Chapter 589: Chapter 590: Meeting Cheng Shi
She had already torn off the facade with Wang Ziran, so there was no need to hold back anymore. Ultimately, there were only two outcomes: either she’d get fired, or the boss would start valuing her.
Many colleagues in the group had some grievances against Wang Ziran, and among them, some were hoping someone could suppress Wang Ziran, making her more restrained in the group.
But hearing Zhou Meimei’s words, these people merely smiled bitterly and shook their heads. No one believed that Zhou Meimei could achieve it because the task was fundamentally unattainable; even a miracle was equally impossible, as the distance between the two groups seemed as vast as a galaxy.
"Do you know, Zhou Meimei, to me you look like a clown, able to make people laugh," Wang Ziran said with a smile.
Wang Ziran then called out to the other colleagues around, saying: "Everyone come and listen, Zhou Meimei actually thinks she can negotiate a deal with Weishui. Shall we give the new colleague a little lesson?"
In response to Wang Ziran’s words, many employees chose not to speak because they didn’t particularly like Wang Ziran. However, there were a few who deliberately wanted to ingratiate themselves with Wang Ziran and began to verbally attack Zhou Meimei.
"Zhou Meimei, do you really think you’re somebody now? This is simply hilarious."
"As someone who’s just come out of school, you really don’t understand anything—neither how to work nor how to live."
"In the group, besides our boss, Wang Ziran is the most powerful person. If you want to keep your job, you’d better apologize to her quickly."
Listening to the words spoken for her, Wang Ziran said dismissively with a laugh: "You heard them, right? No one in the group thinks highly of you. This isn’t just my opinion."
"What they say doesn’t matter much. I will prove with my abilities what true capability is, while you’ve merely gained this through your body," Zhou Meimei replied.
Wang Ziran glared aggressively at Zhou Meimei, in front of so many people Zhou Meimei dared to say this, clearly throwing mud on her.
Even if it were true, in Wang Ziran’s eyes, it wasn’t selling herself but rather exchanging something of value with the boss.
"Capability?" Wang Ziran walked up to Zhou Meimei and slapped her across the face, saying: "This is capability. I’m hitting you now; do you have the courage to hit back?"
Zhou Meimei covered her burning face, took a deep breath, and firmly said: "Wang Ziran, just wait and see. I will definitely secure the deal, and then you must apologize to me."
After speaking, Zhou Meimei took the thick files and walked out of the group.
Wang Ziran had nothing to worry about in her mind. Although Zhou Meimei spoke with strong determination, Zhou Meimei couldn’t accomplish this because it was simply an impossible task.
"What are you all staring at? We’re still on work hours, not time for gossiping. Do you want your wages docked?" Wang Ziran angrily yelled at the other employees, which was also a privilege she enjoyed in the group, as almost no one dared to offend her.
When Zhou Meimei actually took a taxi to the outside of the Weishui Real Estate, her once fierce resolve was instantly halved. At Wang Ziran’s place, Zhou Meimei appeared full of confidence, but that was merely due to her inner dissatisfaction; she didn’t truly believe she could accomplish the task.
Standing truly before the Weishui Real Estate Group building, just about to put her plan into action, Zhou Meimei clearly understood that it was nearly impossible to secure the deal. Now, even the opportunity to meet Cheng Shi seemed elusive, and regarding Su Changfeng’s words in the morning, Zhou Meimei wasn’t too convinced.
Buying breakfast and meeting someone who would change her fate wasn’t like a TV drama; where would she find such a good fortune?
Just as Zhou Meimei hesitated at the door, lacking the courage to enter, a woman dressed like a secretary approached her, asking politely: "Excuse me, are you Miss Zhou?"
Faced with the secretary’s polite inquiry, Zhou Meimei was stunned. How did she know her surname?
After hesitating for a long time, Zhou Meimei realized she was being impolite and immediately said: "Yes, my surname is Zhou, but... but I suspect I’m not the person you’re looking for."
The secretary smiled and said: "If you’re here to meet Cheng Shi, I believe I haven’t got it wrong."
Zhou Meimei swallowed hard; she indeed meant to find Cheng Shi, but how would they know that?
"Are you sure you haven’t got the wrong person? Although I’m here for Cheng Shi, he probably doesn’t know about this," Zhou Meimei cautiously replied, afraid that another person with the surname Zhou might show up looking for Cheng Shi, causing some misunderstanding.
"Eighty percent sure I won’t mistake you, so please follow me; Brother Cheng Shi is waiting for you," the secretary replied confidently.
Uneasy, Zhou Meimei walked into the Weishui Real Estate, as if in a dream.
She had just arrived at the entrance and hadn’t thought of how to see Cheng Shi yet, but who knew she’d be taken in directly, which was quite odd.
Suddenly, Zhou Meimei recalled what happened in the morning.
Someone had said that if she mentioned his name, she could see Cheng Shi. Could this event have been arranged by that person? Could buying breakfast really change the future?
Yet it didn’t seem to match up, as she hadn’t even mentioned that person’s name.
Together with the secretary, she arrived outside Cheng Shi’s office. The secretary said: "Brother Cheng Shi is waiting for you in the office; you should go in quickly."
At this moment, Zhou Meimei was extremely nervous. It was her first time meeting someone as important as Cheng Shi, and this was enough to make her incredibly anxious. The key issue was, she kept feeling a very unreal sensation, always thinking that Cheng Shi wasn’t waiting for her, that it was just an accidental coincidence of surnames.
However, regardless of any misunderstanding, meeting Cheng Shi was a good thing.
Zhou Meimei mustered up the courage to enter the office, finding it not just Cheng Shi there, but also someone standing near the office’s floor-to-ceiling window, though he was turned away, preventing her from seeing his face.
"Are you the Little Zhou from that design group?" Cheng Shi asked Zhou Meimei.
Zhou Meimei was flattered, as Cheng Shi acted like he knew her, which undoubtedly astonished her.
"BROTHER Cheng Shi, how do you know me?" Zhou Meimei asked incredulously.
Cheng Shi smiled and looked at the man standing by the window. He knew Zhou Meimei must have been informed by Su Changfeng.
