Chapter 255: 255
In the morning, Michelle opened her eyes lazily. When her gaze cleared, she saw a sinfully handsome face in front of her.
"Don’t pretend to be asleep!" she said coldly, able to see through Alexander’s act. It was partly because of the Eye of Nihil.
Even before, she would have been able to see that he was acting, but she would have needed a few minutes.
After contracting the Eye of Nihil, it enhanced her ability to discern truth. There was a reason why it was called the Eye of Truth.
Even if Michelle wasn’t able to see through Alexander with it, it could help her see through his act faster.
Alexander opened his eyes and sat up. "You weren’t captivated by my sleeping face?" he asked as he showed his usual smile.
Michelle frowned, a flash of disgust in her eyes. "What could be so captivating about a lousy act?"
Alexander reached out and pulled Michelle up. "But I was captivated when I saw your sleeping face." Without any warning, he lifted Michelle up. "You need to wash up. Your wounds weren’t even cleaned."
"You want to help with that?" Michelle lifted a brow, the corner of her mouth rising.
"Or? Who else would help you?" Alexander felt that Michelle was plotting something. But he had a plot of his own.
So the calm morning had turned into a game of wits between the two.
Alexander carried Michelle through the room into the bathroom. He was taking advantage of the fact that Michelle was still too weak to move on her own.
When Alexander set Michelle down, she showed a slight sneer.
"What do you think is the most disgusting way to kill someone?" she asked, not minding that he was proceeding to take off her clothes. She was still covered in blood, so there was nothing really to see on her.
It was natural for Alexander to think that Michelle’s question was quite out of the blue. "Depends if you want it to be disgusting for the onlookers, or the victims. What are you aiming for?"
"I want a mix of both. I want to traumatize the onlookers and make the victim go through hell on earth before dying." Michelle didn’t conceal her desires.
It had been a while since she had started thinking about the most drastic way to kill someone. And since she would have quite some idle time until she recovered, it seemed the right time to finalize the method.
Alexander undressed Michelle and started cleaning her wounds and the area around them. "To traumatize the onlookers, you need to not only make them see gore and blood, they need to hear wails and smell death."
Being the Dark Lord, Alexander had tortured many, so he knew how to shatter their minds. "As for the victim, push them to the brink of death and then bring them back to life. Keep repeating it until their mind shatters. Also, the longer you keep their life hanging by a thread, the bigger the effect. Every time you repeat the process, you should increase the time before you bring them back to safety."
Michelle stared up at Alexander, her expression complicated. It was a mix of calmness and annoyance. "I know that much. I want something specific."
Hearing that, Alexander’s smile widened. "Deform half of their body while leaving the other half untouched. For example, pull out the nails on their right hand while breaking the fingers on their left hand. Skin the right side of their body, and stab something into their left eyeball. Pull out or break half of their teeth and cripple one of their legs. Break the right side of their ribcage, carefully so it doesn’t pierce the lungs."
After listening to Alexander, Michelle stared at him. His words didn’t quite align with what he had said a moment before. "And how does all that push them close to death?"
Alexander was done cleaning the biggest of Michelle’s wounds and proceeded to the smaller ones. "If you add a poison that prevents blood clotting and healing, their life will be hanging by a thread. Until the moment you give them a blood replenishment pill."
Michelle nodded. That made sense. "Do you use the method often?" she asked.
"No!" Alexander shook his head. "It’s ineffective. There are quicker ways to break a person’s mind."
Michelle had to agree with that. To break most people, there was no need to think of such complex ways to torture them. Just something physical here and there accompanied by threats, hunger and no water and most would cave in.
Still, Michelle liked the idea of such drastic and disgusting torture. Especially if she could kill the person after finishing torturing them.
Michelle sank deep into her thoughts, fantasizing about mixing all the torture methods she knew. She wanted to come up with the ultimate one.
Seeing that, Alexander didn’t say anything more. He knew it would be pointless. She wouldn’t pay him any attention no matter what he said.
After some time, Alexander had cleaned Michelle’s wounds and gotten rid of the blood covering her. With that, he lifted her up and placed her in the bathtub.
In the water, Michelle instantly snapped back to reality. It wasn’t ordinary. "When did you prepare this?" she asked, observing the medical bath. She could feel strength returning to her muscles. And the stiffness she had felt since waking up was getting better.
"When you were asleep." Alexander leaned against the wall, letting Michelle soak in the medical bath. It was beneficial for her wounds. "It might start to sting a bit after a while, but that’s normal."
Michelle nodded a bit. She could bear some stinging if it meant she would be immobile for a shorter period of time.
A few minutes later, she was already regretting her arrogance. Clearly, her and Alexander’s definition of "stinging a bit" were very different. And she was used to extreme things.
"You... bastard..." slipped out of Michelle’s mouth, her body twitching in pain. She felt like her bones were being ground and her skin and flesh were being melted. That wasn’t stinging. It hurt like hell.
Alexander smiled. "Don’t hate me too much. It will help you."
Michelle had to admit she was feeling much better than before. She could even move her hands. But the pain accompanying it was terrible.
"Come here..." she glared at Alexander. She wouldn’t let him get his way like that without taking revenge in some way.
Alexander came over. "Yes?"
Michelle stretched her hand out and grabbed his arm. Then, she quickly pulled.
"Hah!" Alexander laughed a bit. "You are too weak to move me!" He flung his hand to the side, getting out of Michelle’s grasp.
That awakened the competitive spirit within Michelle’s body. Even if she was in extreme pain, excitement washed over her and her right eye turned red from it. She would pull Alexander down! No matter what!
After Michelle had contracted the Eye of Nihil, her left eye lost the ability to transform colors according to Michelle’s emotions. So one of her eyes was normally purple and the other one was red.
In the past, Alexander had seen Michelle with a pair of red eyes. Even with a pair of black eyes. But not with one eye purple and the other one red. That was a new one.
He froze for a moment, staring down at Michelle.
Michelle instantly used that. Her hands flew out and grabbed Alexander by his arm again. The next moment, he was pulled into the bathtub too. "Now you have to suffer through this with me!" she smiled.
Alexander didn’t really mind. "This bath is made only to affect those that possess Spirit Soul Blood. For me, it’s just water!"
Instantly, Michelle’s face darkened. "And I was so happy that I would make you suffer...." she mumbled in disappointment.
But it didn’t last long. She remembered something.
Before Mavreth had appeared in her room and stabbed her with the spike, she was making poison. Poison used for making the victims go blind.
Though most of it was in a bottle on the table in Michelle’s room, she had some of it in her spatial ring.
Closing her eyes tightly, she imagined the bottle and a knife and reached into the spatial ring’s space.
The next moment, the two things were in her hands.
"What are you planning with that?" Alexander sneered.
Michelle glanced up at him, an evil plan in her mind. "If you let me test my poison on you, I’ll cure your Void Plague!" she said with a smile.
It was basically impossible to overlook what Michelle wanted to do. She wanted to blatantly poison Alexander while disguising it as using him like a test subject. She was disguising it very sloppily. She clearly didn’t care that Alexander would see through it. She was expecting him to.
Alexander stared at the bottle in Michelle’s hand and the knife in the other, and frowned a bit. "What kind of poison is it?" he asked curiously. He really wanted to know what Michelle was capable of making.
"Why should I tell you when you will feel it yourself soon?" Michelle showed a bright smile.
