through sinister arts by Yanagio Inujiro over decades, which is not something Cui Chenghao’s short-term effect can compare to.
The two exchanged more than ten moves, each dangerously fierce. Li Yifei felt his arms enveloped by that Black Qi, burning and eroding them, producing a sizzling sound.
"Die!" Yanagio Inujiro attacked again, and Li Yifei couldn’t dodge in time. His arms were seized by Yanagio Inujiro, who grasped his hands tightly and pulled hard, dragging Li Yifei closer.
Li Yifei used strength in his lower body to steady himself, contending against Yanagio Inujiro’s force with his feet.
Yanagio Inujiro suddenly withdrew his power, causing Li Yifei to lose balance and stumble, flying out and falling to the ground.
Yanagio Inujiro’s face, full of Black Qi, displayed pride as he looked down at Li Yifei, mockingly saying, "Get up and fight again, Li Yifei. You’ve surprised me by forcing me to use decades-worth of accumulated Black Qi..."
Before Yanagio Inujiro could finish, the seemingly powerless Li Yifei suddenly exerted force from his waist, bumping his hip against the ground, springing his body up. In mid-air, he adjusted his posture, kicking Yanagio Inujiro’s chin.
Yanagio Inujiro failed to dodge in time, immediately hit by Li Yifei, and flew out.
Li Yifei had gathered a lot of strength for this kick, incredibly powerful. When Yanagio Inujiro climbed up from the ground, his face felt twisted, his chin marked with a big red imprint.
Li Yifei gazed coldly at Yanagio Inujiro, breathing heavily, mobilizing the True Qi within to repair his body and dispel the Black Qi on his arms. Within the Black Qi’s wrap, his arms were slowly losing strength. He also tried to mobilize the Innate Vital Energy in his Dantian, but the Innate Vital Energy remained unresponsive, leaving Li Yifei helpless.
This was his last life-saving move. If he couldn’t use the Innate Vital Energy, Li Yifei would have no choice but to... retreat.
In the mountains, Sophia had long been lurking there, watching Li Yifei drive up and slowly climb the mountain until he disappeared into the mist.
Sophia stayed still, waiting for the right moment. Li Yifei risked his life for her to buy time; Sophia absolutely couldn’t allow herself to fail.
Sophia was aware of other people lurking in the mountains, but they hadn’t discovered her.
When Li Yifei climbed the mountain, he also spotted her, unintentionally glanced her way, and winked. Sophia had wanted to rush out and fight alongside Li Yifei but held back. After waiting, when Li Yifei reached the top and the mist cleared, Sophia began her hunt.
Her targets were those lurking in the fog. In a short ten minutes, Sophia succeeded repeatedly, killing three people.
These people weren’t weak, comparable to the rogue samurai Sophia killed a few days ago.
But in the realm of assassination, Sophia far exceeded these individuals. The fog provided the perfect cover.
Sophia could hear the fighting sounds from the mountain top, faintly hearing Li Yifei’s voice and Yanagio Inujiro’s arrogant roars.
She ignored all that, killed two more individuals, and reached the base of the mountain, where the sky was overcast and the atmosphere oppressively tense. As soon as Sophia appeared, she was discovered, and three ninjas yelled as they rushed toward her.
Sophia flicked her hand, sending out three Flying Daggers, each aimed at one of the three.
The three ninjas saw a cold gleam flash. Two reacted in time, using their Ninja Swords to block, but the third failed to block and was stabbed in the throat by Sophia, the entire dagger penetrating, leaving a bloody hole, and he fell after a few gurgles.
The other two ninjas, furious, charged at Sophia, who swiftly moved to confront them.
The three became entangled in battle. Sophia wielded a dagger, suddenly closing in on one ninja, and a cold flash slashed across his side, releasing a spray of blood as Sophia carved a great wound into him.
The last ninja, horrified, tried to retreat, but Sophia twisted her body to a strange angle, dodging his Ninja Sword to close in on him, applied force, spun the dagger in her hand, then plunged it into the ninja’s chest.
The ninja, unable even to call for help, looked unwillingly back, seemingly wondering who this woman was and why she dared invade Lord Yanagio Inujiro’s territory and even kill!
Within seconds, three were killed, and Sophia felt exhausted, reaching her limit. Each move required extreme precision to execute. Following the final thrust, Sophia didn’t pause, pulled the dagger from the enemy’s chest, and made an additional cut, slitting his throat, ensuring thorough execution.
Without stopping her steps, Sophia sprinted towards the room where Meng Xiaofei was held. She had already located Meng Xiaofei earlier, so there was no confusion now.
She had to rescue Meng Xiaofei; it was the only conviction in Sophia’s heart.
Having slain two more, Sophia finally reached the house.
Damn, there’s someone in the room. Just as Sophia was about to push the door, she heard a ninja speaking inside. She didn’t understand what was said, but the voice was loud, clearly reprimanding.
Sophia leaned against the wall; there were no windows here. She was unsure of the situation inside, but then heard Meng Xiaofei shouting from within, "Don’t come over, I... ah..."
Sophia couldn’t wait any longer and kicked the door open, charging inside.
Inside, there were two ninjas. One was holding Sophia, while the other was gripping a ninja sword. Seeing Sophia burst in, the sword-holding ninja immediately cursed and swung the blade toward her. The other ninja also turned around.
At the same time, Meng Xiaofei bit the wrist of the ninja holding her. The ninja cried out in pain and released her. Meng Xiaofei took the chance to lie back and kicked out with both legs, hitting the ninja’s waist. Unfortunately, her strength was too weak, and although the ninja was unprepared, she couldn’t kick him away.
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief and shouted, "Get down!"
Meng Xiaofei rolled to the other side of the bed, clutching a pillow as a weapon.
The sword-holding ninja and the bitten ninja ignored Meng Xiaofei and turned to tackle the charging Sophia.
As soon as they engaged, Sophia realized these two ninjas were much stronger than the ones outside. Their speed and power were significantly greater.
One-on-one, Sophia felt confident she could take down one of the ninjas, though it would take some time. But in a two-on-one situation, Sophia had to divide her focus with Meng Xiaofei, which added some trouble.
"Go Sofia, sister!" Meng Xiaofei shouted, clutching the pillow.
Sophia gathered her breath and threw out two Flying Daggers, forcing one ninja back while engaging the other with her dagger.
Being an inch longer was an inch riskier. Sophia had to get closer.
The ninja was no pushover either; his ninja sword swung like the wind, making it difficult for Sophia to close in.
"Baka!" The ninja forced back by the Flying Daggers went furious. Had he not dodged quickly, the daggers would have hit him. He swung the sword back at Sophia.
Sophia was surrounded; Meng Xiaofei watched with her heart in her throat, but she couldn’t help much. Running over would only earn her a slash.
Two swords swung—one aimed at Sophia’s chest with no intention of mercy, the other blocked her retreat.
"Watch out!" Meng Xiaofei warned.
Sophia’s eyes showed a glint of toughness and ferocity. She surprisingly didn’t dodge the front ninja’s sword. Her body merely shifted slightly to avoid vital points, allowing the blade to come at her while throwing her dagger hand backwards forcefully.
Trading injury for injury, Sophia, as a seasoned assassin, could be far more ruthless than these ninjas. Her side got slashed, cutting into flesh, instantly exposing a wound.
Sophia’s dagger, however, hit the sneaking ninja behind her right in the chest and abdomen.
But that ninja’s sword also cut into Sophia’s shoulder.
Meng Xiaofei’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t help but throw her pillow at a ninja while rushing forward for a life-and-death struggle, shouting, "Hurt my Sister Sofia, I’ll fight to the death with you."
"No!" Sophia yelled angrily and suddenly unleashed her strength, twisting at a bizarre angle regardless of the pain. She gripped the dagger handle with both hands, using all her strength to drag upward, instantly gashing a huge wound in the ninja’s abdomen.
Pulling out the dagger, Sophia didn’t look at him but kicked backward, knocking away the ninja behind.
That ninja dodged flexibly, shouting as his hands clutched the sword and slashed toward her.
Sophia’s dagger was just an ordinary one. She came to Japan directly by plane and couldn’t bring her weapons. But the ninja’s sword was the finest, so when Sophia swung her dagger to block, it snapped in half instantly.
Seeing the blade about to cut Sophia’s waist in half, Meng Xiaofei appeared. She dashed over and at the critical moment jumped with all her might.
If slowed down, the courage in Meng Xiaofei’s eyes would be visible, her tightly gritted silver teeth slightly puffing her cheeks. Her hands stretched out, index fingers spread open, resolutely grabbing at the ninja’s arm.
That ninja angrily shouted, his arm twisted, changing the direction of the swung sword toward Meng Xiaofei.
"No!" Sophia’s eyes showed horror, realizing this slash could end Meng Xiaofei’s life.
