Chapter 1486: Chapter 1535: Commit Suicide
Koboto Kobayashi’s men easily charged onto the small island, losing only four people, with two seriously injured and a few lightly injured. However, the remaining dozens on the opposite island were already mostly dead or wounded, and those left quickly realized they had been abandoned.
Once they realized this, they lost the will to resist and quickly surrendered.
Koboto Kobayashi’s men took control of these people, searched the area, and immediately reported to Koboto Kobayashi that the people had fled.
Koboto Kobayashi had been observing the situation through binoculars. Seeing their victory, he was just about to rejoice when he heard his subordinates say that Motoharu Ryota and other key figures had fled. He threw down the binoculars, ran to Li Yifei’s side, and relayed the news to him.
"Chase!" Li Yifei frowned, discarded the sniper rifle, opened the car door, and got in, with Koboto Kobayashi hurrying to follow.
They quickly arrived on the island, where the people abandoned by Motoharu Ryota were completely controlled. Their faces were ashen, kneeling on the ground with their hands on their heads, while several guns pointed at them. Koboto Kobayashi jumped out of the car, ran over shouting a barrage of questions, while Li Yifei simply glanced over and ran toward the opposite side of the small island. In the distance, the shadow of a speedboat was still visible, and two speedboats destroyed by the enemy were left at the dock, obviously wrecked during their escape.
Koboto Kobayashi also ran over at this point and quickly said, "We also have speedboats. I’ve sent someone to bring them over."
Li Yifei frowned and nodded, and as soon as the speedboat arrived, he jumped on board without a word, seized the helm, and started pursuing.
Ahead, Motoharu Ryota slumped in the speedboat, his eyes somewhat vacant. All his preparations had been thwarted by Li Yifei. With his escape, he likely could no longer stay in Japan, but he hadn’t yet considered where to go. His subordinates were noisily discussing possibilities—some suggested Europe, others the United States—which only agitated him more. These people were rooted in Japan, and which countries could even take them in? Some countries might not accept them at all, and they would have to sneak in.
But for now, they were momentarily safe. After this incident, Motoharu Ryota was convinced he should stay far away from Li Yifei in the future, never provoking him again.
Just then, a subordinate glanced back and suddenly leaped up as if pricked by a needle, his face full of panic, pointing far off and shouting, "They... they’re catching up!"
The shout alarmed everyone on board. Motoharu Ryota instantly tensed up, turned his head, and indeed spotted an additional speedboat on the distant horizon, soon followed by a second one.
Motoharu Ryota was utterly shocked. They had destroyed extra speedboats during their escape; where did these people get their boat? But now wasn’t the time to ponder this. Motoharu Ryota hurriedly urged his subordinates to accelerate to full speed.
But after all, they were on the sea, and no matter how fast, they couldn’t go very far. Li Yifei’s speedboat seemed faster, and the distance was closing rapidly. Motoharu Ryota felt as if his heart might leap out of his chest.
Li Yifei’s expression was forbidding as he deftly closed in with his vessel, his target unambiguous: Motoharu Ryota must not be allowed to escape. Once he identified which boat Ryota was on, Li Yifei pursued directly.
Behind him, Koboto Kobayashi and his subordinates were also hot on their trail. If Motoharu Ryota escaped, they would face endless troubles. Such a massive operation today was all to annihilate him.
On the sea, several speedboats chased each other, the gap slowly, steadily closing. Finally, within firing range, Motoharu Ryota found himself with nowhere to run, forcing him to pick up a gun and retaliate fiercely.
But with the boat’s rocking and insufficient range, the bullets couldn’t hit Li Yifei.
Soon, a private island appeared ahead. Motoharu Ryota, desperate, urged them to drive toward it. The speedboat dashed onto the beach, thrashing its occupants, sending them tumbling everywhere. Ignoring his pain, Motoharu Ryota climbed up from the sand, spat out a mouthful, grabbed his gun, and started running into the island.
Koboto Kobayashi excitedly shouted from behind, "Ha ha, let’s see where you run now! Chase after them for me!"
Li Yifei continued at his relentless pace, steering the speedboat onto the beach, although much more nimbly. As the boat hit the sand, Li Yifei leaped several meters forward, landing smoothly, while the others onboard tumbled awkwardly.
After landing, Li Yifei chased after them, but not blindly. As his target entered the forest, Li Yifei proceeded cautiously during his pursuit.
The sound of bullets echoed, showering sand on the beach. Recently landed, Koboto Kobayashi instinctively ducked, feeling a bit embarrassed afterward, cursed, and got up gripping his gun to return fire.
This smaller island, not even half the size of the previous one, featured only a small hill rising a few dozen meters high, with a small area. The figures of Motoharu Ryota and his group flickered in and out of view. As Li Yifei entered the forest, his movements became more agile, covering ten to twenty meters with a few leaps, narrowing the distance.
Two minutes later, Motoharu Ryota’s group had to stop. They had no choice, as the other side of the small island was a sheer cliff, a drop of several dozen meters, with the ocean waves crashing below, oblivious to what lay beneath.
It’s a dead end. A moment ago, Motoharu had a fleeting hope of escape, but now it vanished. With a desolate expression, he sat on the ground, watching his adversaries closing in, unable to utter another word.
His men continued to resist, and Motoharu fired a few shots as well, but their opponents’ aim was better. After a series of gunshots, there were fewer people standing next to Motoharu. Those who weren’t shot down were lying on the ground, bodies trembling uncontrollably, nearly in collapse.
The pursuers were now only twenty to thirty meters away, guns pointed at Motoharu, making escape impossible for him.
"I lost!" Motoharu stood up, discarded the gun in his hand, and said in a hoarse voice, pointing at Koboto Kobayashi, "But I didn’t lose to you, I lost to the Golden Eagle. You are strong, I have nothing to say!"
Koboto Kobayashi sneered with disdain but did not rush to speak. Indeed, today’s victory was achieved with Li Yifei’s help; since Li Yifei remained silent, Koboto naturally held his tongue.
Li Yifei raised an eyebrow, still pointing his gun at Motoharu, and with a slight twitch of his lips, he uttered two words: "Commit suicide."
Motoharu’s face turned pale. He thought that by surrendering voluntarily, his opponent might spare his life, but Li Yifei only said the words "commit suicide," with nothing more to add.
"I have a lot of money, I can give it all to you, just... just spare my life!" Motoharu was still pleading.
This time, Koboto Kobayashi feared Li Yifei might agree, so he quickly interjected, "I have more money than you, I can offer Mr. Golden Eagle even more!"
Li Yifei’s expression remained unchanged as he said, "You commit suicide, and those who hunted me will commit suicide too. The others may live."
Upon hearing this, the subordinates, who believed they were doomed today, immediately looked up at Motoharu. Though they didn’t speak, their gazes seemed to say, "Die, and we may live."
With a bleak smile, Motoharu slowly bent down to pick up a handgun from the ground. Every movement was sluggish; no one wants to die, but now he had no choice.
Bam! A gunshot echoed, leaving a bloody hole in Motoharu’s temple. His gun fell from his hand as his body lost control, collapsing backward and tumbling off the cliff into the sea below.
The other participants in the chase exchanged glances, shakily picked up their guns, and followed suit, committing suicide.
Throughout the entire process, Li Yifei remained expressionless. In times of passion, he was fervent enough; in matters of emotion, he was deeply affectionate. Yet when cold-bloodedness was called for, he was more ruthless than anyone; he had no sympathy for these people.
Seeing those who hunted him all dead, Li Yifei left without a word, discarded the gun he was holding, and turned to walk down the mountain.
A weight lifted from Koboto Kobayashi’s heart, finally rid of the major nuisance that was Motoharu. From now on, the Yamaguchi Group would be entirely his. As for the hefty gratuity he was to pay Li Yifei, it was worth it. Passing his gun to the subordinates beside him to handle the aftermath, Koboto, full of joy, trotted off to catch up with Li Yifei.
Two hours later, Li Yifei returned alone to Aoki Ryota’s residence by car. The women at home were waiting for him. Seeing Li Yifei return safely, they all breathed a sigh of relief. Meng Xiaofei ran over, hugged his waist tightly, and in a crisp voice said, "Brother Li! You’re back, how wonderful!"
Li Yifei gently rubbed her head, affectionately saying, "Yes, I’m back. It’s all settled."
"Great, I knew Brother Li could handle those bad guys!" Meng Xiaofei was truly happy because Li Yifei had promised her that after solving the problem, he would accompany her on a trip to fulfill her dream of traveling. Thus, the thought of what could happen next delighted Meng Xiaofei immensely.
Aoki Reiko approached, smiling as she said, "Congratulations, Feijun."
Aoki Reiko felt a sense of shared pride, as Li Yifei’s strength would soon be renowned throughout Japan.
Yet in her heart, there was also some regret. Li Yifei was strong, just like him, but alas, he is he, and Li Yifei is Li Yifei. If... if the two were one person, how wonderful it would be. Then she could boldly tell Li Yifei and pursue him, but sadly these were two people, Aoki Reiko reminded herself.
Sophia also came out to greet Li Yifei. Seeing him return unharmed, she too sighed with relief. She was injured and couldn’t fight alongside Li Yifei, which was a source of regret for her.
Sophia was very happy but stood there without coming forward, whereas Li Yifei, after letting go of Meng Xiaofei, walked straight to Sophia, opened his arms wide, and embraced her, saying, "I’m back."
