Chapter 388: Welcome To Monarch
Rather than things becoming worse because of Griselda’s interview, it was almost like no one even cared about the interview at all! There had been hundreds of calls from various artefact and Magical Crystal dealers all over the city who were trying to get in good favour with the Monarch Guild, and there were calls from various other guilds asking for partnerships or alliances. The artefact sellers all wanted to have a monopoly on the guild’s eventual growth, and they were willing to throw billions of dollars at the guild just to have that monopoly! But Juliet didn’t even bother to entertain any of those companies yet. Juliet’s company, Tenet, was the first to strike a deal with Jason for all his Magical Crystals, so she would allow those other companies to sweat and beg for a few more weeks before she finally gave them a deal that would be very beneficial to both Tenet and Monarch! This would probably be the largest deal that Tenet had ever been in, and Juliet knew she had to be smart about how she handled it! But even though she was focusing on all the business, she couldn’t stop her thoughts from drifting towards the one person who was responsible for all this.
’I wonder if he’s back yet.’
Juliet sighed in worry as she thought about this. She hadn’t heard anything from Jason for a while, and she couldn’t help but worry that he was taking too long to return. Juliet knew that Jason had gone on a dangerous mission, so she wondered if things were far more serious than he had anticipated. But before Juliet could dwell on her thoughts for any longer, someone suddenly opened the door and called out.
"Madam Juliet! Mr. Jason just arrived in the building!"
Juliet turned around sharply with wide eyes once she heard this, and she saw that it was her secretary standing there. Although Juliet was Jason’s manager and assistant, she knew that she couldn’t do everything on her own, so she had hired a few non-combat staff in the Monarch Guild to help with the regular day-to-day running of the guild! Juliet had appointed this woman as her secretary, and the secretary’s first instruction had been to tell her the moment Jason returned! Juliet quickly grabbed a folder from the table before she started to walk out at a quick pace. Juliet had bought out four floors of the skyscraper that they were in to be used as a full guild base. The first floor was going to be their reception center, where the new recruits or visitors would go. The second and third floors were offices and training centers, while the fourth floor was the Magical Crystal and Artefact processing center. This was the basic layout for most guild bases, and Juliet had just copied many popular guilds in order to build this one.
Juliet took the elevator to the lower floor, and the moment the elevator opened, she felt a rush of power hit her like a massive gust of wind! Juliet’s eyes widened in shock, and she took a step back from the feeling alone! What in the world was this!? Juliet swallowed in slight nervousness, but she managed to calm herself, and she looked over to where Jason was standing with a few other superhumans. Juliet couldn’t believe the sheer power rolling off Jason at that moment! Juliet had already been overwhelmed by Jason’s power before, but this was beyond anything she had ever felt! Juliet had to release a calming breath before she stepped out of the elevator and made her way forward.
There were many non-combat staff standing on the first floor and just staring at Jason with pure awe on their faces. Juliet had hired many of them herself, and she had already warned them about doing something like this since it would be rude, but she should have known that they wouldn’t be able to help themselves! This was the first time many of them would be feeling power like this, so there was no way they could hide their awe!
"Jason, I’m glad to see you back safely."
Jason turned when he heard Juliet speak, and he grinned when he saw her coming over with a smile. Jason hugged her to his side with one arm before releasing her as she went to hug Gina and Riyala as well. Jason gestured to the many people standing around and asked who they were, and Juliet just smiled as she answered.
"They’re your new employees. They were all vetted by me, and they’re very professional in their work. As the guild leader, I’m sure you won’t have to worry about having issues with any of them. Isn’t that right, everyone!?"
Juliet raised her voice so that everyone would hear her, and the employees all seemed to snap out of their daze immediately! They all quickly rushed to gather together on one side of the room and arranged themselves in straight lines like soldiers in a barracks before they resounded as one.
"Welcome back, Guild Leader!"
Jason hummed as he looked them over with his [Mana Sense] and saw that many of them were just regular humans. There were some superhumans there as well, but none of them had enough power to be regarded as anything higher than D Rank. It was similar to the way the SMD had non-combatant agents that would take care of the paperwork and filing. Jason was sure that Juliet had the same idea when she got these agents. At the side, Riyala was watching the scene while petting one of the large Moonlight Wolf subordinates that had brought an agent to the guild headquarters, and she smiled as the wolf licked her palm and nibbled it playfully. Gina was standing beside Jason, and she spoke to him in a low voice.
"Why don’t you say something to them, babe? You need to motivate them."
Jason raised a brow at her, and Gina shrugged. Gina knew that Jason didn’t care much for formalities, but she also knew that running a guild was all about raising the morale of your employees. Even though Jason wasn’t really interested in this guild and he would leave the day-to-day management to Juliet and Griselda, Jason was still the leader, and it was his guild at the end of the day. Gina wanted to make sure that anything related to their family would be successful, and the first step to doing that was by making sure the employees were motivated. Jason huffed slightly as he saw Gina urging him on, and he finally turned to the gathered employees and said,
"I’m looking forward to working with all of you. Work hard and do your job properly for the guild, and the guild will make sure you’re well taken care of. I’ll be expecting good things from you."
There was a wave of delight and excitement that ran through the gathered agents once they heard Jason’s words, and they could all tell that Jason was basically saying working hard would allow them to earn a lot of money! Many of them had already negotiated a salary with the guild, but Jason’s words now meant that they would be able to increase their salary base and even get many bonuses in the future if they worked hard! Gina smiled when she saw the excitement on the faces of the agents, and she knew that Jason had played his cards perfectly. If Jason had promised the agents power or fame, then he would have done the wrong thing. The employees were mostly youths, and at this stage of their lives, the only thing that would really motivate them was the promise of making as much money as possible!
